When I received the package, it had a cut in the bottom. When I opened it the sheet music inside was totally bent up. Makes it hard to straighten out to read and play.
Craig Matteson –
The Alfred editions do a good job in keeping what the composer wrote clearly separated from their helpful editorial annotations. this popular work offers translations of the French instructions on how to play the piece, and offers good fingering and pedaling. Of course, the teacher (and student) should feel free to change these emendations as they see fit. But this basic two page work sounds beautiful, is not particularly hard to play (except that young students are unnecessarily concerned when they first see the key signature of six flats (G-flat Major). Again, they can be helped through this by any competent teacher. If found the printing to be a little less crisp and clear than I like. But the price is most attractive. You should also be more careful when opening the envelope it comes in than I was. I accidentally tore off a corner of the work as I tore the envelope open. Fortunately, the damage is only cosmetic and did nothing to the music. There was no protective cardboard for the music itself.Reviewed by Craig Matteson, Saline, MI

It’s in Six (6) flats, but if you play it like it appears WITHOUT the flats, it becomes in the key of G and so you only need to sharp F notes and figure out what the incidentals should be. A lovely piece to hear.
Craig Matteson –
This is a very popular piece for intermediate piano students. It sounds easier than it really is to play. But this is an inexpensive student edition. I used it successfully with a student who really wanted to play it and it worked out well.
David –
I am completely satisfied with the product. The cover of mine had a beautiful painting on it like the Alfred Masterworks usually have, not the music notes that you see in the picture. The score was perfect, sounded exactly like the original. There are lots of helpful fingerings and footnotes, as well as English translations of Debussy’s original dynamic words (au movemente, etc.). You would expect nothing less from Alfred Masterworks, and it delivers.
S. Todt –
This is, perhaps, Debussy’s finest piece. The tones area beautiful, complex, and haunting. Only two pages long, the music was quickly mastered. It was a pleasure to play it.
Musician –
Using this copy for piano student. Beautiful piece.
Malia Van Rooy –
Seriously, who would ever think it’s OK to fold their music (especially a beautiful work by Debussy) in HALF when packaging it?!

Lacks “helpful fingering”
Was supposed to contain helpful fingering which is the only reason I bought it!
