I used this in my Microwave and it was not in even for the full couple of minutes , when i smelt like burning, i looked and seen steam and smoke coming out of the door , it had meted my door.
I got a hold of Amazon , they offered me a full refund on the popper, with was appreciated.
I also told them of the possible fire hazard

This cute little glass pot in the blue silicone sleeve with a matching handle and lid is the perfect size for me. Before it arrived I went and got some JT white kernel popcorn from the store and as soon as it came I made some. All but 3 or 4 kernels popped and it was wonderful. Since then I have used the same 2 tablespoons of corn (to fill line on the lid) used butter to melt while popping and just good old air frying.
About the 5th batch it started burning and more kernels didn’t pop. I followed the above procedure and used their recommended 2 and a half minute cook time. I have a 1000 watt microwave and cannot figure out what the problem is. This has happened to me several times but I am not ready to give up on this pot just yet. I find it hard to believe it is the pot but equally as hard to believe it is the microwave which is less than a year old.
I would say to get it and give it a try. When it worked it really worked well and if I still have a problem I will go so far as to order it again. Examinations have not provided any clues. The pot is easy to clean and the lid that goes on it is loose but stays in its area.

I wanted to make popcorn at home in a way that was pretty quick and easy, but also allowed me to control how much fat and salt I was adding to my popcorn, but not take up a lot of counter space. Bonus if I could get it to match a lot of the stuff in my kitchen and I can just pop it in my dish washer.
Not sure this was the right solution.
It’s sturdy and I didn’t get any odd smells from it being in the microwave. And it’s cute. But, the popping method in the instructions it came with did not exactly yield results I’m happy with.
Full disclosure: I used unsalted butter both times I tried popping a snack, since I know I can adjust for salt after the fact. The most important bit was to have a fat to prevent burning and help the popping process.
Using the lid to melt butter on top over two lid fulls resulted in horribly burnt popcorn. It didn’t help that the recommended max of 3 minutes in the microwave on a normal popping setting was no where near long enough to get it all going with that method. Seasoning did not help in the slightest. Into the garbage it went.
Second attempt, I added the butter at the bottom and popped half the amount and again at the recommended 3 minutes, watching it so I could add time if needed. I also added my flavoring to the bottom before microwaving, but I don’t recommend it. It was something I was taught when I worked in a movie house, but that only works with constant movement and direct heat. Seasoning burned, but the popcorn was fine with just a little over 4 minutes.
So, this really depends on your microwave and you have to watch it to make sure it’s actually popping steadily and to add time if needed. Only use the lid as a shield and a measuring cup, not to melt butter in. Add butter or oil at the bottom with your popcorn before popping. Add any seasoning after it’s popped and still fresh.

Love this and it’s saving me a fortune as my kids were always asking for the microwave bags. Once the corn kernels have popped I melt some butter in a pan and stir through some sugar and cinnamon. Pour that over the popped corn and toss it all together… Also done the same with curry spices too. Loads of different options.
Remember to let the glass cool down before making another batch and it’s worth wearing oven gloves when your taking it out the microwave,

What I like it’s easy to use, now it says 4min that’s about right, the glass is thin, plastic, is plastic so keeping an eye on, is important, sometimes all corn pops sometimes popcorn 🍿 get scorched in the middle, more often yummy. I’ve bought 3 due to accident ( Fragile)
1st time putting in sink, gently next time, 2nd have know idea, but that I wanted popcorn 🍿, so I ordered a 3rd one. I’ll probably order a 4th. So yes love this popcorn bowl

This makes popping corn fast and easy. The corn kernels pop fat and fluffy, but you have to stop the microwave as soon as popping stops because it burns kernels easily. I took the advice of other reviewers and warmed it up before popping and it makes a difference in popped volume. I have not tried melting butter from the top because it sounds too messy. Because I don’t melt butter in it, the clean up is a quick swish with a bit of soap and wash rag. I purchased the small one to keep my snacking in check and I’m very happy with it.

I like the feature where you can measure how much popcorn can be measured in the lid and butter added to it for popping. However the lid is lightweight and just sits on the top, it does not have a firm seat. My first reaction was dayum it’s tiny. If I were to order again, I would go for the larger size. The glass part is extremely thin, I would not recommend this if there are small children or pets in the family. Risk of breakage/injury would be high. At the end of the day it’s a fancy glass bowl for popping corn and works as intended.
Update: Now that I have had a chance to use it several times. I can say that while it looks small it is the perfect size for one person (1.5 qt) and the mini schnauzer that is patiently waiting for a few pieces. Also cleaning it is easy as the top is large enough to get your hand inside. I would recommend holding it by the handle for cleanup. The glass is thin and I believe holding it by the handle will reduce the chance of breaking the glass.

I had seen good reviews of this product which led me to buy it. I have not been impressed so far. Even when microwaving for well over the recommended time, more than half the corn does not pop, so I am wasting loads of corn. I bought this corn fresh from the supermarket so it should all be popping. Secondly, although it is supposed to be dishwasher washable, I have found that the inside doesn’t get properly clean due to the rounded shape and the lid has been left with white water marks. Would not buy again.

So, disclaimer: I have only done microwave bag popcorn for decades. I have mastered the art of making popcorn. I can put the bag in and take it out until they are done to perfection. So idk if this is some sort of downside to this different ‘method’, but damn what a waste!
For the bags to be perfect, my microwave needs 1:15 minutes but I set it at 3 just in case.
So I’ve used this 4 times already:
The first time (two full measures) a handful got burned: I put them on for 3 mins and stopped it until it had 30 secs left!
The second time (two full measures), I didn’t burn any and they were popped to perfection, yay! I stopped it when it had 45 seconds left, however… about half a measure were left undone.
The third time (two full measures). I left it until there was 40 seconds left and I burnt about 3 popcorn, the rest were done to perfection and about 1/3 of a measurement was left undone.
I noticed that they started burning because they really don’t fit in the popper.
The fourth time, I tried with 1 1/2 measures and left it until there was about a minute left. They were done to perfection. except about 20 corns weren’t done.
I got tired of wasting corns, so decided to rest run those undone ones in a second round and they popped, so that’s what I’m gonna do from now on!
Anyways, for the rest of the review: the taste is great! Better than the bag ones (I use Orville oil that tastes like butter and a bit of salt). And, I have only cleaned it by hand and it’s easy to do so, but I don’t mix the oil or the salt in the popper.

I got the small version as I wanted it just for myself because I am on Weight Watchers and it is the perfect snack size. It really works well and uses no oil. I just use a bit of spay butter on the popped corn and then add something like a shake of cheese flavor or something like that. I liked it so much I also bought a second one for another friend also on WW.
