Where have you been all my life?Going through my ” purging ” stage of life, I realize I don’t want to have a cluttered kitchen or messy drawers.For the longest time, that was nearly impossible with 4 teenagers.But now- after being diagnosed with adult ADD – I try to cut down on a significant amount of useless clutter. It works wonder on the silent chatting going on I’m my head.I love these measuring spoons for so many reasons: 1). They have a magnetic piece in the middle that keeps them together!!! I cannot count the times I would get so frustrated that I couldn’t find that exact size I needed in the drawer. 2.) It has the two different shapes one on each side. Again, I would get so frustrated not being able to fit to round end into spices , making it even more difficult to measure properly. Now I can just switch to the rectangular size to pick up dry spices and measure quickly I would get this set for anyone who loves to cook because it makes less of a hassle using them as they are not attached like most measurements utensils are.I almost want to pick up a second pair just because we cook huge meals for our family of 6.Please give these a try.

Best set of measuring spoons out thereI bought a version of this set from Macy’s four years ago. It was made for the Martha Stewart brand and the plastic part in the middle of each spoon was a different color, but the set was otherwise the same. Now, four years later, I still use the spoons regularly and they are still in great condition: they haven’t fallen apart, they aren’t bent, and the writing on the plastic part hasn’t come off yet (although the writing on my most used spoon is a little smeared). I will say that I make sure to be careful with them. For example, I always hand-wash them in warm, not hot, water because I think washing these in the dishwasher could loosen the plastic part and the hot water could wash away the writing on the plastic, but maybe I’m being a little paranoid.I like these measuring spoons for the same reasons everyone else does. You basically get two sets of measuring spoons, which means you don’t have to wash a measuring spoon to measure two different things. One end of each measuring spoon is narrow to fit into spice jars (sometimes I wish I had a set where both ends are narrow). The spoons are designed such that, when you set a spoon down on the counter, it remains perfectly level. And, of course, the best part about these spoons is that they are magnetic. I don’t like measuring spoon sets that are kept together such that you can’t separate them easily or at all. If I only need a teaspoon of something, the other spoons automatically come along with the teaspoon, and then they might get dirty and I’d have to wash them, even though I didn’t use them. But the main reason I like the magnetic feature is that I’m not one of those cooks that gets everything ready before I start cooking. I often measure things as I go along and these spoons suit my style of cooking. The magnets are strong enough to keep the set together, but weak enough so you can separate the spoons with one hand.Some possible cons:- Someone’s review mentioned that the spoons can attach themselves to unintended items. That’s true; my spoons sometimes attach to my stainless steel measuring cups or sink, but that doesn’t bother me. As I mentioned before, the magnets are weak enough to separate the spoons from other items easily. I didn’t even remember that this happens until I read it in that other person’s review.- I would definitely prefer if the writing on each spoon were engraved or embossed on the plastic instead of printed, but it doesn’t bother me enough to remove any stars. I just try to be careful when I wash the spoons.I love this set so much that I just bought this set as a gift for a friend. I compared this new set with my Martha Stewart set and, fortunately, I did not run into any of the knock-off problems that other people encountered because the spoons were exactly the same. However, I do wish Progressive would sell a multi-colored version like the Martha Stewart set. Not only is it fun, but having color-coded spoons is helpful.

Man- are these spoons or what!?!?These are just the best spoons a person could ask for. On the one hand- they hold things within them: and not just any old sugar. You can practically fill them up with anything you want! We have filled them with sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar, baker’s special sugar, fruit sugar, coarse sugar: you wouldn’t beleive how many sugars these are compatible with! They also work with cinnamon, flour, salt, garlic powder and many many other baking ingredients.”Oh- so they are good for baking then?” Well yea- they are measuring spoons- but they are way more useful than that. Having a little trouble shedding that turkey dinner from thanksgiving 2002? Use the small spoon for gravy portion control. Curious of how many servings of breakfast cereal you partake each morning? Grab the large spoon to track your intake. Have an issue sleeping through the night because you must rise for a bathroom visit? Try trading your nightly glass of water for a quick sip from one of the middle spoons. They even have differently shaped spoons on the ends in case you like long and skinny instead of short and round!Not only are they wonderful for doing spoonie activities, they are also very technologically advanced. Using space age equipment they have managed to fit a sort of tractorbeam mechanism within the handle that attracts the spoons to one another. It truly is amazing. Sometimes they attract other metal utensils to them too- like our ordinary run of the mill spoons. It really is a neat trick and, if used responsibly, can even help you keep your measuring spoons together.Although these spoons are pretty much the best thing since sliced bread, they do have their limitations. For one they aren’t good for long term storage. This is mostly because they did not ship with lids, unless they just forgot to pack mine. They are also not good for drinking soda. Even using the largest spoons it would take 135 spoonfuls to consume a 2 liter soda. Even if you fill up both sides at once it will still take about 67 spoonfuls (if you don’t spill any) and we found it hard to drink from that way without dumping one side on your clothes or floor. The last thing our particular spoons didn’t excede at was applying ice melt to the drive way. They contained the salt just fine (we figured they would since we had no issue using them with table salt) but again they were just too small and not up to the task.If you are looking for the best spoons ever created then your search is over: you have found them.
