Well designedIt took me awhile to decide on this garlic press, but I am very happy with my purchase. It works great and cleans up easily. I highly recommend it!

Best garlic pressWanted to find a garlic press that worked, plus was easy to clean. Although it is a bit pricey, this one is the best I’ve used, and it will press ginger as well.

Spend the money for this – it’s totally worth itWHAT A GREAT PURCHASE…THIS GARLIC PRESS IS AWESOME. Easy to use, does not require a beefy guy to squeeze out the garlic. There is a scraper that pushes the garlic out. I even put in unpeeled garlic and this press spit it out effortlessly. Easy to clean. Dishwasher safe. What a joy. Spend the money – this thing is so worth it. This Rosle press replaces a press I bought just over a month ago that was less expensive. However, that purchase turned out to be a big mistake. Initially I was going to donate that press, but I can’t do that to someone…it now resides in the garbarge…after one month. So spend the money, it will save you money in the long run.

Four stars because I really like the earlier version better…I moved out of a house that had the older version of the Rösle garlic press and absolutely loved it. This is the same high quality and heavily built stainless quality as the last one. It presses garlic very well and is super easy to use and clean.I just really liked the older square version without the scrapper. I would use the back of a knife to scrape the garlic off the press and into the bowl and the just seemed easier and less messy than the built in scraper, but your mileage may vary. Overall, still super easy to use, the scraper gets 90% of the garlic into the bowl (and I spend minutes trying to get that last 10%, but you may be a more sane individual than I am). Then it all flips open to clean with water and a fingernail to get rid of the course pulp that it keeps out of your dish. These things are work of art and worthy of hanging in your kitchen just to let others view them :o)

MADE IN CHINAI bought this because everything about it implied it was made in Germany. It may have been designed in Germany, but it was made in China. I’ll come back to update this after I’ve gotten some use out of it and can speak to the quality.I had to return it:If you try to use 2 small/medium sized cloves, garlic squirts out the sides and gets behind those large hinging plates on the side. I had to use a toothpick to push the rest out. The design may work for one clove at a time but I did two. I also thought this would be a dream to press since it’s got the those fancy hinges. I thought this thing would be like driving a Mercedes, but it takes just as much effort as my old $20 garlic press. The design looks very intelligent but is a actually a detriment, in use and in cleanup.

Finally… a virtually perfect garlic press!I have long struggled on my quest to get the perfect garlic press. So mundane, but so important. I found one good product decades ago that was cast aluminum solid construction and it worked well. Unfortunately, the rivet holding the handle to the base broke and I was forced to put a bent nail to hold it together. It worked, but it looked pretty pitiful. Models appeared along the way, but could not measure up to this solid purchase.Along came the Roesle products. I had purchased a peeler that was solid and well constructed. So I opted to finally replace my old press for its version. It also featured a “cleaning” option. This product is spectacular! It is not only solidly constructed as a stainless steel press, but the pressure I am able to exert on the pressing action is so much better… it has a better mechanical advantage than my treasured older one. Moreover, the cleaning option is simply a movement of the straining part of the press to be available for direct cleaning. So the difficulty removing the leftover fibrous part of the clove is eliminated. The material can be easily rinsed off (or in some cases the material can be easily added to the stew pot if appropriate). The archaic effort to unclog the micro-holes of my old press with a toothpick or needle simply goes away. Any remnants stuck in the holes of the exposed part will reliably wash off in the dishwasher.Trust me that it is worth the price if you regularly use garlic like we do. No more of the, “Jeez, should I add another clove or two” decision. It is so easy, you make the right choice every time. While I don’t go to the extent that some have said about not peeling the clove, I do at least cut off the attachment end of the clove (and then you can leave the paper on the clove) before putting it in the press.I am a happy Roesle garlic press user!

Not worth the priceI heard so many good things about this product but it was all hype. The OXO one does a better job. Save your money!

Not the “Perfect” Press….but definitely worth the moneyBeen using this press now for 6+ months and we go through 1+ heads each week. My better-half balked at the price but when I put it on my “Christmas Wish List,” he relented. I didn’t get much else (don’t really need much) but in the end, it was worth it. I did remind him that he spends plenty of $ on his hobby (cooking is mine). Good thing is I often get to “hobby-cook” the results of his hobby and the entire family goes to bed with our bellies full! There is a bit of waste since it doesn’t press any of the paper or thin skin through…and you have to manually flick off the pressed remnants close to the hinge. But it’s super easy to clean, dishwasher safe (I’m super lazy in that regard) and….still looks as good as the day I literally unwrapped from under the Tree.As an aside, most of my current recipes are of the “rustic” nature and I end up “smashing” or rough chopping my cloves. Guess who’s using the press more, atm? Aint me!Bottom line, you can’t really go wrong with this one, especially if you’re a hobby cook. Real chefs mince theirs with a knife.

You get what you pay forI bought this because I wanted to get something to make mincing a little easier. Overall it never really comes out that clean with the old one I had, and it’s a pain to get everything off, then half of its sticks to the inside… you get the idea. So with this company making other products I already own and like very much, I said why not. Overall – it’s a really good mincer. Not much more to say. Clever mechanism that “cuts” the mince so it drops out (kind of like the mechanical ice cream scoopers with the swipe blade across the spoon) and it opens up and is dishwasher safe. Can’t beat that. On top of it all, it’s built very very strong. I have exerted a ridiculous amount or pressure on it, and it doesn’t show any sign at all of squeaking, creaking, and certainly not bending. For garlic you’d have no problem, but at the time I was up against some stubborn ginger and this thing stayed with me the whole way. But this one you’ll never need another. It is the best mincer on Amazon from a company that prides themselves on making that accolade. Usually they do – and they definitely did here.
