Gave these to my son for when he butchers meat that he hunts. Poor quality and I was embarrassed when he opened them, even the wrap it came in was cheap. He said he liked the to make me deal better but they didn’t hold up to their discretion!!?

I really like these knives. It’s the first really nice set of knives I’ve purchased for myself and I am very pleased with my decision to get these. I did my research before hand and was a little worried about the potential for rust that quite a few reviews talked about. However, after each use I just rub them down with some veg oil and they have not a spec of rust on them. So happy about these knives. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good set of knives for a decent price. The only thing they didn’t come with that I wish they would have, were blade guards.

Blade Getty loose!

Knives all came very dull, are very flimsy and flexible, and started to patina within days of regular professional use even when wiping clean after use and applying oil as suggested only led to the knives picking up stray fibers from the roll. The roll was also poorly made as multiple loops were positioned in a way to force the knife blade up against the seams of the pockets in a way that inevitably started to get cut through. Only useful as a display set on a wall mounted rack or such

Looks good but rusts easily. Doesn’t hold an edge well

Beautiful Damascus blades that feel really nice in the hand. So far (I preface with this as many reviews came weeks after product arrival and I will write a second after many uses) only one complaint with product overall. One snap in a button immediately fell off during opening (photographed above).
Otherwise, knives have a perfect balance and are sharp enough to use upon receipt. I demand razor edges in my home as a perfectionist, full time Soldier, and Pilot (Army Aviator); so I will continue sharpening them all to my standard. Beautiful and ornate design. Wood selection complements Damascus perfectly.
Great for gift for knife lover or artist of any sort.

At the price point of these knives, I was not expecting Master Chief quality, but there are certain minimum standards that still need to be meet.
1) Clean cutting edge with a constant sharping angle.
2) Spine thickness (Needs to be thick enough to avoid the metal from twisting or bending)
3) Weight
4) Comfort in hand
While the pattern is constant across the knifes, the black etching is not. Goes from grey to black and no two knives match even closely. I will state that this could be due to the patterning in the metal and the way I see colors, but …
The biggest complaint is the knife’s cutting edge. The angle that they were sharpened at is inconstant and at some spots the edge is blunt. Also, some of the knives have divots in the edge where too much material was taken away and there is a negative void in the cut of the knife cutting line.
1) Sharping angle: Goes from 30 degree to 0 with no constancy between point and heel of the blade.
2) Some of the knife’s edges have had too much grinded away to create a negative void in the knife’s cut.
3) Some knives still have a burr on their points
4) The knives look they are punched from a sheet and then sharpened.
5) The spine is too thin, which would allow the knife to flex too much.
6) Pairing size knives are a good weight, but large chief and Chopper are under weight. (personal option)
This last point is focused on if and how well a knife can cut. Not even one of these knives could pass a simple paper cut test. While this test does not indicate how sharp a knife is, but it does test if the thing can cut and cut constantly and evenly. These failed across the board.
Pros:
Came nicely packages and the blades were heavily oils (aka no rust)
Handles are awesome and love the three-contrasting wood they are made of.
Handle size is also perfect for me (medium size hands – male), but large hands would have issues, since the pinkie and ring fingers would hang over butt.
Brass Rivets are done neatly and each handle has enough to ensure the handle does not come loose.
