Nice sturdy spatulaThis does what it is supposed to do. I bought it to replace a Pampered Chef spatula I had for years. For a lot less money…this is just as nice.

Another great Mercer toolI’m very happy with this spatula. It’s the perfect size for flipping burgers and even heavier work on the grill. Very sturdy! Got about 7 other Mercer products and other than their honing rod, I love them all – especially at their price point. Would happily recommend to friends and family.

Awesome Camping Spatula! For size and ability to handle heavier meats or scraping, this little tool is small but mighty! Perfect weight and balance, with ideal thinness on turner blade. Best for car camper gear. Probably too heavy for backpacking and then you’d want a different material. Look no further. It works and washes up well! I’m a Happy Camper! Literally!

My Little Spatula, 2.5 Inch x 2.5 InchWhen my wife first saw my little spatula, she was underwhelmed. But my spatula is mighty! I tirelessly cooked one of the most complicated culinary masterpieces she ever saw; shock and awe were here expressions. Now she says my little spatula is the best one she’s ever used. The moral of the story is that it’s not the size of your spatula that dictates the quality of your meal.—…. The thing is great. I use it in cast iron for eggs. Perfect size.

Mercer Culinary Millennia TurnerSomehow I recently got the urge to start cooking meals with a cast iron skillet. Along with purchasing the skillet (a 10″ lodge), I thought I might also need a spatula. I purchased a Mercer brand chef knife (Genesis) a few months back and have had a positive experience with it. When I saw that Mercer made these turners, I thought they would be a safe choice for my spatula.Indeed, the turner has been another positive experience so far. The handle is comfortable. The edge of the blade is thin enough to get under food but the blade also feels very sturdy. It is easy to clean. As far as the size, 4″ x 2.5″ feels about right for my application; anything larger might be hard to navigate around the skillet. I gathered that I should not use this to scrape the skillet clean because the stainless steel will remove seasoning. So for that I’ve been using a wooden spoon. One thing that would come in handy is a hole near the top of the handle for hanging. Aside from that nitpick, I have no complaints so far.

Feels flimsyUse on my flat top at work. Am picky about the handle angle of some of the “turners” I’ve tried to buy. This is angle I prefer. This is light weight! The edges are already starting to roll a bit after a couple weeks. Works good on eggs but doesn’t do so good picking up presses. It’s not as good cooking burgers as the more ridged spatulas. Probably wouldn’t buy again unless I only wanted it for eggs. Oh and it already has a burn line on the handle but I don’t know how long it had been laying there before I walked up.

Not balanced? Why bother?I got this with a griddle to cook burgers primarily. I used to work as a fast food grill cook for 4 years, and I’m a tad picky about my equipment, even if my culinary taste leaves things to be desired. Point is, I know a good spatula when I see it. Sadly, this is not that. Kinda.See, this thing is sturdy, and easy enough to clean. (How would one go about making it hard to clean, actually?) If you have a griddle you can do so much with it. It would be so easy to call it professional grade because it almost is. I wanted this to be so good! But it has one flaw that stops it dead in the water for me. It’s not balanced at all. If you’re cooking burgers, it’s best for the spatula to sit on the “blade” so that after you flip it, you can kill any bacteria that might’ve gotten on it, and so it doesn’t butcher the beef. (This matters less if you’re cooking frozen patties like I find myself doing, but I still want the option). You might have different needs, in which case go wild! It’s well made for the most part, but it ultimately doesn’t matter if it doesn’t sit up right. This is non-negotiable, and as such I can not recommend this for anything more than a grill scraper. 2 out of 5 stars 🙁

Grill scraper is geat for cutting doughBought the grill scraper for cutting pizza dough and use it as a dough “spatula”. Edge is very sharp, so can easily cut even high hydration dough very well.
