This will sice your bagel and slightly smash it too. You have to use a pretty good force to get this to go through a bagel. I did not use the word slice for a reason. The blase pushes through not really cutting so much as wedging the bagel in two. It works though so if you dislike using a knife this is an option.

The serrated blade does not cut through a bagel but instead “tears” the babel apart. Not what I wanted or expected!

This is our 2nd one!

I no longer worry about cutting myself as I cut my bagel in half. Works well.

The squished ends were the top of the bagel. So obviously this didn’t work for us.

Works exactly as advertised. No more finger slicing while cutting bagels

We use the bottom half only. Put your bagel in the holder (bottom) and use the bread slicing knife. The fixed blade just smashes your bagel.

The blade isn’t sharp. It isn’t. Not at all. I’ve met elementary school scissors with a better edge. Using it as directed is like trying to force a butter knife through a bagel. Sideways. Mashing it into the bottom of the holder. The blade is serrated which doesn’t really help. It will mash its way through a firm bagel somewhat bisecting it but i wouldn’t call it a slicer. I am going to attempt to sharpen it but i don’t know if the cheap blade in it will hold any kind of edge. I bought this slicer to save time and reduce hassle but now I just have yet another problem to solve.
