Effective Oil Dispenser LidPicked this up along with a bunch of other random mason jar lids, as I don’t have a great option for dispensing oil when cooking, and I tend to buy it in bulk or just large bottles that are cumbersome to use regularly.Currently I’m using a glass bottle that held coffee concentrate, because it had a bottle cap that limited the flow rate nicely and prevented backflow, which tends to be the issue I face with oil containers. Problem is that cap doesn’t come out, and it’s nearly impossible to fill the bottle even with the ridiculously tiny funnel I have.Obviously this fixes that issue, as it’s on a mason jar, and I could pour oil straight from the gallon container with no worries, and have it filled in seconds. Pouring from the spout is also very nice, I didn’t notice any backflow, and the gaskets on the rim keep it sealed on the jar itself. While that seal is strong, the end cap doesn’t fit perfectly, so that part isn’t leak-proof, if that’s a concern.Other than that not much to say, it works as expected and looks pretty decent. Possible you may need a plastic rim instead of a metal one, but I haven’t had it long enough to know if rust is going to be an issue.

does not stay closed if turned upside down and jar is fullI really liked to be able to have this to use for homemade dressing or leftover liquids and keep them easy to use again. However, if you do not hold the lid closed while shaking or turning sideways or upside down, it tends to pop open. Also, be sure to tighten the lid very firmly or else leaks around the lid happen. Not fun, but now I know to keep a hold when shaking. Not bad overall for the price.

Hard to put onI bought this item without reading the reviews. Once I got it and I couldn’t get it to work came to check the reviews and saw all the bad comments. I thought immediately to return it but before I tried asking my husband to help. Luckily he made it work. You have to screw the lid with a lot of strength while pushing down on the Jar really hard. I’m so happy he made them work.

Easy to useI love that I can use this on any regular mouth jar to make buying bulk oil easier to use. However I don’t know if it’s just mine or all but the cap doesn’t stay in. It did a better job staying in until I regularly used the oil. Then the oil that stays inside the spout kept the cap from staying closed. Otherwise this works great.

Stopper doesn’t seal well.I ordered this to use in our camper. The spout easily snapped into the jar ring and screwed onto the jar snugly. The stopper was a little loose to start with but once I added the oil to the jar and oil got in the spout the stopper is even looser. My concern is that it will pop out as the camper bumps along. It would be better if it snapped in instead of just being pressed in. Up side, when I poured the oil it didn’t drip.There is a vent hole in the lid so don’t consider this spill proof.

DripsI order this to use for my cooking oil and olive oils. The spout does drip and run after use but I just wipe it down.UPDATEI now have had these for a couple of months and have replaced them with adifferent product because the kids keep popping out and will not stay closed .

Loved them… at first.I was SO excited about these at first! I don’t have a ton of cabinet space and use mason jars for as much as I can to be more efficient. These lids don’t take up a lot of space, and I bought some whisk balls to pair with them to make my own salad dressing. SCORE! Well, there are some issues. As some pointed out, the lids are a bit of a trick to assemble in the mason jar ring so they don’t leak. You have to push them in until they snap. OK. That works – they don’t leak, for the price we can deal, right? (Now, if you shake your dressing to mix it, do be aware that you’ll need to put your thumb over the vent hole and hold the stopper flap on.) The first real problem I encountered is that the little rubber stopper flap pops off the pour spout when there is any kind of oil on it. With salad dressing, there is typically oil in the pour spout, so this is a poor design and shortens the shelf life in the fridge. The biggest problem though, is that the pressure required to snap these into mason jar lids is great enough that it eventually warps the METAL of the mason jar ring. Yes, seriously, the indestructible metal mason jar ring! We have owned several of these Jarwear spouts for 4 months now, and I am leaving this review because I am currently shopping for a replacement. We’ve reached the point where neither my husband or I want the job of taking these suckers apart to wash them, because they are so impossible to pull apart and clean, and finally the metal of the jar lid developed a sharp corner from pushing the lid out. Yikes! No longer safe, so goodbye to the Jarware. Bummer!

Excellent while it lasted.Purchased this in April of 2020 due to having plenty of mason jars leftover from daughters wedding. Love having a country kitchen theme as well. These are perfect for that. They easily fit into the ringed lid and once tightened stay in place. They are easy to use and had no problem with dripping either. The bad is that after a couple of months I noticed that on one of the jars the spouts plug would not always stay in place unless I held it in for a couple of seconds. At the 1 year mark it went from holding it in place for a couple of seconds to several seconds and then 6 months later it would not stay closed at all. This only happened to one of the spout lids so maybe it was defective. I don’t have any problems with the other. I have since ordered another so I’ll see how that works out. Both are used for cooking oil. Olive and vegetable.

Hard to Mount But A Perfect Solution OverallI bought four of these cruet lid tops for mason jars. I keep Olive, Vegetable, and Sesame oils near where I cook and preferred having a pour/storage capability. The last couple of pouring jars I bought were horrible and didn’t last long at all.These are a perfect solution for me and do just what I need them to do. They are not without issues, though.First, they are VERY hard to get mounted correctly. I have arthritis in my hands and wasn’t sure I’d be able to get them in at all, but I kept working at it and eventually was able to get them all on properly. Because they are so tightly mounted there is no leakage around the lid.Second, there is an air hole in the top and the contents will leak through that small hole if you aren’t careful. Be mindful.Third, the pour spout lid is handy because it comes up so readily, but it also means that it’s easy to get oil spilling on the overall lid from the spout lid, or even dribbling down the side of the pour spout once you pour. I keep a paper towel or cloth at hand so I can wipe that bit off before it becomes messy.Otherwise these are the perfect solution that I was looking for to store and handily use my oils without having to drag out my large containers every time.
