Love it, the colors are fun, all around a great scale. The display is slightly hard to read if you have a large container on top, it would help if the display was backlit
Ellen M –
I purchased this to make breads. Many recipes had fruit and vegetables by weight such as zucchini bread. Now I can get the ingredients right.

Can’t say enough about this scale. Makes portioning out any food item easy and simple. I usually put a plate on it, zero out the weight, then proceed to portion out my food. Been using it for several months now and has been very durable even with dropping it a few times.

i use the scale to weigh coffee beans for single dose grinding. a gram or two discrepancy makes for a bad espresso.
this scale works great for my purpose.
a few months ago i bought the amazon basics scale and it didn’t work for me. if i touched the scale or cup holding the beans the displayed weight could be wrong by up to two grams.
i wish i had bought the escali scale to begin with.

Based upon the reviews I purchased this product. On arrival and inspection I decided to return the product as it was no better or worse than a Salter unit I already owned and was considerably cheaper to purchase. I declined to return the product as I had to pay for postage and a re-stocking fee. Apparently this is due to the fact it came from the USA. So it now sits along side my original Salter digital scales. Build quality, ease of use, durability all comparable. In summary Buyer Beware you can buy alternatives for a fraction of the cost!

I’m kind of a neurotic person, so when it came time to start tracking my food intake the neuroticism came out of the woodwork. I wanted to make sure that when I weighed my food I got accurate readings. I scoured all the reviews online and I bought (and returned) most of the reviewers top picks. That’s till I got my Escali Primo.
First Impressions
Damn this thing is ugly! Its plastic and it’s light, even cheap feeling….but don’t let any of this fool you.
The Good
This thing is lightning fast! It kept up with a pour which making getting specific amounts a breeze. Every other scale I’ve tried lag behind which makes pouring cereal a crap shoot. The Primo is also very accurate, giving me the same reading time and again no matter where I placed the weight on the platform.
Though it’s made of plastic, it’s built tough, like that plastic Fisher-Price train you had as a kid that could take a fall from a 4 story balcony an not even get a scratch. It’s light but stays put on the countertop. Then there’s my favourite feature…the “click” when pressing a button so you know you pressed it. A lot of the scales I’ve owned you had to press the buttons “just right” for them to work. The screen isn’t backlite (bummer) but I’ve yet to have a hard time reading the display.
The Bad
Damn it’s ugly!
In conclusion….don’t be fooled by the ugly, cheep plastic look. This is a serious food scale that makes tracking your nutrition less of a chore . It’s fast and accurate meaning you get your weighing done and out of the way faster and since it’s light and just the right size you can get it out of sight just as fast.

I have started to make bread instead of store bought. Measuring dry ingredients by weight has improved my results. So that means this is accurate scale.

I use this scale in the kitchen to measure out ingredients for sourdough starter and for baking bread. Fast and accurate, a great addition for anyone needing a compact scale for the kitchen.
Vickie –
I purchased this kitchen scale when I got my new bread machine. I weigh each ingredient to assure more consistent baking results. I can not say enough good things about this scale. It is highly accurate and it is compact and easy to store. I have recommended it to several of my friends. The price is very reasonable and it does exactly what I need. I am very happy with this purchase.

Love this scale. The “Tare” feature really makes it (zeroing out the scale with a plate, bowl, etc on scale before adding ingredient to be weighed).
Many European chefs use ounces or grams for measurements so no guessing anymore.
Easy to use, quick. Use it frequently.
