Pretty good but odd designThis is a nice solidly built pepper mill, but I think the design is a bit strange. You control the coarseness of the grind with the knob on top; loosen it to get a coarser grind. The problem is that this is the same knob that holds the top on. So, when you loosen it to get a really coarse grind the top is loose and wobbly. It’s kind of weird and off-putting to me, but it does work fine.Grinding pepper is easy and you can get anything from very fine to very coarse, as you like. It’s really a pretty good product. It fills from the top and the opening is nice and wide.

Not the bestIt works but it doesn’t hold much salt, jams a lot, and isn’t the most practical salt mill for use around the kitchen. If you just want to leave this on your dining table because its pretty attractive looking, it would work for that purpose but it isn’t very convenient for use around the kitchen. It is always jamming and I can never tell if it is spitting out salt or not and I need to wrestle with it for ever when I want to season things in the kitchen before cooking. I am using the pink Himalayan salt in it, not like a wet salt or anything, so it should be okay but this thing is just a pain if you need more than a little salt. It doesn’t store much salt in the reservoir and you can’t see the level but you can see that from the pictures, its just a few more points off for practicality. I always have to bang the thing on the counter to unjam the clogged up salt and it makes a mess. Unless you really like the way this one looks, I would recommend a different one.

Superfine pepper grinder (but salt too course)Grinds very finely! Love that because my OXO grinder is too course for the kids. The salt grinder by this brand, however, does NOT grind finely. Would stick with OXO for salt and this one for pepper (which makes for an unsightly match).

A Very Smooth, Functional Pepper MillThis pepper mill works much smoother than the plastic mill it replaces. The family likes it a lot!

Grind setting doesn’t stay where you set it.This pepper mill can produce a nice dusting of pepper, but there is a strange design flaw. The knob for adjusting your grind is on the top, but it also holds the lid on. As I grind clockwise, the knob starts loosening. So I have to keep tightening the knob to keep the grind consistent, and to keep its lid on! For the price, I expected better quality.

Looks Very Nice, Functions Very Well, Not the Best Build Quality.I love ground pepper. I will put that stuff on almost everything. I’ve had mixed experiences with cheaper grinders from Amazon, my local grocery store and other places where the grinding aspect just seems to blow out completely and renders the grinder useless. The Peugeot grinder’s stainless steel cracking/grinding mechanism so far seems to have waaaay more punch to it instead of the plastic and ceramic pieces of the cheaper grinders. It came preloaded with some black peppercorns that don’t taste anything special, but definitely taste like black pepper. You can turn the little ball at the top to adjust fineness of the grind, so looser means bigger pieces of pepper… But you’re also loosening the entire structure of the top connecting to the base, so suddenly the whole grinder feels wobbly and cheap. The metal ring you see pictured isn’t glued or secured to the wood, so you just have a random spinning silver ring on the product for some reason? While I’m willing to give Peugeot another shot since the grinding the cracking and then grinding method seems quite good and they seem to have a good warranty, I don’t know if this is the style you want to go with.If this helped, please click the button below!

A simple, beautiful pepper mill that worksThis is a simple, beautiful pepper mill that works. At first I had trouble getting it working. I tried backing off the knob on the top to the point I thought was too loose and bingo, perfectly ground pepper. This peppermill feels solid, like it will work forever. Very happy with this purchase.
