Karen P. Rhodes –
Easiest salt shaker to fill and useI have osteoarthritis, so I LOVE OXO Good Grips! I have a number of their products, and they do make my life easier. I have had other salt shakers, and for one reason or another, they just didn’t please me. One big problem for me is filling the silly things. I do not care for the ones that are filled from the bottom. You have to hold one hand over the holes, so the salt doesn’t come pouring out as you pour it in. That can be awkward. Salt grinders that have the bar down the middle are difficult to fill. Opaque salt shakers, like the wooden fill-from-the-bottom one I had, make it impossible to know when you need to refill it.This OXO Good Grips salt shaker is easy to fill, because it fills from the top. You just unscrew the top, and pour the salt in, with no obstruction. The optional-use pour spout is handy if you need a teaspoon or some measure of salt for a recipe. The salt doesn’t gush out as it can from the canister-style salt box from the store. The Good Grips shaker is clear, so you can readily see when you need to refill.I don’t have any negative comment to offer. It’s just the perfect salt shaker.

They’re So Handy!!They are on the smaller side, which is what I was looking for so they don’t take up much counter space, but their capacity is definately enough! i love the clear acrylic (they are not glass) you can see through them so you can manage when to refill or clean. They are super super handling friendly!! Like they just fit in my hands so well!! More holes for pepper and less holes for salt. They’re simple, yet practical, and pretty (for S&P Shakers Lol). BEST PART is the little pour spout on the side!!! OMG i just love it!! Easily accessible for bigger jobs!! I love these not over the top, yet awesome shakers!! I’m going to buy more sets for other spices I use regularly. I Recommend!!

SET BROKE A++++ OXO CUSTOMER SERVICEFirst set broke, contacted OXO directly, supplied some pics of the malfunction plastic part that broke. Had new replacement of salt grinder within two days directly. The selection of going appears to work very well for salt and pepper. Flaw might have been running Himalayan pink salt due to harder fragment???? Who knows but OXO is typically on top of their game and supports their products very well. Would recommend based on my experiences and their customer service.

wanted simple, lightweight, and got it!They look fine, they don’t break as easily as glass or slaughter a toe if I drop one, and they have this fantastic TEENSY POUR SPOUT on the side with which I am obsessed. I mean, I can put any pourable in here and have the option of shaking OR pouring. Mind blown. It all works as it should and I can see if they’re getting low. Like my cat. She just hunkers when she’s feeling low. I’m more of an extrovert so I just cry, but these shakers, YOU CAN SEE WHEN THEY ARE LOW. Magnificent product.

Not from the oxo cube makerThe OXO Good Grips brand is nothing to do with the British oxo cube maker, but part of the large American “Helen of Troy” company – the oxo name is used under license in the UK and Ireland. This OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Shaker Set – Transparent/Black is well designed and well made and each shaker has a different hole pattern for dispensing either salt or pepper – although they are not designated as such. The clear plastic makes keeping an eye on the fill levels easy and is BPA free which a lot of people prefer for food grade products. The stainless steel top can be used to sprinkle for table use but also has a side spout for dispensing larger quantities for cooking purposes. The shakers are not dishwasher safe but only need a quick hand-wash between re-fillings. We looked at quite a few similar products before deciding on this set and have not been disappointed – a good value salt and pepper set that is ideal for everyday use.

Close, but no cigar. Maybe half a cigar. These were not as good as I hoped. I *loved* the pouring spout idea, which is why I bought these, but the problem comes in with the shaker hole sizes. One jar has larger holes, and one has smaller holes. We deliberated and figured, okay, pepper flakes are probably smaller than salt grains (?), so we’ll put pepper in the smaller-hole-size shaker. Oh my, no! No, no. That didn’t work at all. Okay, switch! Now the salt hardly pours. Whatever we put in the one with the small holes just doesn’t work. So half of this pair works great for either salt or pepper, and half works for neither. My husband will probably drill out the holes on the small-hole one when he gets a chance and we remember to do it, but in the meantime, we have a half useful set of shakers. I’m sort of amazed that OXO people tried this set and found it okay. This and a couple of other things from OXO have made me lose faith in them as (what is supposed to be) an always reliable brand.
