It makes 1 cup of uncooked rice = 2 cups cooked rice.
I went with 1 cup rinsed rice and 1 cup water, and that came out great. Their original recipe was too watery.
That’s the perfect amount for the two of us. With my larger rice cooker, I was always struggling with what to do with that extra 1/2 cup leftover, or felt obligated to try and serve it up.
This little guy is great!
Though not as sleek as the more modern models, it cooks rice in a minimum of time and keeps it warm.

We recently moved into a house that has community propane instead of natural gas. Propane burns much hotter. Every time we cook rice, it boils over. So, I bought this in hopes it would help – and it does.
It’s very useful to use, just put in the measured rice from the instruction booklet, fill it with water to the line inside the tub and press the “cook” button. That’s it – it’s pretty foolproof.
It takes us about 30 minutes to make fluffy, sticky rice the way we like it, and there’s no boiling-over mess to clean up. It even keeps the rice warm, so if you’re having seconds – no cold rice.

As others have noted, this little pot makes a bit of a mess. When the water comes to a boil the steam escapes out the vent in the lid, but it also comes out all around the lid and the cooking liquid bubbles up onto the lid itself. If you’re not there to watch it, the lid can sometimes slide almost off and then liquid can run all over the counter. I just keep an eye on it and make sure the lid is centered, and then just let it do its thing. It cooks the rice perfectly every time. I use it to make rice for my dog’s homemade food but I also used it to cook quinoa for myself and it worked fine. I agree with others who have said it’s a little annoying that there isn’t an “off” only an “unplug” to turn it off, but that’s pretty minor since I’m watching for it to switch to warm anyway. For the money, this is a decent product if you just need a simple way to cook some rice and don’t mind a little cleanup.
Edited to add a pic showing my rig to keep the lid from sliding off while the pot is boiling. A pair of tongs keeps the lid level at least….

I love this thing! I’ve always struggled with cooking rice even how seemingly simple it is. This guy makes the PERFECT rice every single time. It is perfect for one or two people. For reference, I use calrose rice which has quickly become my go to universal rice. I can make it sticky or make Spanish/Mexican rice and it’s always perfect. For those reviewers who said it boiled over and made a big mushy mess, make sure to rinse your rice. I never thought it was necessary but it makes a big difference. I’d highly recommend to try out calrose – when you’re making the rice, pour enough water to cover the rice, let it soak for 15 minutes, then rinse. Then, use a 1/2 cup more water than the amount of rice you’re using. I always make 1/2 cup of dry rice to 1 cup water and it’s perfect every time. Hope this helps!

This is a great rice cooker especially for young adults living in a dorm. I have loved my rice cooker so much and my very hillbilly family, who has never made anything but the boxed one-minute rice, has even started using it because it’s so easy! You just add your washed rice, water, and click the button to “cook” and voila, you have fresh yummy rice!!! I have also used it for ramen and it works pretty well for that too! I will be looking to upgrade to a larger rice cooker soon!

First of all, right of the bat, you need to know that their cup size is NOT STANDARD CUP SIZE!! Is “their own 2 cup size – included”… and yes, that is in mentioned in their instructions manual as well.
The size it can make is at most “1 cup standard size”… with nothing else in it.
I just cooked 1/2 cup of jasmine rice with 1/2 cup of diced vegetables and the thing is full to the lid once it finished cooking.
For me personally is OK size. I only use it for personal portions and 1/2 cup is perfect for me; but for family or guests, I would definitely need a bigger rice cooker!
Otherwise it works great, no complains about it; but I have to give it 2 stars only for the lie of “2 cups” size.
I have no idea why they would lie about that… people will search and look for the standard size cup measurements, they would have no clue is not standard what they are referencing…

This is a wonderful appliance. Just the perfect size for one or two. I use this every morning to make oatmeal. It’s so easy!
I pour in 3/4 cup of oatmeal. I always use the rice measuring cup that came with the unit rather than a standard measuring cup in case there is a difference in size. Then I add one tablespoon of dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup walnuts, a tablespoon cinnamon (I like a lot of cinnamon), and either a diced apple or banana. I pour 1-1/2 cups water over that and stir gently with a soft spatula, and then add one teaspoon of butter to the top of the mixture. Then I press the start button. I do this as I pour my first cup of coffee and by the time that cup of coffee is finished, so is my oatmeal. I use a soft spatula to give it all a little stir and then turn it out into a breakfast bowl.
I was afraid the cooked oatmeal would stick and sometimes it almost looks like it has stuck around the bottom edge – but it really hasn’t. There is no scorched or burned area, and it all comes out of the pot very easily with the soft spatula.
I give the pot a squirt with that Dawn spray foam dish soap, turn on the faucet and all rinses out beautifully. Couldn’t be easier!!! And it’s the perfect size.
I also make the best macaroni and cheese ever in this. First I add water and one cup of dried macaroni and press the start button. About half way through the cook cycle, I add one cup of fresh broccoli. It’s all cooked and ready to drain when the rice cooker flips from cook to warm cycle. I quickly drain and add a cup of grated cheese and a teaspoon of mustard. Sometimes I add a little cream, but really, with the cheese melted in, that’s not necessary. This is so easy to make and cleans up just as easily as when cooking oatmeal, and the flavor is so much better than one of those boxed macaronis from the store – and costs pennies.
I do find the top edge of the pot pretty hot and a bit awkward to remove, but use a small oven mit so as not to burn my fingers. Also stress that a soft spatula should be used – and not a regular metal spoon – so as to prevent damage to the inside finish. I’m so glad I bought this!

This is a great little unit with a small footprint.
At 200 watts you can run this off of a small solar generator, would recommend a 300 watt or bigger solar generator so you aren’t hitting right up agains the limit of the inverter on the generator.
This is perfect for camping or an emergency situation, will cook a good meal for two or three people.
The state of our world is scary and having some items like this that are low cost and very useful is never a bad idea.
Small size makes it easy to store in your food storage room without taking up too much room.
Highly recommend items like this for the above situations.
Remember one is none and two is one.
For this price having an extra is a wise investment.

I would give this 0 stars if I could.
I bought this because it was sooo cute (pink is my fave colour) and was so excited to start using it! Upon the first use however, I instantly noticed a burning smell, and I had to check to make sure that it wasn’t on fire, I was very terrified it would blow up…. instead of relaxing and doing my own thing while the rice cooker… cooks, I had to instead watch it like a little baby because the water boiled all over everywhere even though I followed the directions! I had to HOLD THE LID DOWN otherwise it would have shot up! I wish I was making this up. I might as well have cooked rice on the stovetop the old fashioned way…
I think the one I got was also defective because every single time I’ve used it, the switch doesn’t automatically switch to warm when it’s done, it stays at cooking until I change it myself. This is a serious fire hazard, I’m very glad I was home!!!!
In summary, it’s cute and that’s its ONLY redeeming point. It smells terrible, and don’t you dare try and leave the room while it cooks, lest the thing bubble over all over your kitchen! I would never recommend this product to anyone, except maybe my absolute worst enemy… but even then….
