Smart but not brilliantThere are features about this brewer that I love, but it still needs improvement in some areas.- Descaling. The brewer notifies me when it wants to be descaled. I have completed the descaling process once, and it was somewhat easier than with my former, non-smart Keurig machine. Actually, I had to replace the former machine because it apparently burned itself out during the descaling process. This brewer also produces extremely hot water during descaling, and I believe it overheats due to the need to run the brew process repeatedly. This brewer produces (non-specific) error messages but allows the descaling to continue. I took the precaution of allowing it to cool down between runs to avoid destroying it during descaling. You need to set aside an hour or so to complete the descaling without damaging the brewer.- Automatic recognition of QR codes. This feature works with pods that are sold by Keurig and have a QR code on the top. The Keurig smart brewer has a feature that recognizes QR codes on K-Cups and sets the brewing features automatically for the specific brand of coffee. However, if your pods are not sold by Keurig and don’t have QR codes, the brewer may not recognize that a pod has been inserted and will not proceed with the brew. I have addressed this by cutting the top off a used Keurig pod that has a QR code and placing it on top of the generic pod. The brewer generally accepts the QR code and allows other features to be set manually, but that is obviously not an ideal solution. There should be a way to bypass the automatic QR code feature and just brew coffee using manual settings. I think the QR code feature is a subtle way for Keurig to discourage use of pods that are not sold by Keurig.

Brew ID plus other tipsOriginal Review:We’ve been using the Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart coffee maker for one week now, and we’re really enjoying it.First of all, for those of you having issues with Brew ID, here’s a tip. You have to open the lid completely for the coffee maker to recognize your brand of K-Cup. Because mine was completely under the cabinets, I wasn’t able to fully open the lid and therefore, the light which helps take a picture of the top of the K-Cup pod wasn’t coming on. I searched for help everywhere on why it doesn’t always work and couldn’t find anything. Keurig should place this on their FAQs on their website. By the way, I now have a favorite cup of coffee thanks to the new machine. We typically buy Costco Kirkland’s brand called Pacific Bold. The coffee maker recognizes it, but doesn’t show the name on the display, but it comes out perfectly with the recommended brew. However, I purchased the Donut Shop coffee and the brewer recognizes it, shows the name on the display, and the coffee is delicious! For those of you upset because you still have to confirm your “scheduled” brew, I completely understand why it works that way. If you set the schedule and you forget to use a mug, you’ll have coffee all over your counter. I can’t trust myself to remember to place the mug there before I go to bed, so when I receive the reminder on my phone, I can confirm if I did remember to place the mug and then tap to brew the coffee. By the time I come downstairs in the morning, my cup is already made.So far, we love the coffee maker. The multi-stream really helps to capture the full flavor of all of the coffee in the K-Cup. Also, I love having a handle on the water reservoir. Our last Keurig didn’t have that and it was difficult to carry back and forth to the sink.Update:I’m adding to this review to give some advice to Keurig. On 8/22/22, I woke up and started brewing a coffee. The water reservoir was full and the machine spit out a drop of coffee and started making weird sounds. The unit turned off and would not power up again. I removed the plug, checked it with another device and it still would not turn back on. I moved it to another area in the kitchen and same thing, would not power on.Called Keurig. Customer service was very helpful. Since it was still under warranty, they are replacing the unit with a new one which will reset the one-year warranty. I had to take a picture of the serial number, send them the original proof of purchase (since I bought this on Amazon, it was easy to find in my order history) and they required the copy which says it was delivered or else they would deny the claim. I also had to send them a picture of the brewer with a hand written note including my name (caution, the name on the note needs to match perfectly with the name on your account – I wrote Joseph instead of Joe on the note and they denied my original claim), date, and reference number. I also had to send them my shipping address. That was 8/22 and UPS is delivering the unit today (8/25).After several Google searches and watching Youtube videos, it appears my problem is with a safety feature of the thermostat. If the brewer gets too hot, it will automatically power off — forever. That is until you take the unit apart and press a reset button on the thermostat. My recommendation for Keurig is to make it easier for customers to press the reset button without having to take the unit apart. If this is a common issue (and I get that it’s probably for safety reasons), they should allow us to easily access the part to press the reset button. It’s been terribly inconvenient to wait for the brewer (even if it’s only been four days), so I’m praying this doesn’t happen again. If it does, I’m done with Keurig forever. Over the years, I’ve owned three Keurig’s. One had to be replaced under warranty, the replacement died after the warranty expired, and a third unit finally stopped working after about three years of use. Now this new one stopped working after 8 months of owning, so I’m going on my fourth at this point.

Makes good coffee, slower than most, online a gimmick unless subscribedSo I’ve only had the machine for a week and I’ll update if I change my mind, but so far I like it. Compared to a basic machine it makes a great tasting cup of coffee and has a lot of configurations to tweak The strength and temp when compared to a basic unit. This is also the quietest Keurig I’ve ever used. HOWEVER, it probably takes twice as long to brew a cup from the moment you open the lid until the coffee is done. Why? Well, when you put in a kcup it has to read the tag and look it up online each time. It doesn’t appear to cache this info (we only brew one type of coffee), and it doesn’t appear there is a way to set a default and stop asking each time. This probably takes an extra 10-12 seconds. Then picking your cup size and temp just isn’t as quick as the basic model as there are more options. Finally, I think the quiet operation comes at the cost of a less powerful air pump; so it just pushes water more slowly through the cup.Despite my criticism, I still like it, but I think the user interaction design code be improved. 2-ish minutes to brew a noticibly better tasting cup of coffee ( especially at 12oz setting) is worth the extra 40 seconds.

Smart Coffee BrewerThis is my second Keurig coffee brewer. My last one we wore out. It served us so well I did not shop to compare, I bought another Keurig. This time I made a big upgrade to the Plus Smart. Fantastic, that is if you like programming your favorite brew and not having to punch all the buttons to start a brew. The custom temps and strengths is a big plus.

Always have had a KeurigSo I’ve had a Keurig for years. My pump on my other one starting sounding really loud so I decided that I needed to start looking for another one. Then the sales price happened and I was all over it. It’s really hard to review something that you have had for a month but so far I’m really happy. Yes the five holes it pops in it is better than the one yes it takes a little more time to be the coffee but that extra ten seconds is worth it to me. Seems as if the flavor is definitely more Robust than before. The smart feature is a gimmick. I can see it if you use the app to order coffee but the pods are hella lot cheaper on Amazon so if Keurig gets those prices down I’ll buy through then but as of right now still to high. I do like that I can rollover in the morning and push a button on my phone and by the time I get downstairs the coffee is need. That’s only if I remember to set it up the night before. But all in all yes I recommend this machine if you have an older model

Google voice commands are limited, glass height reduced. This is a great coffee maker, with two limitations. As confirmed by Keurig, while you can give a Google voice command to specify the size of the cup, such as 12 ounces, you cannot give a Google voice command to specify the strength, such as strong or intense, or the temperature. Why they would support one of the three options and not all 3 seems strange. Keurig called me back to tell me that this would be added in their new update. We’ll see.It also doesn’t support brewing a “favorite” by Google voice. Also, the height of the glass supported is lower. My last Keurig had no trouble with my glasses that ranged from 7 to 7 1/4 inches, this Keurig supports 7 1/8 at most, so I have to throw out half of my $15/each glasses. Tastes Just Like DripBest Keurig yet. I was using both a drip coffee maker and an earlier version of a Keurig machine. I was worried at first this machine would be too complicated for my my mother to use but I also wanted the taste of drip brewed coffee. I couldn’t have made a better choice. The Keurig K-Supreme Plus SMART is simple to use and tastes just like drip brewed coffee. Even smells like drip brewed. Got rid of the drip coffee maker and gained some counter space. Mom has no trouble using the features of the K-Supreme Plus Smart and she loves the ability to choose different strengths and temperatures for her different teas. I love the taste and smell of the coffee. I’ve read other reviews in which people complain the pod recognition feature doesn’t work but it’s never been an issue for us. The recognition feature is only a suggestion of how to brew that particular coffee but you can easily change the temp and strength regardless of what the machine recommends. The water container is easy to fill and clean. I also like that the machine shuts itself off between uses and doesn’t need to be on all day. No need to program an on and off time for each day because the machine turns on when you use it and shuts off when you’re done. The display reminds you to connect the machine to the app but unless you stand there and stare at the display after you brew your coffee, the machine (and its display) shuts off when idle between brews. This reminder has never been an issue for me. We have very limited counter space and this machine fits right into small places. Mom is short and she can still see the display on top of the machine. Whether you use it at home or at the office, the appearance is perfect. I bought a second machine for my office and everyone loves it. Professional looking, easy to use for both employees and clients. I highly recommend this machine.

Wake up to coffeeThis replaced another Keurig that gave me lots of great service for years but got damaged. This model is aesthetically more pleasing and the handled water reservoir makes refilling very easy. Higher variety of settings than old unit. The only drawback is that it seems to take a little longer to brew a cup. Not that big a deal unless it is one of those morning afters.

Disappointing ‘Improvements’This Keurig is supposed to be an improvement on previous models but not that I can see. We found the coffee weaker unless we set it to make an 8 oz cup. Being able to increase how hot it is does seem to work. The main problems with this machine are: 1. It gives an error message indicating to turn it off and to clean the needle. This was only an issue with the older model on very rare occasions but we barely had this one when we got this message. 2. It gives a non-specific error message and only gives a partial cup of coffee. We then tried another kcup and got a full cup but it is wasteful and annoying. 3. On several occasions the coffee has been filled with grounds and had to be thrown out. This exact problem is why we got a new machine, but here is an almost new machine doing the same thing. We are sorry that we bought this machine. We had a Cuisinart that lasted 3 or 4 years with making 6 -7 cups of coffee a day. We should have stuck with the Cuisinart brand.

I love this keurigI have had multiple keurigs but this is by far the most high tech. It looks nicer and makes the coffee great
