So happy with this little device! I was afraid that it wouldn’t make enough because it was so small. It made so much more than my normal rice pot. I added salmon and veggies to the steamer, on top, and 20 minutes later there’s a meal.
Now I do have a couple of minor complaints. The instructions are EXTREMELY vague. So if you’re struggling with ratios of rice to water, L is for liquid and you use the little measuring cup that comes with it, to measure rice. Maximum is three cups of rice. There are three lines for liquid, to correspond with how many cups of rice. After that, put your veggies or meat in the steamer, or you can just put the lid straight onto the rice pot. Push the button and walk away.
My other minor complaint is that I wish the steamer was just a little deeper, for more meat and veggies.
But overall, I’m extremely happy. One pot easily made enough to feed four people. I have so much leftover that I had to put in the fridge. I can even take it to work!!!!

My 20 years old rice cooker died and I needed a new one. I love the red color of this one. It makes great Jasmine Rice every single time. As per the instructions for a softer rice, I do add just a few tablespoons extra water to get to the consistency I prefer. I like that the lid has a small hole where steam can release during cooking. My old rice cooker did not have one and was extremely messy during the cooking process. I have not yet tried to cook a brown rice or other items with this rice cooker. I am sure it will do the job, though. To me the only negative is that the handles are plastic and do not feel as sturdy as I am used to. I hope they will hold up over the long term use of the rice cooker. Overall, I do recommend this rice cooker. It makes a full 6 cups of cooked rice with ease. It has a small footprint, therefore it will not take up too much storage space at all. But why would one want to hide it inside a cabinet because the red is cheerful and attractive?!

So I wasn’t a big rice eater, but I like rice and found it was a pain cooking on the stovetop. This little item has changed me! I probably eat rice every other day or so now because it is so easy to make. Not only is it easy to use, it’s also easy to clean, really easy. And the rice that comes out of it is phenomenal, just right every time.
I found out that a full “cup” was too much for me in a single serving. The “cup” I am referring to is the one that came with the cooker. It’s not a measured cup, if you filled it and dumped into a measuring cup you’ll see it’s about 3/4 of a US Std Cup. I found that by measuring out a real 1/2 cup, not the included cup, makes a decent single serving for me. I then add water until it’s about 3/4 of the way to the lowest mark on the side of the cooker. Once the rice is cooked and the indicator pops to warm mode, I then stir up the rice and let it sit until I’m ready to eat. I’ve actually let it sit up to 1.5 hours and it tasted just as good as eating it right away.
I’ve noticed that now it makes a clicking sound every now and then, but it doesn’t appear to be hurting anything.

This is actually better than a microwave and more versatile. I like it so much I got for the home and another for the office. I just carry the teflon/cover/steamer to wash from the office to home. I can steam eggs, veggies, frozen. Healthier choices than fast-food at my desk or kitchen.
PRO:
1. Best thing to a small rice cooker and steamer for 1 or 2 people.
2. Teflon coating is decent so it doesn’t stick like others.
3. Its small and light to carry for traveling (camping, office, etc)
4. Aluminum steamer is great, light, easy to clean. I have a bamboo steamer, but prefer to use instead.
CON:
1. Cord is TOO SHORT ~2feet (add extra AWG to be at least be 6 feet) to avoid using an extension.
2. Pieces can’t interlock in place so falls whenever moving it like smaller travel rice cookers.
2. It’s much larger than the mini-travel rice cookers in diameter.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT in DESIGN:
1. Steamer kept aluminum but able to sink into pot w/ just water or out of pot of making Rice.
2. An audible timer on the cooker to quickly set, forget, and return when you hear it.
3. Longer cord to avoid using an extension cord.
4. Add locking mechanism so parts don’t fall apart and be carried like other travel rice cookers.

I ordered this little rice steamer to replace an older one I had that had seen better days! I’m very impressed with this new one. It has a non-stick surface, which is one of the best things about it! It’s very easy to clean, and it doesn’t burn the rice on the bottom of the pan. It also has a little steamer basket that you can sit on top of the main pan, and then the lid goes on top of the steamer. So, you can cook your rice and steam some vegetables or whatever else you want, at the same time! It also comes with a nice little plastic paddle scooper to serve up your rice, and if you’re a little careful, it won’t scratch the non-stick finish. If you decide to order one of these, do read the directions, but notice that there are numbers with lines on the inside of the pan. Those numbers coincide with the number of cups of rice you want to cook. It does come with a little cup, and you fill your rice to the very brim of that cup. So for instance if you wanted to cook two of those cups of rice, you would fill the water in the pan to the number two line. The numbers are a little hard to see, but if you measure your water and rice this way, you will have perfect rice every time. The instruction booklet has instructions for steaming other types of rice and other things, so check it out!

The product advertises as: Aroma Arc-743-1Ngr 3-Cup, Uncooked 6-Cup, Cooked Rice Cooker and Food Steamer, Red Do not let this misleading headline fool you. The cup they give you is not a real cup measure and is way smaller that a measured cup. At best the unit can cook only 1 “real” cup of raw rice. It is very small and if you try to cook 2 cups the end result is not good. I have been cooking rice, daily for more than 40 years and the B&D unit works just fine and will use the trust old B&D unit. This product was a total FAIL. Misleading and not worth the money. Will have to return it or just dump it.

This little steamer is amazing. So super easy. We’ve been eating brown rice lately for better health and this makes it so wonderful. Just add the rice and water and leave it for 40 minutes. It is the best brown rice I’ve ever had. And if you want a steamed veggie, we’ve done broccoli and carrots, just add them to the top basket about 15 minutes before the rice is done. Everything tastes so good it doesn’t need any toppings or seasoning. It’s odd to hear my husband asking for steamed broccoli and brown rice. It’s small, perfect for two people. Easy clean up too.
