I believe as a dedicated (Belgian) waffle maker it is outstanding.
Time and quantity per serving may not suit everyone if time is always short and many mouths to feed that are impatient, but please read on. The ACTUAL time per waffle (not including your mix prep), is 3+ min to warm machine is quick, & then 4-5 min Per Waffle, (+/- seconds you apply to preference, like crispier…) & by how many you need to make-do the math! A full 1-cup (max) of waffle batter cooked is actually much larger than a frozen square you toast (probably 3 of them) and breaking one into the four sections that are created by design will certainly get any 4 kids started until you produce another in 4-5 minutes. While cooking, you fill your measure at the ready, when-beep/open/remove/plate/pour a new one & set timer/flip/serve 4 pc/& repeat. Process goes that quick and really not that much more time IMO. By then, maybe they want another piece or just a couple bites, you know how kids eat! Again, this size of waffle halved as two servings for adults may be enough for most, so waiting for more may not be that big a deal. I am a larger eater and I could barely finish one whole myself if that helps. Add toppings like whip cream and fruit and 1/4 servings to most will suffice. (Yum…Try the batter from GOLDEN MALTED.com The same as the good hotels use, and fast prep! )
The unit is made well, and function was easy.
You can pour left or right side position, does not affect operation. Be sure to leave room for the flipping while in use on your counter or u may have a batter mess. If your batter is to runny, wait to flip 45sec. for it to crust helps. You could leave it and not flip it and yes it will still cook, though the finished product will have a different appearance as the batter will not be as airy. You do NOT need to spray oil or wipe oil on the ceramic grids for ANY waffle, they work that good, plus you have oil or butter in your mix (right?), and this is why it’s so much faster to make the next one! Once hot, no need to worry about the red light, just the timer. The handle works as designed, though it looks…???, stays cool at the grab portion, just don’t grab it next to the metal which does get hot, and when you do flip be sure to grab both sides of that handle and use one continuous motion and you never see a mess ever! 1-cup max no mess ! How great is that. Occasional wipe of grid (COLD), and done!
[ TIP: Warm up serving plates in microwave for 30-sec+ when the waffle timer 1-min beep is herd,
then plate when done. You will have less moisture forming from a cold plate leaving a warm & crisp to last bite treat instead of cold and soggy finish! ]
Speaking of heat, on the very first heating, do it outside if you can so the burn off smell stays outside. I let mine heat for 5 min then left it to cool. I then reheated and tested the heat balance of both grids (you don’t have to do this) and they were only 5° different which is well balanced. Heat was peaked at 420° then cycled to 340° and repeated. Plug it in for ON! Unplug it for OFF!
It will take an hour to cool down in the closed position, so be patient, and yes the metal will be hot so don’t touch it their! Storage after the cool down is in a space saving upright position with the attached & provided red flip up clip, and the cord can then wrap around the base area. I used the tie that came with it to keep it tied in place.
Note: Instructions say pour batter, set timer, close and flip. I prefer, close, set timer, then flip. A few extra seconds with the lid closed sets up the batter for a flawless flip IMO, and if you forget to flip immediately, just flip when you remember which does not affect timer. Don’t open it for first 2-3min. to check on it or batter will not form a perfect solid waffle.
I will update later on the longevity to see how it performs over time. Some have reported that theirs have failed early. Now I want a waffle from all this explaining, “Bon Appetit” RH

I bought this waffle maker to replace a $150+ cast iron waffle maker that we got as a wedding gift, after it essentially fell apart after 10 years of frequent use. Normally I wouldn’t try to directly compare the two, since you’d expect the more expensive waffle iron to be much better, but I’ve had this waffle iron for over a year now and it beats the old one in pretty much every category, except probably for longevity.
First of all, it’s much more lightweight and compact – it fits in our pantry much better, takes up less space on the counter, and is easier to pack (yes, we often bring our waffle maker when renting a house on vacation!). I like that you can lock it in the standing position for storage.
Second, it is INCREDIBLY easy to clean. The cast iron one we had was a nightmare to clean, truly, but the ceramic on this one is wipe-clean. Part of that is that is that there is a nice deep channel running around the waffle iron, so that it’s nearly impossible to overflow – our last waffle maker overflowed constantly (in fact, it came with a drip tray for this reason) and the batter that got on the outside was really hard to get off. It also spluttered and sprayed waffle batter a lot. Maybe that isn’t a problem with most waffle makers and we just had a dud, but it’s a big difference for me. I intentionally over-filled this waffle maker once, and batter still didn’t come out. Even without that issue, the inside is significantly easier to clean – no scrubbing needed, ever. And we often put stuff in our waffles – chocolate chips, nuts, M&Ms, candied bacon – that tends to stick, but no worries with this waffle maker. Usually the waffles come off so cleanly that the ceramic looks brand new, but if some stuff sticks, it wipes off easily – no scrubbing.
The timer on this waffle maker is kind of a nice feature, but it only does full minutes, with a beep when there’s 30 seconds left. This suited my purposes fine, since I’ve found 3:30 is perfect for our waffles, but recently (after a year of using it 2-4 times per month) the timer hasn’t been reliable. Sometimes it gets stuck on 1, 2, or 3 minutes and just refuses to add more time. This is really not a big deal, I just set a different timer.
The nonstick ceramic is easily the best part of this waffle maker – it really is nonstick. I have found that I do have to lightly spray the waffle iron when I’m making waffles with stuff in them (usually chocolate chips for my kid), otherwise the waffles tend to split down the middle, with half on each side. Sometimes I don’t bother spraying even then, because the waffles still taste good. It’s weird, though, because when that happens they still come off the ceramic easily so they’re not exactly ‘stuck’, they don’t just slide right off like the plain waffles do. I also recommend adding 30 seconds to your cook time if there’s a lot of stuff added to your waffle, so the center comes together better.
Now, I doubt this thing will last me an entire decade, but if it stops working I will happily replace it with an identical model because it’s such an improvement.

It was hard to learn how to use this product. There is no on\off switch, so you have to plug and unplug. The timer works seperate from the iron.
What I like about the iron is the depth of the iron itself. It makes the waffle look bigger with the same amount of batter I use with my other iron. Once you figure out how long to leave the batter to cook, they come out perfect every time. I found that it takes approximately 6 mins to cook one waffle. It’s worth the wait.
I’d buy again. I’d prefer a proper on off switch and proper timer, but nothing is perfect.

This is a wonderful waffle iron. Waffles come out fluffy or crisp as you wish depending on the time you cook and/or the amount of oil you use. This is the easiest cleaning waffle iron I’ve ever owned. I wanted one that was not teflon, preferring the ceramic option for easy cleanup and longevity. This iron has been everything I wanted – I purchased several months ago and still love it. Have used it for both sweet and savoury waffles and all have cooked beautifully. I highly recommend this product. The only thing that I should mention is that the timer is simply a timer and is not connected to the operation of the iron – it is merely there to remind you to flip the machine for even cooking or to remove at the end of cooking time. I typically use 2 minutes per side but do have to extend the cooking for some of the savoury waffles like sweet potato. You really should try mashed potatoes, eggs with pieces of bacon…it’s a great hand held breakfast on the go!

I did a lot of research before choosing this appliance and I was super excited to get it. Little did I know that one very cheap design decision made this literally the shortest-lived appliance I’ve owned.
The locking hinge is a HORRIBLE design. It’s a flimsy piece of red plastic that doesn’t hold well. I stored it away vertically by using the locking hinge after the one time I used it. When I moved it from one place to another on the counter, I watched in horror as the hinge came undone on its own. The waffle irons then quickly fell to the side and the handle smashed into hundreds of pieces as it hit the surface. The handle being a rigid and cheap plastic doesn’t seem to allow it to take any amount of impact.
I couldn’t have been more disappointed with a product. Based on reviews, there aren’t any really decent waffle markers unless you can find a discontinued $300 model.

I bought used condition and the timer worked only 2 or 3 times. It doesn’t matter as it’s a tiny screen and hard to press button. Alex is much better at timing. Other than this small issue, waffle came out wonderfully. Cleaning is easy. No complaints.

Long story short, our perfect 15+ year old waffle iron finally kicked the bucket so was on the hunt for a new one. This was the third waffle iron purchased from Amazon over the course of a month. Tried a couple other more expensive highly recommended/reviewed waffle irons first but found that they were either REALLY cheaply made, or just didn’t produce actual Belgian waffles.
This one however is perfect. The unit itself has some weight to it which is nice considering it uses ceramic plates. Being able to store it upright is a nice touch and doesn’t take up a whole lot of space. I have seen some other reviews about the red locking mechanism to store it upright breaking, and can see why it would as it’s a little flimsy, but just need to be careful with it. Doesn’t come with a temperature dial, but no waffle iron actually needs one.
The waffles themselves are large, crisp, and the pockets are deep, the true sign of a Belgian waffle and not those eggo style floppy wannabes. Heats up rather quick and has a visual red light indicator when done. While our old iron had an audible alarm when the waffle was finished, this one uses a separate timer, so it may take some trial and error to sort out how much time you actually need depending on the recipe you use (our go-to recipe takes 9-10 minutes) but once it’s dialed in, they are perfect every time.
Definitely recommend.

Do not buy this product. Bought as a Christmas present for my husband and massively disappointed as it has a US plug so is completely un-usable. As it was bought early for Christmas there is no chance of returning it.
Waste of money. Should not be on a UK selling site.

I love how little space it takes up. I just changed the battery in it for the timer. I had been using it without the timer for a few years. We eat a lot of waffles. I spray with small amount of cooking spray about every other waffle. I wipe out with damp cloth after using. Mine heats up fine and I usually flip right after pouring batter in, then I wait till steam almost stops and flip it back. Then I just try raising the lid, if it doesn’t come up easy I wait a few more seconds and it will pop out by itself or just a nudge from a spatula. I came back to see if they on sale to buy my mom one. I see in five years they have doubled in price but I would still get another if mine breaks, yet for now I will just take this one over to my moms to borrow.

We’ve had this waffle iron for 9 years now and have used it at least once a week the whole time. I love how the waffles turn out perfect each time. I love that I can flip it without having a huge flipping mechanism. I’m replacing it with the same one because after 9 years, the nonstick surface is starting to stick (especially with our funky gluten free flour mixes). Love this waffle iron!!
