I had been wanting an rgb keyboard for ages – shortly before finding this one on sale (clearanced? Not sure) I had bought an aesthetic pastel blue keyboard which I thought had rgb – it didn’t, just static rainbow lighting. So I was living with the disappointment… Then I found this one – I don’t even mind that it is black because I love the rgb so much! Plus more features – a magnetic strip in case you want to add an ergonomic wrist pad, and this thing is weighted! It doesn’t slip and slide all over my desk like a standard keyboard. All in all, this thing pleases me more than I ever expected.

I think this keyboard is great. It feels solid when typing, makes a satisfying sound when keys are pressed, and has really nice lighting effects, compared to my old NPET RGB keyboard. I’m not an overly greasy person. That being said, the plastic material is, surprisingly, not getting smeared with skin grease as I expected, given the type of plastic it is. Not all keyboards fare as well, — lookin’ at you, Dell and Lenovo — but after a week or so of using it about 6+ hours a day, I can’t see any smearing or discoloration. When I received the keyboard, the box was pretty beat up. The inner boxes looked fine, but at least two keys were ‘popped off’ and freely floating inside the bag with the keyboard. I was able to pop these back on with prior knowledge of mechanical keyboards. However, as a point-of-fact, my wife has very little IT experience and had no idea how to reseat a popped-off key. I can imagine if this happens to others with the same skill level as my wife, they may need to search online for how to reattach the keys.Outside of that, I’ll echo what others have mentioned here in other reviews. The placement for the macro keys are annoying. If you’re a proficient typist, then you’ve likely developed a technique to cheat and find the home-row by sliding your hand from the edge of the keyboard to the shift/ctrl etc. With this keyboard, you will die, fall off things, and time stuff incorrectly in every single game you play as you frustratingly hit a key that doesn’t do what you expect it to. If you attach actual functions to the macro keys, you’ll likely end up in worse shape if those macros open or close apps or processes.I have no idea why the macros had to be placed on that side. Most of us game, which is what this keyboard is marketed to, with a mouse in our right hand and our left hand on the left-most portion of the keyboard. Why EVGA decided to put the macro keys on the side you place your hand over the most, is beyond me. It would have made 100x more sense to put it on the right side, and not just for the reason of accidental pressing. Let me explain:If you’ve ever bound any key on your mouse (such as a forward/back button) or used the mouse/keyboard for work tasks, you’ll likely have used your mouse-thumb to hit enter or something similar on the keypad. The macro keys would have made a lot more sense on that side, allowing for quick taps of your macro keys with your mouse-hand, ensuring the placement of your left hand was always in the right spot. Just like cupholders in cars, I am pretty sure these designs look good on paper but suck in real-world practicality. Not wanting to admit defeat, I am going to keep the keyboard and either try to find a way to prevent macro keys existence by removing them, or look for a 3D printable option to prevent accidental use. If I find a way to workaround it, I’ll come back here and post an update with my method. This is a good keyboard. It feels nice, it sounds nice, the colors are fluid, and the construction feels solid. The placement of those macro keys prevents this from being a 5-star, in my book. Oh, and if you use a standard keyboard at another location, prepare to be frustrated for the opposite reason — getting used to the hand placement with the macros on the left, only to have your hand be off with your other keyboards.

When I first got thits keyboard, I simply loved it.t Such a great value for a budget tmechanical feel. But otver timtte, the T key startedt sticking and now it is driving me nutst. Itt seems to bte an issue with thet mechanism rathter than any clearance or cleaning issue.Because of the design of the keyboard, I first thought it was an issue with hand misplacement.t But ta couple years of use later, I’m quite comfortable with he extra distancte to he edge caused by the macro keys. In the last month, thet tt key’s malicious attatcks on my tytping have grown in its tconfidence, waging war on comprehension with itst ally, thet red underline. So a warning to thoste that may get one of these: if a key seems wonky, do an rma immediatelty. Do not wait for the tkeys to ttmarshal their forces and wage war on your prose!Thtat sttaid, I’m leaving thet review at t4 stars despite the difficultiets and thet need to replace this thintg. I thtey were still available on amazon I would seriously consider getting another despite my experience.

I was looking for a decent keyboard at the time and this one was 15 bucks on some sale that I grabbed it even though its not wireless, but if you like the lights and gaming type keyboards it works smoothly and well, I use a more ergonomic that splits the hands a part and generally prefer a wireless kit from Microsoft and recently Dell’s higher end ones look great and felt nice if you like a bigger mouse with programmable buttons and other features, had I known how this is somewhat cheap feeling and that the dell would be as nice as it was I would have ordered 2 of those so I’d have 1 for myself, but for a keyboard with the lights and extra buttons I’d say its pretty hard to beat the nice usb gaming keyboard for the price that is.

This keyboard replaces the original due to the Win Key not working. She does use the win key in one of her online games, so it was necessary to have it working. So far so good.

Like the mouse you can program this keyboards extra buttons to open programs…. But…The place where the special buttons are located are near keys I use often like Ctrl, Shift, Caps and Tab. I’m used to going all the way to the edge to find those keys without looking down. But I found myself pressing the special keys from time to time wondering why I can’t copy and paste… It’s because I’m holding down the special key and not the Ctrl.Annoying. But now imagine you program those key to open a program or the browser…. Yeah…Still it’s one of the sturdiest keyboards I’ve ever used. It also weighs a ton compared to other keyboards I’ve used in the past. The parts don’t feel cheap and the keys have some bounce. Though they can be kind of loud. But I like it.If you have to beat up someone use this I think it will do Maximum Crit Damage!

Good quiet keyboard for office.
Nice and quiet keyboard. I did try the puddin transparent keycaps and found them to be loud so I put the black side printed keys taht I had instead and were much quieter. Good for an office keyboard.
