Installed easily with no problems. 2 minutesI chose this over generic to replace my S5500 system filter because this one says it filters lead and the others say they do not. Didn’t have any problem installing like everyone else said. It took me two minutes (plus running it for fifteen minutes after installation, as instructed to flush the charcoal). Comes with instructions and replacement watch battery. Good flow after first five minutes. I used my last one for a year without degraded flavor. Thought I shouldn’t push it any longer.

Make a mount bracket to simplify thingI read most of the reviews before I ordered this filter so I knew there was an issue trying to install the filter in the mount. Was unable to find it anywhere so I decided to try it.Delivery was quick and the price was pretty good. I turned off the water and bled the line before installing. I had the same issue trying to get the new filter to install and lock in place. It’s just so tight, it will not lock in position. I tried the wiggling from side to side and the turning, and the jamming, to the extent I knocked the mount off the side of the cabinet. After settling my nerves and trying to compose I got back on it and started from square one.The solution I came up with. Remove the mount from the cabinet, turn it sideways and shove the cartridge into position. Use the side wall of the cabinet as a backstop so you can gain leverage and force it in place. Once in place turn the filter slightly to lock it in place. Remount the bracket on the cabinet wall.I think Moen needs to check their manufacturing specs on that filter and bracket. Somethings not right.On my second filter install I did what I should have done on the first. Made a short wooden mount bracket to mount the filter bracket to.This allows you to easily push the filter into the mount and screw the whole filter and bracket inside the cabinet. Moen should make the mounting holes fall outside the cartridge.

I’d like removal and installation to require less forceTough to uninstall the old one.I have to use a tool to pry it get moving down. Can’t really just pull down as it feels like I’m going to rip it off the wall.Pushing replacement filter back in can be tricky too. But once it’s in it’s worth the hassle.

So much better than dragging plastic water bottles home.These filters remove every hint of chlorine in my kitchen tap water. I can smell chlorine every time I turn on our unfiltered tap. I cannot drink most restaurant water due to chlorine smell as my nose is too sensitive. So very happy with my tap water now. I use this filtered water in my cooking, drinking water, ice cube trays, and teas and coffees. So happy I don’t need to drag water home. Had a beautiful Moen filtered water faucet installed in kitchen sink and good to go with these filters. It is advised that you run a bit of water away time before using after a time passes since last use. It cleans out any water remaining stagnate in the filter.

Reliable Source for Water FilterArrived as expected. We use the Moen filter for our built-in water filter at our sink. We want the brand name Moen and won’t skimp on quality. It also come with a battery to install when you change out the cartridge and reminds you to change the cartridge. Very happy with ordering it from Amazon for the price ($35) and convenience of having it delivered. Recommend.

Replacing Filter Can be a HassleI bought the Moen Filtration System S5500 in late spring 2016. This review ties in with the first time I had to replace the filter. The Moen system and all my faucets were put in by a professional, so doing filter replacement was the first time I had to tinker with this. Getting the filter off was a challenge; I found taking a flat head screwdriver and wedging it between the filter top and the bracket helped in prying it off. I could not get the replacement on after spending a ridiculous amount trying. I put the filter that came with the system back on with no problem. As other reviewers have written about this same issue with replacements, there’s got to be a manufacturing flaw with the Made in China filter.I called Moen, they sent a replacement. The replacement also won’t go on all the way. Took the replacement out, put the original filter that came with the system back in. After much frustration, I took the system out, disconnected the lines to the beverage faucet and supply. Turn the thing upside down and jammed it in there hard. I think the problem with this thing is that you can’t get enough leverage to use enough for to get the filter in when it is all connected to the mounting bracket.I had a Moen AquaSuite water filtration system which used the 9001 filter in my last house. That was easy to put on and off while in the bracket. Apparently much better design than this one. I miss that now obsolete system.I’m a one person household with pets and everyone gets filtered drinking water. The filter truly was only good for six months, as I had started to see a lot of floating particles in it. So, I wouldn’t hope for getting much more time out of this than six months.
