We have a fundamental belief that all of our products must solve a meaningful problem. We’re constantly searching for the problems—and potential problems—that consumers encounter every day. It starts with an insight, whether it’s from our research panel, a response on social media, or a comment from a friend; we keep our eyes and ears open. We tirelessly send out surveys, conduct focus groups, and watch how you use a product at home, in the office or even on the train (sorry if that sounds creepy). We put in a lot of time during the research phase to ensure our designers have the information needed to get to the root of the problem. Our first insight was, “I wish I had a mug that didn’t leak or spill”.

They fixed the clip on the handle so it shouldn’t breakThis is my 10th bottle from Contigo all of the others were prone to breaking where the clip met the other handle. Problem resolved with that.

Saves my neck! Not having to lift it up to drink is a great plus. So far it’s the best design I’ve found for a water bottle.

It’s a bottleLot good quality in my opinion. Bottle stickers didn’t want to really stay on. Flp cap on 1 Bottle doesn’t close well for

Convenient but not sturdy to my expectation.Happy to use this water bottle for hiking for a month. then the tragedy happened in the next hiking: the bottle dropped when pulled from the pocket of the backpack. The sprout hinge is damaged rendering it non functional. I have to open the whole cover to drink from the bottle dirctly for the rest of the multi-day trip.My previous water bottle has been in service for 10 years and still works solidly, but it doesn’t have a straw! My gears ain’t pricy but they have to be sturdy and reliable in the outdoor. Contigo won’t go hiking with me again.

Awkward straw angleMy daughter has the kids version of this cup, it has a solid straw that is angled so that the straw always had liquid when the bottle is tipped. This version has a flexible straw that lies anywhere. You have to change the tilt your drinking at to get the final 2 inches of liquid.

It’s noisy.I like the one handed spout with straw which is my reason for purchasing. However, after a few uses it started making an annoyingly noisy sucking sound. It makes me feel self conscious at public gatherings. And I just found it really annoying even when I’m alone.I think I will replace it with another brand if I can’t fix it.

Nice and easy to useI really like the size of this water bottle in the way it feels in your hand. I also love the way the button releases. The spout is comfortable to suck. The only reason I would not give it five stars is because sometimes the spout flicks a little water when it opens.

Drinking is comfortable and easy, but the lock does not workDrinking is comfortable and easy, but the lock does not work

System not as good a previous Contigo model with strawWas good until it stayed locked, became leaky. Lasted less long than the previous model (only a few months) before it broke. Not for daily use or for a family (dropping things!). The straw also has to be angled specifically or it doesn’t work. Sometimes during bike rides, had to stop and open and replace it because motion had moved it.

Easy to clean, light weightI have a singular gripe with this bottle: when you press the button to release the spout, it sorays water out. Not a huge amount, but enough that it’s hit me in the eye or gotten someone a couple feet away from me.Other than that, it’s been super useful for hiking/the gym/work/whatever. It’s extremely portable and easy to wash quickly.
