I use this very often for rise and different types of grains. I never leave it unsupervised and I do lift the lid if I feel is needed. If you want a device to do it all unattended, maybe this is not it. I love the compact size and the ability to remove to insert for serving, cleaning or storing. The cleaning is easy and putting it out of side after you are done with it is very easy.
I would recommend this product for a small household.

I love how easy it is to prepare rice with this. It’s quick and perfectly cooked every time.
If you make rice often enough to have this but are having trouble keeping it from bubbling over, I cannot stress enough: WASH YOUR RICE. Get a rice strainer and wash your rice until the water is clear. Washing your rice is more important than having a rice cooker.

Worked well in the first month. Today the cooker kept going and ended up burning the bottom. Did not auto shut off. Luckily was able to avoid a fire as I unplugged the rice cooker. I have used rice cookers most of my adult life and this was a first time something like this ever happened!
Very disappointed and will be writing to Amazon for a refund!

I was very impressed with the quality of this cooker. It is very well made with a heavy duty stainless steel bowl, glass top and heavy plastic body. It is surprisingly well made for a cooker that costs less than $35.00, including tax.
My first outing with the gadget was great as the rice was cooked to perfection in about 20 minutes without boiling over or needing any attention. The only problem was that a goodly quantity of rice stuck to the bottom of the cook pot and was somewhat difficult to clean off. I’m not sure that a bit of Pam might solve that problem, though.
One thing to be aware of is that, other than the Amazon 30 day return guarantee, the cooker’s “One Year Warranty” is virtually useless. Between the cost of shipping the cooker to a repair facility and including the required $20.00 for the return shipment, you might as well just buy a new one.

got this rice cooker because i wanted something mini but without the nonstick bowl and this fit the bill perfectly. It makes enough rice for 3 adults for a meal and then some and makes it fast. the only thing is that rice sticks to the bottom of the bowl, but if you just let it soak in water overnight, everything comes right off. i think we’ll pour some broth in next time and just let it cook the stuck on rice into a porridge. even with the stuck on rice, i’d still recommend this over the ones with the nonstick bowls.

It fits perfectly in my tiny kitchen. It replaced my VERY old cooker I had. One of the reviewers said the cooker spewed water & steam out the vent in the lid. When I first used mine – yes, it did that as well, but I found that if you add a little more water (not a lot – try 1/8 cup – increase the next time if it still does this) to it in the beginning, it will NOT do that, and will not cause the rice to be mushy. I have had PERFECT rice and clean counters since. On the other end, if you DON’T put enough water in it, rice will stick to the bottom, or even burn up, causing bad reviews.

I like this rice cooker; easy to operate and healthier choice because of stainless steel pot.

This is the best rice cooker I have ever used! It is simple to use (one switch) and easy to clean (just 2 part: pot and lid). It is safe with food grade stainless steel. And of course, the rice cooks perfectly every time! I gave away a 10 year old Aroma cooker to a student – it still functions fine. I bought myself a different brand one with more options – big mistake! There were so many tiny little parts to clean and on top of that the non-stick began to chip. I bought the stainless steel pot Aroma Rice Cooker again and am HAPPY!

I’ve used this several times now for making either Basmati or Jasmine rice and I have to say it does work like a dream. It cooks in around 25 minutes. The cooker automatically switches to warm once the rice is done. I find if I leave it in the warmer for too long it does tend to stick to the bottom. So, I just set a timer and remove the rice once it’s done.
The measuring cup that comes with this cooker is actually 3/4 cup, so I use their measure, as they advise.
I usually cook 2 cups (that is two 3/4 cups) of rinsed dried basmati rice to 2 cups (two 3/4 cups) water, and I’d say that’s about the perfect amount for this cooker. Each type of rice has different rice to water ratios, so just check and follow the instructions on your bag. Some rice also has separate instructions for pot rice vs stove. I think if you do a straight conversion to their measuring cup it works well.
Cleaning is a breeze, I fill and soak the inner pot with water and leave it for a while and it cleans up with minimal effort. I either hand wash the lid or put it in the dishwasher. The actual outer pot itself just gets a wipe down once it’s cooled. It’s small so doesn’t take up too much cupboard space.

I really like this rice/grain cooker. I use it mostly to cook quinoa. I read a few reviews stating that this stainless pot was difficult to clean after use, but I have not seen that to be true. It is functioning beautifully for me. I bought this to replace a similar unit, but which had the non-stick coating in the pot.
I have not had have to scrub off any stuck-on food in the pot and I am happy about that. I am so pleased to NOT have to deal with scratched non-stick coating in the pot. I am sure residue from the scratches on non-stick coated pots can get into my body and cannot be good for my health.
I’d buy this rice cooker again.
