While this 5-inch knife is sharp and the non-stick quality works well, I was very disappointed in the design. The blade is not wider than the handle so you can’t really use the whole knife due to you knuckles hitting the chopping board. I should have picked up on this from the photo on the Web. Also, the handle feels heavy and klunky. Minor point, the package says it’s a 6-inch knife so I measured the blade, which is 5 inches as stated on the Web. To show you what I mean in terms of the design, below is a photo of my 4-inch green Kuhn Rikon 4-inch knife, which is well designed, next to the 5-inch red knife I just purchased. Both knives are made in China and say so on the plastic handles (my old knife says “Kuhn Rikon, Switzerland” and the new knife says “Kuhn Rikon, Swiss Design).

Amazing quality for such an affordable price!

The knives made by this company are always sharp, comfortable fitting, and long lasting. What more can a person want in a kitchen knife!

This knife is very sharp I cut through frozen meat with it with no problem

This is my favorite Kuhn Rikon knife, even better than the paring knives. The blade is just enough longer to make chopping easier. That said, I wish it came in some of the cute colors and patterns that the paring knives do (like purple polka dots!)

I’ve been cooking over 40 years and I never realized how much I depend on the shape of a knife to tell me which edge is up.
This is a nice knife but in the week I’ve had it, I’ve had to correct its postition more than all knives I’ve ever used, combined.
It is sharp, seems to be well made, and I love the red!
I don’t want to fuss with learning to always check which edge way is up. If I still had the package it came in, I’d return it but will instead put it in the give away box.

Like the knife sheath and got it to take on trips (of which there are none lately). But have been using it at home. It’s versatile and very sharp.

I wanted to return this knife but because it came in the kind of hard plastic, molded packaging that required near destruction of it to get the knife and sleeve out, I kept it. The knife arrived less sharp than a butter knife.
I have the smaller, paring knife that had been sharp for years, so I was very disappointed to find this utility size so dull. I do have a small knife sharpener which sharpened the knife and made it useable. But it hasn’t remained sharp for long, not much use, and needs to be sharpened again. I wouldn’t buy this again.
