We have a fundamental belief that all of our products must solve a meaningful problem. We’re constantly searching for the problems—and potential problems—that consumers encounter every day. It starts with an insight, whether it’s from our research panel, a response on social media, or a comment from a friend; we keep our eyes and ears open. We tirelessly send out surveys, conduct focus groups, and watch how you use a product at home, in the office or even on the train (sorry if that sounds creepy). We put in a lot of time during the research phase to ensure our designers have the information needed to get to the root of the problem. Our first insight was, “I wish I had a mug that didn’t leak or spill”.

After a defective bottle, new bottle received from customer serviceUpdate: I contacted Contigo’s customer service at gocontigo.com. After providing a PDF receipt from my Amazon purchase, along with some photos of the defective bottle, they sent me a new bottle free of charge. This new one does not leak; I have used it daily for a week now with both hot and cold beverages and have had no problems. Still disappointed about the volume markings, but that’s no big deal. As to my concerns about being BPA free, customer service wrote:”No worries, our research lab spends countless hours developing safe, innovative drinkware products that are designed for everyday use. All materials and end products that we use are approved and tested to applicable food contact laws. All of our water bottles are BPA and BPS free, Phthalate-free and Latex-free.Many are also made from FDA approved Eastman Tritan. Eastman Tritan is far more durable than a traditional plastic and helps resist against stains and odors. Our gaskets are made from high-quality, durable, food-safe silicone and are BPA-free.Validation that this plastic is BPA-free is supported by robust testing by independent third-party accredited laboratories.Your health and safety are of the utmost concern to us. Please contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.”I was very pleased with the level of customer service that I received from the agent.___Original review [one star]:As a replacement for my Camelbak I bought this Contigo 24 ounce bottle, licorice color. Terrible decision. I love the design of the cap but it fails in its most basic obligation–it leaks. I use this bottle for my coffee; I put in the sugar and cream, then the coffee. I screw on the cap and shake it and it spills all over. I make sure the button is locked; I make sure not to push the button; I make to screw the cap on very tightly and I flip the spout cover closed. None of this matters, though, as the coffee comes out through the spout.Another negative is that I wanted a BPA free product. The Amazon page states that both the lid and the bottle are BPA free, but nowhere on the bottle or the lid is there text that reads that. Did I get what I paid for? I don’t know; I have no way of knowing if this is BPA free. As for the measurement, I liked that my Camelbak had lines for 8, 16 and 24 ounces. This bottle only has a line at 24. Finally, nowhere in the Amazon page does it warn that this bottle is only for cold or room temperature liquids. It is only after you receive it that you learn it is not supposed to be used with hot liquids.I thought 8,000+ reviews meant a pretty solid product, especially with so many stars. This has been a complete waste of almost $20. I will contact the vendor and see what can be done, otherwise it will go in the recycling bin.

As good as my previous Contigo bottles, just one minor complaintI have been buying Contigo bottles for years, using them weekly, and have always been happy with them. When the lid on one broke (after 10+ years), I looked for a replacement and noticed they had updated the design, so I gave it a try. This one is every bit as good as the ones I have used in the past. I think it is the most convenient and easy to use drink bottle. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have intermediate oz markings on the bottle like many of my existing Contigo bottles do (8/16/24oz marks). It’s a minor quibble, but a feature I wish they had kept.

Looks niceIt’s a nice looking bottle with drinking options(straw etc) but doesn’t work any better then a bottle my wife has-purchased at half the price from a WallyWorld store.

Contigo lifer hereI’ve had many contigos over the years, I love the new design. Last one had issues with the seal breaking over time. They changed that and I’m loving it. The lock is absolutely a must.

impossible to spillMy favorite type of water bottle because you have to be pressing the button for water to come out so it does spill if you tip it over.

Must haveLet’s just say that after 2-3 weeks I lost my bottle and was just about to buy another one when I got it back. I think that should say it all. It’s perfect for cycling, it doesn’t spill and it contains about the right amount of water. If you want your water to stay colder longer get the stainless steel version BUT stainless steel can be difficult to handle on a hot, hot, hot day. Best solution – buy both and swap after your plastic bottle is empty.

No leaks!Perfect. I used to buy Contigo brand from Costco, but they’ve stopped carrying this style. These don’t leak, have a flap to cover the opening from dirt, are easy to drink from, easy to clean.
