I ordered this base kit with 3 lights from Amazon on October 5, 2018. I finally received them yesterday (11/27/18). It wasn’t Amazon’s fault, as apparently they have been out of stock from Philips for a while. I’ve been checking Philips website for the last 6 weeks and they still show “Out of Stock” on their website. I was amazed that Amazon was able finally deliver this order!I love the lights. They are very easy to setup and the ability to change the light colors is great (I also have a number of other Philips Hue lights inside my home). We were originally looking at getting a professional landscape company to install outdoor lights for us, but their estimate was over $2k. The price of these lights are a great value.I first wanted to try just 3 lights to make sure I like them. Now that I’ve tried them and am happy, I really need to get 5 more lights to complete my outdoor lighting in front of the house. Unfortunately, they are not available to order on Amazon now and they are not available on the Philips website either. Perhaps Philips just has more demand than they can supply. I emailed Philips customer service last week to inquire about new stock availability, but no response yet. Anyway, I hope more come availability soon, as they are great lights and would be nice to complete my home project.March 4, 2019 – UpdateI was finally able to order more of these lights on Amazon in December 2018. I now have 11 lights total in front of the house (2 new pictures added). I’ve been using these now for 3 months and they work great. I use the Sunset routine so they come on every night at sunset, and then I have them turn off automatically at 10pm. I try different color schemes every now and then just for variety (and fun). I have gotten some very nice compliments from my neighbors about how much they like the lights.I have seen other reviews complaining about the lights not being bright enough. I agree that the lights are not super bright. However, I was looking for accent lights for my home at night and they are sufficiently bright for my purposes. But if you are looking for lights that will light up an entire area in an open yard, then you may not be satisfied.

These work pretty well. They’re a bit dim when using colors, but are fairly bright in a white light mode. The beam angle is fairly narrow, I wish there was a way to adjust it for a wider wash. The price is high, but the versatility isn’t something I could find in another product. It was easy to install, may be more difficult if your not tech savvy. Overall I’m about 80% happy. I probably would do something different if I was to have to do this over, mainly because of the price tag.

I had to get these regardless of the price. I already have over 40 lights/switches around the house. So having this integrated into the system just made my decision easier. My biggest complaint is how short the extension cables are. Come on guys, you all need to give us another option than just a 16’ extension.. and make them cheaper! I ended up getting a similar product for $4 less each. Since I needed to make a 160’ run I needed to buy over 12 of these cables, so the extra “savings” was a no brained. My other complaint is that they should sell the T adapters on their own. Of course they just want to make an extra buck. I also ended up buying an extra adapter from a 3rd party source(eBay).Pros:-Looks better than your typical landscape lighting-Well made-All of the color options(Holiday fun!)-Easy to setup and installCons:-Need longer cables or options to purchase different length cables-T adapters can not be purchased separately?!-$$$$

I’ve tried many different outdoor lights from solar to wired and nothing has beat Phillip hues they sure are pricey but you do get what you pay for! I professionally installed these at my house and what a difference it makes!! I’ve ran my wires under ground from my porch where I have them plugged in at and so far they work well to lighting up my landscapes! I was tired of purchasing outdoor lights that only worked for a few weeks to a month or two. That’s when I decided to just trust Phillip hue with my lighting needs! Purchase them you will be glad you did! Thousands of ways to set your lights up on the app, once connected to your home wifi!!

I love the way the outdoor Hue Lily lights look, the programmability and full color. And they are far less expensive than having a pro install low voltage lights that are just white. I’ve purchased 4 sets over the years and when they work, they are great. BUT….My first round of 3 sets each had defects with the power supply that allowed water to seep in after about a year. Hue/Signify did have a recall set up and they replaced them free even out of warranty. However I purchased a set in July 2022 and deployed them Dec. 6. But within just one week one of the 3 lights got totally water logged just from rain and quit working. Signify is replacing it, but this makes 4 out of 4 for leak issues causing failure. If it weren’t for that I’d give these a solid 4.

I’m an electrical contractor and I normally stay away from “homeowner grade” products like I assumed this product was since I first came across it at Home Depot. After some research I pulled the trigger on some bulbs, a hub and a lily starter kit. Well I have to say I’m impressed. The lily fixtures are well build (could be brighter when on colors, white is plenty bright) I also added in a lily XL. Iomega most things in life, you get what you pay for, if your lucky. You will be happy with the system and the app is pretty good as well. I should add, I now have 16 a19 style bulbs, 7 lily lights, on lily XL, one power supply and one hub, 4 led tape used for kitchen under cabinet lighting. I haven’t had one failure in over a year. Only issue is one of the tape lights sometimes doesn’t reset to the last programmed color and goes back to the default color and it can be annoying.

I bought two sets of these with 1 extension light for the front of my house. I spent tons of money over the years buying solar color changing lights (don’t get me wrong, they’re great when they last) and decided this time to put the money into a solid and well-built set. I absolutely love these lights and will be looking to add more Hue outdoor products in the future. They are heavy duty and well-built, and are bright. My house is white and I have the colors change based on the holiday or time of year (ended up with Red/White/Blue for quite some time around July 4th. Now I used a Philips Hue Labs formula to color change among a few schemes every few minutes. The lights turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise (obviously you can change this). The HUE app still needs more work overall but I am extremely pleased with these lights. I have been a bit lazy about burying the wires under dirt/mulch so my only concern (my fault) would be the gardeners causing damage, but that’s what’s great about the replaceable cords. They are expensive, but when I look at all of the money I’ve spent over the years on solar lights, these are worth it.

I bought 2 of these 3-pack Lily’s. Extremely to install. Make sure to mount transformer and wiring connections above ground and it was very easy to install with included spike attachment. I already had a hue bridge with about 30 interior hue lights. Syncing the lights using hue app was a breeze as well. I have on a timer and received compliments from neighbors immediately after turning them on. I did have one light fixture begin to fail to change colors and eventually fail to ever turn back on. I contacted Philips and was very pleased with costumer service and received a replacement light fixture. Nice to see Philips stand behind their products and very responsive. Like other reviews have mentioned, the fixtures are not as bright when color accents such as blue, green and other colors but cool to warm whites are very bright. I actually don’t mind this and was really nice to change the colors for holidays! these make great Christmas lights too! Overall I’m very pleased and plan on buying a extra fixture to finish front elevation lighting.

I purchased two sets (6 lights) of Philips Hue Lily spotlight kits in July 2020. I did this after getting quotes for installing standard uplighting from local companies. Standard white lights was going to be around $2,000 total for 10 lights, or $3,000 for fancier bluetooth lights with 3 colors. I figured that $800 for 6 lights, which I could easily install on my own, connected into my existing smart home and fully customizable colors, was a steal.Initially, I was delighted with my purchase. The lights were easy to set up (we followed some tips from other reviews: plug in and connect your lights inside to test and ensure connection before doing the outdoor work). I was really impressed with the ease of the technology and the brightness of the lights. I liked that I could control my front lights seamlessly in the Hue app with existing routines, zones, etc. I loved that we could change the lights to a spooky purple for Halloween and even alternate the colors without hanging any string lights. However, we started noticing some problems when one light would turn on but not the right color. Long story short: we were able to get this fixture replaced under warranty. Now were are running into the same exact problem with another bulb with the condensation. Luckily, I they are replacing that one as well, but it sure is a hassle. We have also had some issues were the lights decide not to turn on, or just one spotlight of the set decides it doesn’t want to turn on that day. I’m not sure if that’s a connectivity issue, user error, or something else. And since the lighting is on the front of the house, it may be a few days or a few weeks before we discover it’s not working right. Since we primarily are using uplighting for safety/security reasons, I wish it was more reliable.Looking back, maybe it would have been better just to purchase the more expensive plain white on/off lights on a timer from a local installation company. But I’m still hoping for the fantasy that these work seamlessly and in the way I intend!

You will need a GFCI outlet and the Philips Hue bridge to operate these lights. The original box containing the light kits has the instructions on how to connect the lights is printed on the back of that box. Easy setup just don’t throw the box away until you are done. Put electrical tape around the connections before burying. You do not need electrical tape, connections are very secure. We just did it for extra protection against the weather. Found the cords to be long and dug a 4″ trench to bury each line. We will put landscape liner and mulch on top of the buried lines in the landscape bed.You will need to setup the Hue bridge for wi-fi. App is easy to configure and will be spending time getting familiar with all of the features this app provides for our lights. Make sure you have the S/N handy. Currently, our lights are programmed for sunset to sunrise. You can setup routines with different colors, times, days, and even upload your favorite picture to capture those colors and sync your lights to your photo. Endless ambiance possibilities. Great LED product!
