A Very Nice KnifeWith a serrated knife, it’s all about the depth and bite edge on the teeth. Both are terrific here. I think the best feature is the handle. The profile and slightly contoured edges give you plenty of control without needing to put a lot of downward pressure on the cut. The only minor drawback I’ve found was in cutting more rustic, artisan-style breads. A smaller/closer serration may work better on the brittle crusts. But if you’re patient and let the blade do all the work, there’s no need for an additional knife for the job. I love it!

Great knife for both soft and dense breadsIt was hard for me to spend this much on one knife, but I was tired of hacking away at homemade bread with our old, dull bread knife. Now I wish I hadn’t waited so long! This knife cuts any kind of bread so easily – both the soft kind that the dull knife would tear into crumbs, and the heavy, dense sourdough that the old knife would get through only with a lot of muscle and sawing. I know Zwilling makes much more expensive knives than this, and I’m glad they have this one that is more affordable, while still being a great knife!
