Purchased this to increase access to more knives that I use on a daily basis while cooking. This is very sturdy, and easy to safely load the blades. I like that it has more of the larger slots which are great for blades like my favorite Nakiri/Santoku and Chinese chef knives. I find the angle is great in design to access the knives and there is sufficient spacing so that it does not clutter the blades. On a shelf or counter this is aesthetic and blends within your kitchen environment. I recommend that you clean and dry your knives prior to storing them so as not to transfer food into the slots that could cause odors. Hand wash in a soapy warm water and air dry completely as needed. Not in a dishwasher.

Very satisfied with this well made generic kitchen knife holder block – lots of slots of sufficient sizes to handle all of our kitchen knives. Even room for a couple of knives is a single slot.
We made the mistake of ordering a kitchen knife set that did not include a block. This generous sized knife holder with lots of large slots solved that problem. Not only did it easily accommodate the new knife set but also held our old kitchen knives as well as out steak knives which previously were stored in a drawer.

Usually you have to by a holder with knives. The lower section was perfect for steak knives. The large shafts on the main part can handle nearly all knives.

The finish is really nice! The slots for my various knives are large and deep and smooth. Overall, this knife block gets an A+. As a professional chef I have a lot of knives that I use even at home. This holds every knife I normally use on a daily basis plus I have a few empty slots.

I LOVE this knife block! I have tons a kitchen knives and numerous blocks, but this one is by far my favorite. It looks ok (not the most attractive, but not the least either), but the functionality is great! Most block designs assume you have one chef knife and then several skinny knives and that’s it. What about if you have a chef knife, a santoku, a larger or smaller secondary chef knife, etc? This block lets me store multiple chefs knives, santokus, and even a nakiri in it no problem. The large slots are also larger and easier to get in and out of than other blocks, likely with less dulling of the knives two since there is less contact while sliding. The steak knife slots, conversely, are a little narrower than on many blocks, and might give people some trouble. I can get my “skinny” steak knives in them, but not my set of “fat” ones. There were some splinters inside of the slots, which aggravated me at first. I gave the block and good cleaning when I got it and spray some water into the slots before drying throughly, and it seems to have helped with the splinters some. Still, I don’t really think those will be a problem, and sliding knives in and out will probably eventually get rid of them. The block, even the smaller one is somewhat large, so make sure to measure carefully. But if you have a knife set with multiple large knives, this is the way to go!

I have several Japanese cutting and dicing knives that are wide. This block offers several such large slots, and the overall block is of better quality than other blocks I have owned.

Like the wood finish. Like the sturdiness.
