Turkey basterI bought this for my daughter’s Christmas Stocking gift, and I believe she loves it. Haven’t seen her use it, maybe for Thanksgiving….

Excellent for suctioning water from plant saucers.I use this for taking up extra water after watering my indoor plants. The curved tip makes it MUCH easier to use than a standard baster. Excellent product.

Didn’t Backwash Out Like The OthersI have to say that the one thing I hate about basters is when you suck fat out of a pot of meat, these things almost always backwash out before you can get the fat cleanly into a bowl. So I decided to get the Cuisinart baster and this one – and see which one worked better. I was shocked that this OXO did a better job. Mainly, this brand has much less of a backwash issue than the Cuisinart. They are both very good, but this one kept the fat in the baster better than the Cuisinart. This may sound like a silly issue, but I am tired of cleaning up fat juice on the counter. So this product gets my vote.

Puts up with use and abuse its not intended for*EDIT*: Of note I have not used this product for its intended use and have never used it with hot liquids, there are a lot of reviews that suggest this product does not work so well with hot liquids (like it is intended) so that would be a huge strike against this product but it is one I can neither confirm nor deny as I have only used it with room temperature liquids.I actually just bought this to help me with aquascaping. So I have been using it to move around, sludge, pruned plant bits, do targeted micro-water changes, and on occasion move really small live stock (I won’t be doing that again for anything other than the baby clams, daphnia, rotifers, and worms, it was a bit too stressful and upsetting for all other small critters I subjected to this form of movement, but it did always physically get the job done with ease which is all to the credit of this baster.) It has never clogged during any of this abusive use on my part, and it has been perfectly happy to put up with me rinsing it out with: bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol to keep it sterile without degrading at all from this harsh treatment — though I have been careful to keep the rubbing alcohol away from the bulb as rubbery substances are often a bit at risk for degrading when exposed to things like rubbing alcohol, so I have no idea if the bulb will tolerate rubbing alcohol. The angled tip is really useful for aiming, and the cleaning tool that it comes paired with is indeed a useful and appreciated touch.

Used while winterizing the camper’s hot water heaterI need to winterize my camper and when I drain out the hot water heater, there’s some water that sits below the drain. I went to get my old baster out and the rubber bulb was as hard as rock. This one is made of silicone. Nice! I thought this might work. It does! Suctioned well! The angled end worked in my favor!I put it right in the camper’s tool bag, when I was finished. As for it’s intended use, I think this is a very nice one. Haven’t used it for basting. I’m not sure if the angle is a must. But this one seems so extra nice, I intend to buy another for the kitchen. I’d imagine the cleaning brush will come in handy. All of the decades that I’ve bought and used OXO, that keeps me coming back to buying their other products. Very thoughtfully made and they stand behind their products.

This thing works greatI have tried several other bulb basters and generally what happens with them is1- When you lift up the baster it squirts out the end2- The bulb pops off the tube because it’s not tight enough3- Have to manipulate it when laying it down4- Tube itself ends up cracking from the hot liquidThis is the 1st one I have had that none of the above happen with. When you lift it up full of liquid it doesn’t squirt out, and it has a resting piece so when you put it on the counter its angled up. So far after much use, it has not cracked or anything. Bulb fits tight and pulls liquid up every time.Would absolutely buy this again or gift one.

Nice design.Love the clear baster & the slight curve on the end. Come with large cleaning brush to clean the interior. I would this Turkey baster again. This would make for an excellent gift.
