Solid jug!Overall, I love this jug. Compared to some other large jugs, this is by far the best. I love the locking spout guard and it’s spring action. So far, I have had zero leakage when the guard is in place. The wide mouth opening when the top is off is great as well. I do use ice, so this makes filling it with ice a simple task. The straw is slightly larger than most jugs I have had and it’s length actually goes all the way to the bottom for those last desperate sips. Solid build and nicely designed rubber-htipped handle – it doesn’t protrude out so much like other brands/styles which keeps the overall design cylindrical and streamlined. No broken handles will be had here, from even a 10ft drop. The spout itself is a nice rubbery texture and not some hard plastic that will break down and potentially be injested (another brand I’ve had in the past had a plastic spout which broke down after awhile and chipped… Thus causing me to swallow plastic chunks). So kuddos to the R&D team on this safe and effective spout. While I like the wide mouth opening, I am flummoxed as to why they only chose two threads instead of three to hold the lid on. As other reviewers have posted, under certain weight of liquid or pulling of the lid by the top handle, it will come off. This presents a spill danger – leak-proof design, yes, spill proof, no. One other minor annoyance is where the straw usually ends up (without ice in the chamber). When using the jug with the handle on the right side and the spout facing front in the drinking position, the straw ends up being blocked on the flat-surfaced sidewall in such a way as to prevent any liquid from being sucked up when down to about 8oz or less. One has to unscrew, slightly bend straw, carefully screw back on, try again a few times, in order to make sure the straw ends up near “6 oclock” so when it angles for the last sips, it sits where the liquid is gathered. Drinking the last sips at a 90° angle is quite awkward, especially laying down in bed.Overall – love this mug! Would like to see some accessories become available, like a neoprene boot or an insulating jacket for the condensation (I like iced drinks, okay?). I just wrap a towel around it for now, when I need to set it in my belly or wood furniture. 🙂 For the price, this jug is great, though!

These are a godsend, can’t recommend them enoughI’m prone to vasovagal syncope (fainting) and I had to go to urgent care recently because the last time I passed out, my head hit the pedal of a bicycle leaning against the wall, and I had scratches on my face and got acute tinnitus from the head impact. As part of my treatment plan, my doctor told me that I will probably always need more water than the average person, and recommended I drink at least 10 cups of water per day to prevent future fainting episodes. I decided why not round up and try and drink a daily gallon (16 cups), so I grabbed 2 of these babies and I’ve never been more motivated to drink water throughout the day. The comfy handle and straw and mouth thingy and super simple and quick opener latch make this a dream for mindfully drinking water. As long as the bottle is next to me, I’ll be drinking water without even thinking about it, and whereas before I was drinking maybe 4-6 cups of water per day whenever I remembered, now I easily finish 2 of these bottles without even counting how many ounces I’m drinking, every day. The colors are subtle and super cute (I have the baby blue one and it fits my minimalist neutral aesthetic). One thing to note is that I wish they made one without the time markings on the sides, because it doesn’t help me to be told when to drink water, and it doesn’t adhere to my water drinking schedule anyway since I drink two. But I couldn’t find anything this good without the timestamps, at least not on Amazon. Other than that, it’s great, it’s been so helpful and convenient, and it might just be saving my life.

Good jug, but not perfect.Zulu products overall are a little more smart in design than most other water bottles I’ve found over the years—their openings are wider for better flow, the designs are better thought out, and cleaning them is far superior to more complex bottles. The Goals half-gallon is pretty decent for all-day indoor use, if a bit obnoxious in size for an office desk environment—but that just means less trips to the water cooler and bosses like that. It has a printed readout suggestion to show your hourly consumption rate, a nice comfortable silicone/rubber-like grip inside the handle to get your hand through, and the nozzle while flat regulates a nice smooth flow to pour or drink from. The larger handle is also on the side from the designed nozzle’s horizontal flow, making turning it over to pour into a glass or one’s mouth quite convenient, as it works for left and right handed individuals simply by placing the cap on 90 degrees opposite of the preferred hand and rotating 180 (if you get it wrong, just try it the opposite way and you’ll get it).It also has a reliable lock to prevent accidental pressings of the snap cover lid Zulu has perfected with other bottles (it also makes a satisfying soft pop when you press the cap release and it taps the lid handle).Cleaning is a snap as you can fit an average hand inside the lid to clean out messier or sticky drinks, and the handle is closed off to allow a more solid build when picking up the bottle—it won’t collapse over time like other with hollow handles). You’ll remember the mention of “indoor” bottle—that’s because this isn’t an insulated bottle and condensation in a warm environment (say an average summer’s day) will make the bottle sweat madly and melt any ice fairly easily from sun rays as the jugs are transparent. There is a sturdy handle on the side of the lid that you would think would be able to support the weight of a full bottle—unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Twice the tightly closed lid popped off when full, sending it crashing to the floor and spilling its contents (fortunately it was only water, but a quarter gallon or more flowed out before recovery). This handle should only be used when dealing with transporting volumes of half or less, but one mishap is enough to rely solely on the inlaid grip for transport (think gallons of milk). It lacks any sort of grip on the bottom of the base, but for carpets or desktops this shouldn’t be an issue. For those needing larger amounts of liquids or just want to save time from getting up a couple times, the Zulu Goals is still a solid choice, but would be best for those indoor users and can lift with the larger handle reliably. Overall, a solid product, but definitely needs improvement with the lid’s reliability to be picked up when full.

Love the handle and lidsThe lid is easy to clean and it has a lock so it won’t accidentally open. The handle is very sturdy. In my option this is the perfect size water bottle.

Purple colour is nice.I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate the versatility of having the two handles, one on the lid and bottleSilicone straw is great and sips well. The writing on the side will eventually run off but I don’t mind, I don’t follow the guide anyway. The bottle will leak. I use it for home only (I drink a lot so less trips to the kitchen) so I really don’t mind.

Lid leaked and broke off constantly but company offered perfect replacement!First off…. no more super cringey fonts used for my volume tracker like some of the competition out there on half gallon bottles. But like some of the 1 star reviews, my bottle leaked horribly, I couldnt fully close the lid without it loosening again, and it would break off when I held it from the lid’s hook; which resulted in my entire kitchen covered in water.I emailed Zulu’s contact page and the sent me a new bottle of the same model with none of the problems!!! So I guess it was a manufacturing quality issue. Now I love my bottle.
