While they do look like a nice set in the photos, they are actually lacking in craftsmanship. The knife tang you’d expect to be flush with the wood handle but you can feel it in your grip and easily hook a fingernail on the excess. There appears to be a use of a wood filler to compensate for inaccurate wood workmanship. The grinding to the top of the blade is inconsistent (see the divot in the top down photo) and leads me to believe that rust will be forming on as least this blade soon if not all of them. The serrations seem like they’d be nice but I’m not even putting these in my drawer. I will be sending them back. I don’t expect a whole lot for a $70 knife set but I do expect more than this. These may be German steel but it’s an overpriced set Made in China. Oh! And don’t let the gift box fool you. It’s cardboard and bleeds black if it gets water on it.
Edit: Since my review was posted, the seller reached out to me via email to express their concern with the product I received. They explained that they would work to improved their processes. They were generous enough to offer a full refund which I happily accepted. Good folks that aim to make a great product. Hopefully they’ll come through on their word.

The tips of these knives are beautifully Sharp. I wish the super sharpness went all the way to the handle. The blade is all Sharp just part of it is sharper than the other. BTW, the dishwasher has not hurt them so far.

Very nice set of knives for the price.

I like everything including the look. My only wish would be; I’d like them to be sharper. I like a steak knife to glide like cutting butter. While knife is good it doesn’t glide.

Important note: I really enjoy fine knives. I only own 5 kitchen knives and they were all acquired individually and they are well taken care of. That is important context. I have always avoided spending money on steak knives that I consider to be disposable. The case is pretty, but it is disposable, which I don’t really care about, just be aware that you will not keep the steak knives in there for storage. As mentioned in other reviews the tang extends above the wooden grip by a a little, which I noticed right away. The wood is beautiful, but I would not let these ever go into the dishwasher, hand wash and dry immediately. I would even consider putting food grade wax on the wood to keep it safe and healthy. Sharpness out of the box is never a judgement of quality knives, so I didn’t have that expectation, but I was a little curious as how to why they chose this serrated pattern as it is a rip more than slice. Look at Cutco serrated blades as comparison (not suggesting those as a purchase, just compare the “teeth” I don’t even own cutco). I probably won’t buy another knife from them and I am not sure if I will even keep these. If I can finder something better at the same price point I will most likely return. As a gift, they look nice, if you love kitchen ware, I am on the fence.
