Nespresso Vertuo gives you a fabulous cup of coffeeI’m very pleased with my Vertuo. I had a Keurig and a Nespresso original in the same space on my counter. It was taking up a very big footprint. My husband finally convinced me to get rid of both of them and get the Vertuo. Wise decision. I can have espresso when I want or I can have a cuppa coffee when I want and I do like the added bonus of the Crema on top of every cup. I feel like I’m in Italy.

LOVE LOVE LOVEI don’t know how I’ve lived without this for so long. I’m more mad at myself for not getting this sooner. I had an issue first getting it running, but I called the Nespresso customer service and the lady was absolutely wonderful and was able to troubleshoot it. So easy to use, and I use it multiple times a day. Absolutely love this machine!!

Love Love LoveMakes the most delicious coffee. Easy to use. No set-up. No cleanup. And a large variety of flavors in choose from. I also love the fact that Nespresso recycles the coffee capsules. That’s a huge plus!

Great coffee; excellent customer serviceWe bought our second Vertuo machine in August 2022 (our first machine lasted forever). It makes great tasting coffee and the best customer service I have witnessed. We had a problem after a couple of months so I called Nespresso customer service. The associate was very knowledgeable and was able to resolve my problem over the phone in just a few minutes. Bottom line – outstanding company.

Best Coffee Maker for the HomeThe media could not be loaded.
I needed a coffee maker for my home. I used to get my daily coffee fix at my office. However, I have been working from home since the onset of COVID. What I wanted was a easy and fast cup of coffee. I also wanted a coffee maker that offered plenty of variety. Also, it had to be dependable … I did not want to be investing in a new coffee maker every six months. After a few days of research I decided to buy the Nespresso Vertuo Coffee and Espresso Machine by Breville with Aeroccino. I am so glad I did … it has been exactly what I wanted … and more!My research suggested that if I wanted an easy and fast cup of coffee with plenty of variety I needed to buy a pod style coffee maker. Pods allow you to change up flavors and types at your whim without any concern that the coffee will lose its fresh taste. Also, pods are easy and fast … put the pod in the machine … press a button … and in a minute you have a hot cup of coffee.I looked at both Keurig and Nespresso and decided Nespresso was for me. Reviews and comments from friends and family suggested that Keurig coffee tends to taste watered down while comments on Nespresso said that the coffee had a rich, bold taste. I was sold on Nespresso, but now which machine to buy? There is the Nespresso Original and the Nespresso Vertuo. Both make great coffee … but the Original is focused more on European style espresso while the Vertuo makes espresso as well as full sized cups of coffee. Vertuo seemed like it offered more options, so that is what I chose.Next, I had to decide on the type of Nespresso Vertuo machine I would buy. I have a strong preference for Breville appliances. Breville products are well built, durable and look nice. When I found that Breville makes a Nespresso Vertuo machine I was sold … that was the one for me. I placed my order with Amazon and a few days later I was brewing coffee at home one cup at a time.I have been using this machine for several months now and have no complaints. It is everything I had hoped for … and more. The machine is relatively quiet when brewing. I attached a video with sound so you can hear the machine do its thing. It takes about a minute to brew a full cup of coffee. My machine came with a milk frother quickly produces a warm frothy milk. There are many pod options available for this machine. There are espresso pods which make a 2oz to 3oz shot of espresso. There are 5oz to 7oz pods … up to XL pods that produce a 14oz cup. Nespresso uses a 1 to 10 scale to define the strength of the coffee, with 1 being mild and 10 being extra bold. I have found my sweet spot is in the 4 to 6 range.I mentioned the machine is everything I wanted … and more. The “more” part can be seen in the video. This machine produces a nice full bodied crema. The machine reads a bar code on the underside of the pod. The barcode tells the machine the type of coffee being brewed and how quickly to “spin” the pod to produce a perfect crema. I attached a picture of a pod so you can see the barcode. This is much more than I expected … and makes for an enjoyable cup of coffee every time.I have no complaints about this machine. It is easy to clean and simple to use. I highly recommend it. Five stars.

Great coffeeI love this. I can’t wait to go to bed so I can wake up and have coffee! Best part is, Nespresso recycles the coffee and the aluminum container. Postage is free.

Happy birthday to me!I ordered this for my birthday. I finally received it a couple of days ago and was planning on waiting a week before I wrote a review. However. It didn’t take long to figure out how to use it and I have to say the resulting coffee is DELICIOUS.I have had a regular coffee percolator, 3 Keurigs, an old Corelle ceramic percolator with steel basket, and finally a Ninja Coffee Bar. I did not like the way coffee made with the Keurig tasted plus you were stuck with either weak coffee or using two pods. One size does NOT fit all. Then we got the do-it-yourself pod refills but by then I was done with the Keurig. Not to mention the mess made with refilling the pods. The Corelle made GREAT coffee but when you only drink one or two mugs a day you wind up having to reheat in the microwave. Then it doesn’t taste the same as fresh brewed. When I got the Coffee Bar I thought my problems were solved. It’s a WONderful coffee maker allowing you to fresh brew one cup, or a mug, or a travel mug, or half a pot, or a full pot. It also allows you to make faux lattes and has a whip on the side for frothing hot milk. Oh and you can brew up iced coffee as well. But it just wasn’t what I wanted as far as flavor. I tried several types of coffee. And here I need to add a disclaimer … I only drink decaf. And before someone jumps in and says that’s my problem … the lattes I get at Starbucks have PLENTY of flavor. But making them at home with Starbucks decaf just wasn’t the same.Enter the Nespresso.Oh and I also picked up the lovely glass topped drawer to hold the vertuo pods. That arrived days before the machine thanks to weather in SLC. Anyway I was concerned the machine wouldn’t fit under my cabinets once it was on top because of the measurements given in the description. Well the height measurement, just so you know, is done with the top part fully opened. It fits just fine.So on to the first cup (and yes, I did order a three pack of the decaf offerings). I had read in other reviews that it doesn’t produce a very hot cup of coffee. So I made sure to turn the machine on and leave it on for 9 minutes (that’s the automatic shut off timer) and then brewed my first cup. Tepid. After I dumped in a bunch of cream. Off to the microwave.Second time I ran it for 18 minutes and used the aeroccino. Um. Not a good idea to use the spring attachment on the whip and the top max line for milk. It REALLY whips up the froth. Since I turned off the aeroccino too soon THAT cup wasn’t hot enough. Back to the microwave. This morning I used the Intenso pod and I knew it only brewed 40 ml but I still was “Where’s the rest of the coffee???” once it stopped brewing. OK OK … whip the milk. This time I took out the spring and filled to the max line (use whole milk … mmmmm). Not much froth on top but HOT milk and HOT coffee. No need for the microwave. and may I just say — DEEElicious!Sorry Ninja. You are destined for the pantry to only come out when company is here.Do I recommend this machine? Absolutely. Yes the coffee is expensive but I only drink one or two mugs a day. I am, however, going to have to beg Nespresso to make an Alto pod in the decaf. Other than that, this baby gets 5 stars across the board.

Like a Keurig, but then again, it’s notSo it is a single serve machine (make sure you get a Vertuo if you want full cups of coffee), and yes it uses pods. So it’s like a Keurig, but that’s where the similarities end. The Keurig makes a decent cup of coffee for the price, the K-Cups can be had for 40 cents a pop, give or take. Again, the coffee is decent. But my old Keurig was not getting as hot any more, and the pump was getting weak. It had a good long life, so no complaints there. I kept reading about Nespresso, and found it interesting. So I took the plunge. Yes the pods are more expensive, but I knew that going in…..The machine is very simplistic, a water tank, an empty pod collection tank and an on/off button. You can simply put in a pod of the desired beverage, hit the start button and that’s all. The pods are created for different beverages, and sizes. I am a coffee drinker so the 7.7 oz pods work for me, but I like a little more coffee in my mug. So, for the certain pod size, one can customize it to brew a little more than that 7.7 oz size, and it will remember the customization the next time you use that size pod. It’s in the instruction manual. So there is some customization there. They also make a 14 oz Alto pod too. Will be trying that once my pod shipment comes. It doesn’t have a clock on it or a tocuhscreen and all of that. It’s simple and looks good in the kitchen, and smaller than the Keurig, so less space taken. I will add though, I cannot fit any of my standard travel mugs under the unit, so I cannot directly brew into them, so one drawback. Other machine designs from DeLonghi or Breville may allow for them, check the specs before ordering if that is a big deal for you.The coffee. It’s really good. I preheat a little half and half and then brew the coffee. It does have what they like to refer to as a “crema” head on the brewed coffee. It does add a little extra to the experience. It is a fuller flavor than a Keurig. Don’t let the whole crema, finished coffee color fool you, it’s got some body and full flavor. It doesn’t look like a normal black cup of coffee. Again, it is good coffee. Some have mentioned it is not as hot as a Keurig, or traditional drip maker. I agree, but it’s not warm or cold or anything. I’m not one to want to wait a long time for my coffee to cool down. It is a very hot, drinkable temperature. I’ll try an instant read thermometer on it. But if you want scalding hot coffee that you need to dump a ton of milk in it too cool down, then this won’t be for you. Oh yeah, and it’s good coffee. ;)Time will tell if I grow to love this, I’m still in the honeymoon phase. And I’ll try some different pods and see how they all go. I need a machine for work too now!***Update. Maybe I was unlucky or what but ordering pods from Nespresso direct is slow as….I ordered on 12-3 and got a shipping notice that product has shipped. Now it won’t arrive until 12-23. That’s not efficient. They person I spoke to the other day said my order was going to deliver on 12-16….they need to get their act together. I’ll report back if the next shipment does better or worse.

Great coffee and unbeatable convenience (as long as you are happy with the cost and variety of available pods)After living with the Nespresso Vertuo for a little over a month now, I can say with confidence it is overall a great machine, produces highly enjoyable espresso, and is significantly better than other Nespresso machines that I have tried.Overall: 9/10Convenience: 10/10Taste: 9/10Coffee selection: 7/10Reliability: 10/10Recycleability: 8/10A little context: We’ve had a Nespresso in my office for about a year. It’s the type that uses the “puffy disc” type pods. I don’t think any machine in the history of the universe has caused more frustration among a group of people than this thing. Wasted pods left and right, inconsistent output, and mediocre taste with little to no crema for espressos. Basically, I was not a fan.So I actively avoided Nespresso machines when shopping for an espresso machine for the house. But eventually the reviews won me over and I decided to give it a shot. So glad I did. This thing has become a fixture in our kitchen and is now deeply integrated in both my and my girlfriend’s daily routine. So here’s the things that stand out to me as reasons why you’d want one of these:1) It’s reliable – We’ve been though over 100 pods and not one jam, not one wasted pod. Given my experience w/my office nespresso needless to say I was very impressed2) It’s FAST – heats up in 5 seconds flat and is ready to go. Easily 5x faster than our Keurig.3) Crema for days – the luxuriously thick crema this thing produces for both espressos and larger coffees is even better than your local coffee house. Seriously. If you are a “texture person” this is as good as it gets.4) It’s tasty – decent variety of available pods (but see below) and generally high quality – both my GF and I really enjoy the coffee (though we like different styles)5) It’s (sorta) environmentally friendly – at least more so than the Keurig. Pods are all aluminum and fully recycleable and Nespresso provides post-paid bags – just dump your used pods and drop them in the mail (* but see below)6) It’s low-maintenance – super easy to clean and maintain7) It’s versatile – while I use it mainly for espresso, it handles 5 different types/sizes of coffee and all of them we tried came out greatAnd a few things that could stand to be improved upon:1) The coffee selection is not as varied at it would appear – there are over a dozen varieties, but in reality a lot of them are very similar and are just slightly different blends of the same few beans. If you tend to prefer darker roasts that trend toward the bitter side, you’ll find a lot to like. If you like milder roasts you may want to try a few of the varieties before taking the plunge.2) Unlike with Nespresso original machines, there are not any third party coffee companies that make Vertuo pods – So for the time being anyway you are stuck with what Nespresso offers3) Pods are on the pricey side – expect to spend about $1/pod4) Recycling program is great BUT while the bags are technically “free” – no bags are provided with the machine and to get them you have to place an order of $50+ on Nespresso.com – and that’s the only way you can get them.5) As some reviewers have noted this machine produces coffee at perfect “ready to drink” temperature. It also produces all sizes and varieties with a thick crema on top. This is by design and in line with European coffee tradition. If you prefer American style coffee and like it piping hot you should buy a Keurig (seriously – we have both and use both and for a good ole black coffee the Keurig is a champ)Overall, in my view, the positives far outweigh the negatives and I’m very happy with my purchase.
