We learned the hard way……that cheaper is definitely not better. We strayed from Philips because they quit supporting the first generation hub, not to mention they’re just so darn expensive. So we thought, “we’ll show you and just go with another product”. We went with the extra cheap Sengled lights. You truly do get what you pay for. They were terrible! We couldn’t get them to stay connected, and when they finally stopped resetting altogether we decided to crawl back to the Philips Hue system, beg for forgiveness, and upgrade the hub and all of our lights. It’s been a few weeks now and we have not had ONE issue with them connecting. They integrate well with Alexa (even better than the first generation!), and we’re loving all the new scenes that have been introduced since we left. Yes, they’re WAAAYYYYY more expensive, but they work really well. Plus they’re just a lot of fun to mix and match colors, set schedules, and create scenes! The only reason they lose a star is because of the cost. They are quite expensive, but again, totally worth it after the experience we had with those wretched Sengled bulbs!

Good fuctionality with android phone appThese work amazingly though make sure to watch for sales before buying, full price is a bit much for a bulb you will need more than one of most likely

I can turn my lights off from the comfort of my bedI have a couple of these now and my favorite part is that I can program them to wake me up gradually every morning. Although, I wish I didn’t have to set the alarm every night and instead I could set them to wake me up every weekday

Lots of color choices and I use it with my motion sensorBeing hearing impaired, I can never hear people knock on my front door and being on a busy street, I often times have strangers going on my porch and being nearly deaf, it freaks me out. I bought the light and a Hue Sensor. I installed the sensor on the front porch and installed the light in my living room lamp. I programmed the lamp to turn on with a red color if the sensor detects someone (or something) on my front porch, a ‘red alert’ so to speak. This really helps me when someone is delivering my pizza, I can see the red light come on and it means my pizza is here! In the evening, I adjusted the light to come on with a nice crisp blueish light – and it takes getting used to when people come up on the porch and the light switches to red, but I’m very happy with the purchase.

Easy integration, not long livedLove the light output and how easy it is to integrate these lights with Alexa and then set up routines. Unfortunately, the lights don’t appear to have good longevity from a “works with Alexa” perspective. I’ve had multiple lights either fail outright (no light output at all) or fail where they would no longer respond to Alexa. Given that the lights are not cheap, I find that a little frustrating. Will try one more round of replacements and if I experience the same issue, that will be it for the Philips Hue series of lights. The base does get quite warm so I’m guessing something in the electronics is dying due to heat.

Excellent product but do not buy “used”These bulbs are expensive, but well worth the money in my opinion. It seems like some people have trouble with Alexa integration; I have the Hue Hub as well as Alexa devices and haven’t had any problems at all. I recommend the Hub because you get a lot more customization of lighting scenes and I think you’re able to choose a wider range of colors as well. I would like to warn anyone who wants a thinking of buying “used” Hue bulbs from Amazon Warehouse – DON’T DO IT! I thought I’d save a few bucks that way, but out of 3 bulbs only one was an actual Hue Color bulb. The other two were random light bulbs that someone put in a Hue box and returned. Obvious there is very little quality control on the part of Amazon regarding returns.
