Bulletproof and foolproof operation, but expensive (see details). Conditionally RecommendedI know that you can get a K-cup coffee maker from about anyone now. I also know that combo K-cup/drip coffee makers are “in” right now. Despite all of that, when my family’s old Keurig coffee maker (a mid-line model from 5+ years ago) died, I decided to get the Keurig K-Elite Coffee Maker (Brushed Silver). Why? The first reason was familiarity… my wife and daughters are large coffee consumers, but they are not necessarily great with change – it made sense to have the functionality be as close to the old coffee maker as possible. The second reason, ironically, was reliability. I believe that the old Keurig would probably have lived forever, if it had been properly maintained. Ours, however, was NEVER maintained (descaled) which led to its premature death (more on that in a minute). Third, the new Keurig has a couple features that are useful to us.Like my last Keurig, the Keurig K-Elite is a mid-level model. It’s not exactly feature-rich, but it DOES support 5 different brew sizes. It has a strong brew function. It does “ice coffee”, but I don’t really think that’s any different than any other coffee maker – you just put ice in the receiving cup. Differentiating features include a clock, complete with the ability to schedule a cup to brew on alarm (obviously you need a K-cup and water in the maker). You also get the equivalent of a cycle counter, reminding you to descale the unit. Considering the demise of our last Keurig, this is a good feature to have.Is the Keurig K-Elite a good value at $140? You could easily make the point that there are many other coffee makers that are less expensive, and produce virtually the same coffee. As far as the value of any of the features go, it really depends on how you plan to use the machine. That said, I do think it’s good to think of these types of purchases in terms of the amortized cost. If the descaler warning will help keep your machine alive for double the lifespan (or more), then it may be worth it for the K-Elite to cost double that of another machine. Obviously, YMMV. For us, though, the machine is a good value, it works every time, and it did not require any instruction/training. Conditionally Recommended

POOR water reservoir design.I am a coffee lover. I drink a lot of coffee. I bought this Keurig machine because the older, cheaper version I had lacked coffee strength adjustment, and, it stopped working. So I went for the slightly upgraded model which has the adjustment I wanted, and also, this upgraded model comes apart for easier cleaning. All fine and good. EXCEPT, for some strange reason, this newer “upgraded” model, which looks like it uses the same reservoir, indeed has a slightly different design. The old one had 2 lifting tabs. This new one has only one lifting tab. AND IT’s IN THE BACK. I’m not a big reviewer. Can’t be bothered with little BS complaints. But I just spilled water as I was loading the reservoir onto the main body. So DAMN. I usually just pour water into the reservoir to top it off, but this time it was near empty so I simply lifted it to the sink and filled it. Easy? Right? Not so much. And, I’m embarrassed to even be writing this. But, THERE YOU ARE !! Now I need another cup of coffee…………..

Nice replacementMy old Keurig had given up the ghost after about 9 years. This was on sale so splurged for another instead of a knock off. I’m so glad I did. The 15-minute shut off is awesome. I can make the coffee “strong” if I want but I’ve found that with the flavored coffee strong isn’t such a good choice. However, if I chose the small cup and an unflavored k-cup it almost makes an espresso type shot to add to my flavored cup. I like the fact that it has a filter as my old one did not. I use a filtered water but I’m hoping with the extra filter in the tank it will last even longer than the last one.

A Fantastic Coffee MakerI bought 1 of this kind 5yrs ago from Costco an it only lasted a year before it started acting up an finally quitting on me an the hinges holding the top open came apart. I am on a fixed income an I could not find another one that was under $100 So I had to go with a different brand an didn’t like it So I bought a Keurig late maker but I got tired of having to fill it up after only 3 cups of coffee. I could not find this one at any of the stores near me for this price. So I checked around online an found it here for a good price an I am extremely happy it looks like they improved on it cause it looks a lot different than what it looked like back then an it does a better cup of coffee. So if you need one get this one it is the best of all the Keurigs out there an it is at a good price I will be recommending this to everyone.

This Coffee Maker Was In Perfect ConditionI’m happy I purchased this “used” Keurig Coffee Maker. It looks brand new out of the box with no evidence of damage I could see. As with all Keurigs, unpacking and assembly were easy. Happily, this model comes with a water filtration system and a charcoal filter which I was unaware existed. The water where I live has a very high mineral content so that is a welcome improvement over my previous Keurig although it did last ten years and finally gave up the ghost.

Run cleaner through it every few months and it lasts many years.I had 2 Keurig machines prior to this one. I gave the first one away when I bought a bigger one. Then the bigger one got messed up with calcium deposits and I could not save it. When I bought the third (10-15-2019) one now I make sure I clean it on regular cycles to remove any deposits. I change the machine filter and only use Brita filtered water to increase the life of the machine.I use the reusable filters instead of the disposable filters. This works better for me and tastes stronger than the disposable filters

Good coffee, but a bit of form over functionThis is a very good keurig coffee maker, with many variations in size of servings as well as strength of beverage. However, in an effort to create a nice looking unit, they have made a design choice which makes refilling the water reservoir less than perfect. It is hard to grip the reservoir, and replace it when filled with water… not a deal breaker, but it could be designed better!

Perfect for small household!Fast and simple to use to make a quick cup of OK coffee. This is my first try of the K cup pods and I’m skeptical about their freshness. Time will tell. I’m used to grinding freshly roasted beans and doing a pour over or a press. But I wimped out in favor of quick and easy.😬

Great coffeeThis is like coffee again I bought one of the other keurig makers and never liked it from the start and it only lasted just a little over a year but I have this maker now and everything is good except the other maker should have lasted longer I hope this one lasts more than a year

Easy, quick, tasty coffee or just plain hot waterBought this to replace an older, faithful, similar unit that would no longer Descale itself. This new one works fine so far after about one hundred K-cups through it, and it might be a couple of seconds faster than my older unit when it worked correctly. My wife likes the hot water button feature on the new unit for her tea bag in a to-go cup. I do miss the blue side light on my older unit.
