I bought this product primarily to dry fruits/vegetables and meats. I haven’t had a chance to dry any meats yet, however I have had a chance to dry beets (for chips) and mangoes. Overall, this is a decent dehydrator, however it has a few drawbacks.
Cons:
1. The heat distribution leaves a bit to be desired. I strongly recommend you make use of an external thermometer when drying meats to ensure the correct temperature is reached. In my experience the highest temperatures are at the back of the unit (closest to the heating coil). The front of the unit can be 5-10 degrees cooler than the readout on the display.
2. The racks are an absolute pain to hand wash with their intricate small openings. The manual says the trays are not dishwasher safe, so you’re stuck doing it by hand. This can take quite some time.
Pros:
1. Simple to use (I cannot stress this enough)
2. Quiet. I can barely hear it even when I’m in the kitchen.
3. Large internal space (Holds about 3 beets or about 4 mangoes for drying)
4. Exterior is fairly cool even after many hours of running (I ran for 28 hours straight)

I have dehydrated bananas, apples, and raspberries with ease! The main reason I got it though was for cookie decorating. It’s been perfect! No more craters in the royal icing and the cookies are still soft. I do recommend getting the protective sheets to put on the trays.

I use my dehydrator exclusively for drying the icing on my sugar cookies and it is excellent. I set it at the lowest heat 95*, and leave the cookies in for about 20 minutes at a time to help the icing crust over before adding more layers or details. The dehydration helps to prevent the icing from cratering. I bought silicone trays to place on each rack so that the cookies don’t dry out from the bottom. I haven’t had any issues with the cookies getting too dry – the convenience of being able to speed up the icing drying process is excellent.

In my experience, it heats up to where it is supposed to be within a reasonable amount of time. I have used it to make fantastic jerky with venison meat. Apples and bananas are still chewy and have a great natural flavor without adding anything besides lemon juice to prevent browning.
I don’t understand the bad reviews. It beeps when you plug it in, then you have to hit Start and adjust the time/temperature. Also don’t expect “banana candy” by dehydrating bananas. Your dried banana isn’t going to be like the banana chips from the store that are fried in oil and usually have added sugar.
It does what it is supposed to, comes with a decent little recipe book, and seems to be very durable thus far. It’s not as loud as I expected and I trust its capabilities a lot more than the vertical heating/stacking dehydrators.
I wish it came with more accessories for doing fruit leathers. I’ll probably order some teflon sheets before trying that. It does take up a fair bit of counter space, but holds a good amount on the 6 racks.

I got this for myself for my birthday. It is so easy to use, just thinly cut up whatever you want to dehydrate and put on the trays. I am now able to “save” fruits and veggies that I was tossing before because they were going too ripe.
I put the dehydrated foods in mason jars and pop them in the pantry. Fruits are especially good in cereal and oatmeal. I’m excited to try more things.
The machine itself is quiet and needs about 8-10 hours to do its magic. It sits nicely on a counter or the floor. Its noise to work is like a very quiet fan, and you can use it with other normal household things going on. We watched a movie (open floorplan house) while it sat on the counter and we didn’t even notice it. The only thing that I wish that it did was turn itself off when it is complete, but it beeps loudly (shrilly) and keeps doing that until you come turn it off. Great machine that will over time save us food and money!

One of the best dehydrator in the market. I have dehydrated several batches of beef jerky, some apples, and the results were amazing. The drying racks are the things that hopefully the manufacturer think about to upgrade to stainless steel. Even though the material looks durable, I still fear that one day, the material will break up. I still prefer stainless steel. Other than that, the whole machine is of very good quality. Highly recommended.

I had one and loved it so much I bought a second to dehydrate large quantities.

There is definitely a learning curve with dehydrating, but I find it fun and fascinating. It’s a great way to preserve food, and I plan on doing a lot of experimenting and learning over the Winter. I recommend getting a good cookbook, because it only comes with some small booklets. Also, you’ll need silicone tray liners if you want to dehydrate pretty much anything.
I bought “The Ultimate Dehydrator Cookbook” by Tammy Gangloff. So much great information.
It’s BIG, but it’s MUCH quieter than I expected, and it’s pretty simple. I think it would be cool for kids to learn, too. I look forward to learning much more.

Had this for little over a year and used it maybe a handful of times, didn’t even use it on meats it started to malfunction and the
Company is refusing to do anything about helping me replace the actual unit and they trying to charge me 75$ on a $174 after tax unit.
Custom support is garbage. I’m avoiding these guys from now on and so should you. Don’t give these guys business. You’ll regret it.

I was gifted this item to use for my cookies & I couldn’t be happier. Was super worried about exposure times and drying them out. Temperature goes low enough that I can get a good crust quickly and dry out my cookies. Easily recommend!
