Well, it was a lot extra to make scalloped potatoes but worth it. They are the perfect thickness. I may be able to slice cold, firm meat for sandwiches, haven’t tried that yet. Also certain veggies like carrots, celery, peppers and others I haven’t thought of yet. I am not sure about tomatoes; the thicker blade would be better if it works for those. What is so wonderful about this 2mm disc is I seldom made scalloped potatoes because I had to use a box grater and made a very large batch; that is hard on my fingers and tedious. For tomatoes, I do have a hand slicer that works very well. I may add a photo next time I make something. I think I mentioned this on the food processor review; I have a lot going now.

The blade fits my old prep 7. It sliced my turkey ‘ham’ roast in thin even ices lightening fast. Just like a butcher. Thrilled.

Great blade. Slices things very fine in a jiffy. Works as I had hoped.

This blade cuts really thin slices and it is simplicity itself to clean. I love it. Most Highly Recommended.

So these are the 2mm slicing blade for Cuisinart food processors. I own the Cuisinart DLC-10S Pro Classic 7-Cup model (this one http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-DLC-10S-Classic-7-Cup-Processor/dp/B00004S9EM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407520280&sr=8-2&keywords=cuisinart+food+processor) and this slicing disc fits perfectly on the stem that came with my unit.
So i bought this primarily to slice potatoes into thin enough slices for microwaving into potato chips. I tried that in the past with the 4mm disc that came with my Cuisinart processor and it was too thick. The microwave chip set i bought on amazon came with a slicer but it was a hand slicer and i wanted to use something that was easier. I figured that this 2mm disc should be perfect so I finally broke down and bought it.
So the good is, it’s thinner than the 2mm disc and certainly is better. The bad news is, 2mm is still kinda too thick for chips x___x It’s not impossible to eat, but i noticed that it certainly is still thick-ish compared to potato chips that we buy on the market. Granted the deep fried ones are always crispier, and I noticed the baked potato chips (even commercial ones we bought) are typically thicker. Maybe that’s just how it’s gonna be. Still, I’m kinda sad that 2mm is still thicker than how the hand slicer slices the potato. The hand slicer must be 1mm slices or something…
Still, this makes life a lot easier when trying to make the chips, and I probably shouldn’t be eating the chips like snack anyway. When they’re thicker, they feel more like solid starchy food that should be eaten with a meal like how rice is eaten with a dish.
It’s also kinda nice to use the potato chips as a dipping chip and make my own avocado dip/guac to eat together. YUMMY.
Unfortunately I can’t really think of what else I can do with this 2mm disc other than slicing potatos for chip making. For apples, depending on the type, the 4mm disc might actually be better since there’s so much more water content and apples are typically softer, so when they’re too thin they might break/disintegrate when you try to move them. With apple slices, i was able to use the 4mm disc and after drying, the apple slices are a lot thinner once they loose water.
In other words, i bought the 2mm disc for one specific job that it only did soso at, which is a huge bummer. :\ If anyone have some suggestions/ideas on what else i can use the 2mm slicer for, please let me know!

A better size slice than the standard slicing disc that comes with the cuisinart esp.for coleslaw or cucumbers destined for pickles.

Contrary to Amazon’s fitment chart, this doesn’t fit the 14 cup model.
Return process was fast and easy.
5 stars for excellent product. Just not for my model food processor.
Honest opinion –
My original food processor did not have a 2mm slicing disc, only a 4mm disc. I found it too thick for many applications. I have used my 2mm disc for pickled coleslaw and for the tomatoes I use in bruschetta. The topping lies flatter and stays in the toast better.

I needed this but had no options. Pricy for only 1 blade.

At first I thought I had wasted the money I spent for this blade, because I expected an even thinner slice from the blade, but now that I have this 2mm blade as well as the 4 mm blade and the 6mm blade, I find that I use all of them, and enjoy the different small degrees of thickness in my vegetables. This blade is GREAT for cabbage. The thickest blade I use for sliced olives, cucumbers, pickles. And the middle blade I use for carrots and celery. If there were a thinner blade I would buy that one for things that need to be sliced really thin, where you want it practically shaved. This does not make shavings. But I ended up using this blade often anyway.
