PIT BOSS ELK BURGER RECIPE
4 BURGER BUNS – 2 LBS GROUND ELK – 1 JALEPENO, SLICED – 1/2 TBSP BUTTER
– 4 PIECES GREEN LEAF LETTUCE – 4 PICKLED CARROTS – TO TASTE, BLACKENED – SRIRACHA RUB SEASONING – TO TASTE, CILANTRO MAYONNAISE
- Place ground elk in a mixing bowl and season with Blackened Sriracha. Divide into 4 portions, then form into large patties.
- Fire up your Pit Boss Griddle and preheat to medium flame. If using a gas or charcoal grill, set it up for medium heat and use a cast iron skillet.
- Place butter on the left side of the griddle and let melt. Place buns on the left side (on melted butter), and burger patties on the right side.
- Toast the buns, then turn off the burner, keeping the buns in place to keep warm. Cook the burgers 2 to 3 minutes per side, then remove from the griddle and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
- Assemble burger: bottom bun, cilantro mayonnaise, lettuce, burger, pickled carrots, sliced jalapeño, cilantro mayonnaise on top bun.

Broke literally the 1st time I tried using itI have a Pit Boss smoker, and generally have found their accessories very sturdy and well made albeit a bit higher priced than others. I bought this injector thinking it would be nothing but the same but to my surprise the very 1st time I tried injecting with it one of the side wings broke straight off, just snapped on the 1st push, pretty pathetic. I was offered a replacement but looking at it this is an obvious weak point so I decided to just go with the refund and go with the Ofargo 304 I was 1st looking at that may be a bit more but it solid stainless-steel all around. Hopefully mine was just some bad one-off and yours will be fine but for me I was unwilling to take the chance, having the injector with a big needle on it snap like that in the middle of a push is a bit dangerous, and for me for it to do it on the 1st push was a sign to move on.

Very satisfiedAnything Pit Boss that I have ordered is excellent from magnets to seasonings and now the injector… very pleased

Great for injecting thicker sauces or flavorsI have been looking for a larger needle and heavy duty enough a injector to inject cream cheese into chicken. This one works perfectly with the largest needle in the set.

Breaks easilyIt’s nice but the plastic piece where your fingers grip during injecting breaks off of the threads it threads onto. It’s the cheap plastic threads in all actuality. I used it 3 times and that’s when it broke on me.

Looks durable..it isn’t.I used the injector one time to spruce up a pork shoulder with added seasoning. During by second usage the plastic barrel part snapped its ears off where you push together with your fingers by cracking right through the threads cut into the plastic. Needs to be MUCH more sturdy.
