By using downward pressure and a rocking motion, this tool breaks up garlic cloves quickly and easily, forcing the pieces up through the mesh of holes in its base. The crushed pieces are then held in the curved design, allowing them to be spooned or scraped conveniently into a pan or bowl. Additional cloves can also be crushed at this stage before emptying. Rocker is easy to clean under running water but is also Dishwasher safe. Available in a range of colors or in a brushed metal finish. Dishwasher safe.

Minces garlic fineI used the Joseph garlic rocker crusher for garlic. The main part of the garlic comes through, very fine, but there is remainder of the garlic on the bottom side which you have to scrape off.

Loved this Garlic Rocker till it broke. We have both the stainless and plastic/metal versions of this garlic rocker and the plastic one is by far the better tool. The metal part of the plastic rocker is sharper on the business side of the rocker and does a great job mincing garlic into nibs. It works better than any other garlic press or crusher I’ve tried. The stainless rocker does not have the same cutting edge as the plastic/metal one, it is blunt and seems to be designed for mashing not mincing. As such, the metal rocker goes unused in our house. Our plastic rocker got plenty of use until it broke. The ideal garlic rocker would be the stainless one with the same cutting edge as the plastic/metal one. Until Joseph Joseph improves the cutting edge of the stainless rocker, the plastic/metal rocker is what we will stick with. Joseph Joseph is replacing our broken rocker with a new plastic/metal one. The customer service person I emailed, said they had a problem with casting the plastic in the early manufacturing of the rocker and had since developed an improved technique that should correct the breakage problem. Time will tell. I got no response to my comment to Joseph Joseph that the cutting edge on the stainless one was inferior, a masher not a mincer, that needed improving.

Works great! So easy.I love how easy this is. My regular garlic press works but is a pain to clean. I always had to scrape it as best I could to get out the bits of smashed garlic before I put it in the dishwasher. I was a little worried as I read one review that said this garlic rocker didn’t work. It worked perfectly for me. I’ve used it twice so far and it was simple. It got the entire garlic bulb. The size of the pieces are a bit larger than the garlic press but that didn’t matter to me. Probably closer to what you would get if you minced it by hand but so fast. Also easy to clean. I haven’t even needed to put it in the dishwasher, which is great because now it is ready when I need it. I don’t have to go looking for it in the dishwasher if I need it before I run a dish cycle. The only way I can imagine it not working is if you don’t rock it as you press down. Maybe it wouldn’t work as well if you just pressed straight down, but that is not the way it is intended to be used, or maybe if your garlic was really old and rubbery. I am puzzled as to how someone could say it didn’t work. I am very happy with this product.

Only lasted two yearsThe plastic broke. I bought the steel one to replace it. The lower cost of the plastic isn’t worth it if it breaks.————————————————————————————–I hesitated to buy this on the internet because the cutting grate looks like a sink drain with widely separated round holes. I thought it would crush more than cut. But when I saw it in the store I could see that the bottom side has hexagonal openings with sharp cutting edges. So I bought it.It is easy to use and I have no complaints. Other reviewers complained about waste. I peeled the garlic before I crushed it and had no problem getting the garlic to pass through the grate. If you follow the instruction, and only scrape out the garlic that comes through, there would be a lot of waste. There was a lot left inside the holes, but I just scraped it off the back so I had no waste at all. I was happier with the results than I have been with traditional garlic presses. The biggest problem I have with garlic presses is that they break, and it’s hard to tell if something is going to break in use. The plastic Joseph Joseph rocker has a metal cutting grate in a plastic body. I think it is sturdy enough, because it has cutting edges (not just a flat grate like other garlic crushers) you don’t need to use as much force to push the garlic through, and you can see if the garlic has gone though and stop pushing. It has not broken yet, I will come back and tell you if it does. The solid metal version is undoubtedly sturdier but also a lot more expensive.

Hit and MissA bit of a problem with actually crushing all the garlic and having it go through to the top of the little cradle like is displayed. The hexagons in the metal are definitely hard to unclog, especially without an included tool for the job. Good design though, solid construction.

Love This Garlic Crusher!I’m in love with this garlic crusher! It’s not super fancy, but it gets the job done in a pinch and keeps my hands from smelling like garlic throughout the day. This tool is easier to clean then a typical, one-handed garlic crusher is. It comes with a little brush to help get into the holes, too. The only downside is that if you’re handling a larger garlic clove it might have trouble. I’ve had to cut a few in half before I could get them to crush. Overall, though, this is a great product and the design is easy to work with.

Think Twice, Use Gently…Heard about this at a work event, and quickly ordered it as we cook so much… so first the good – this makes mincing garlic a snap. It does it super quickly, and you can get on with cooking. It’s a huge enabler and time saver. Now the negatives… the time you save by using it will be more than needed to clean up the ground in pieces of garlic in the grooves and ridges; you’ll also need to up 30% of the amount of garlic you need while cooking because of what’s left buried in the little holes.Unfortunately, it also broke in half after about 2 months of using it. Had that not been the case, I’d still be using it because I prefer to clean than to actually mince finely, but unfortunately, it cracked in two and made it completely unusable.

Broke after 2 weeksTerrible product— this broke after 2 weeks of light use. It is also very difficult to mince the garlic with this device— the garlic has a tendency to shoot out from under it and the blades are not sharpe enough to mince.
