Makes too much coffeeWhile this coffee maker does produce good tasting coffee, it can’t get the volume size right! Even on the smallest setting, it overflows the coffee mug! It didn’t initially have the issue, or we would have returned it. But now, 7 months later, we’re stuck with it.

Ok, but not for the price! It’s almost impossible to find a single serve coffee maker that doesn’t take K-cups. I prefer using a paper filter, as the K-cup inserts that take your own coffee grounds are not that easy to clean, and it’s not a good idea to put coffee grounds down a garbage disposal. So, I thought I had final found what I was looking for with this machine.Pros:Very easy to useLove that it has a water tank so you don’t have to refill for every cupLooks nice and a good sizeDifferent cup sizes was also importantCon:Makes weak coffee (no matter the amount of coffee grounds used) and doesn’t have a setting for bold or mild.Way to expensive for just a bland so so cup of coffee.I currently have a Ninja single serve, that makes great coffee and has all the features I need. But after about 6 months the cleaning light came on and never went off, but it still made coffee, so I learned to live with that. But now a year and half later when I try to make a 12oz cup of coffee it only fills my mug half way… If only someone would make a decent single serve that doesn’t take K-cups!

DisappointedI like the coffee maker. Exactly what I wanted. Usually works great but 2x it has made too much coffee resulting in a mess. Not sure what is causing this…

returnedI had trouble inserting the basket in place. Maybe I’m too old but it was a pain. Otherwise good.

Better then K-Cup BrewerUsed to enjoy K-cups but got to expensive. Now with this brewer am happy that I get to use my own coffee and have the option of variety of cup sizes. It brews hot and as for the taste it is right on. I have to admit that I add little more coffee than their suggested marking on the supplied scoop. Been using this unit now for several months and am very pleased with it. The water tank holds plenty of water. In fact to truly enjoy a good cup of coffee you obviously need good coffee and fresh water. As I drink couple cups a day the tank is replenished almost every other day. The water spray over the grounds seem to cover and wet all the grounds. Overall am happy and would recommend.

Makes way too much coffeeI like how easy it is to use but I had to return it after a month. I set it for 12 oz but keeps making coffee, maybe 30+ oz which of course goes everywhere. This happened twice. I returned it and Amazon offered another so I am trying that one now. If it happens again I’ll have to try something else.

Good tasting coffee.I bought this because it had a cone shaped coffee basket, and because Mr. Coffee had a good brand reputation. My mom says it makes good tasting coffee and I believe she only makes 1 cup at a time. This from the woman who made us go out in blizzards to buy milk for her coffee since she could not drink it black. So she is fussy about her coffee. The only small complaint is you have to line up the coffee grind basked – just so, to fit in the holder and be able to slip it into the coffee maker. Over all we are very pleased with this coffee maker.

Same Flavor/Quality as Traditional Mr. Coffee PotsThe brewing mechanism is the same as other Mr. Coffee pots – auto-drip. Therefore you are paying for the convenience of a large-size water tank and size-of-cup selector. I have seen this recently advertised on Amazon at one hundred dollars – which I believe is excessive. It does make a great gift as this feels like a splurge version of their traditional models.

great alternative to kcupsThis coffee maker is a great alternative to a Keurig. The operation is super simple – very much like a kcup machine expect you use a small coffee filter and fresh grounds. What is unbelievable is the taste – even using the same type of coffee, the taste is SO much better than the results from a kcup. Plus, I will save money by buying coffee grounds instead of buying kcups and I will lose the guilt of throwing away so many empty pods. The Mr Coffee HotCup is a great find!
