Works great with some, not allNice design that compliments any tabletop. When I received it, I only had oriental red peppers (Vietnamese) and I quickly found that the oriental peppers are too chunky to feed into the tight cutting chamber. So I took all the peppers out, cut them up with scissors, then put them back in for another test. This is what the photo shows. Worked acceptably. Later, I replaced the oriental peppers with smaller dry pepperoncini, and this time the mill worked perfectly – easier to mill and produced more consistent cuts. The yield per revolution is still quite small, which some folks may not be too happy with, but IMO if you have proper hot stuff loaded, the small doses are perfect.

Peppers need to be pre-groundIt’s nice looking with a really great design but does not do a good job of dispensing freshly ground pepper which really the whole point of having one in my opinion. I put a small amount of smallish garden grown chiles that were dried from last year in the mill and had poor results. Next I removed them and ran them though the food processor for a bit then back into the mill. Works better but still too much effort for the results. Will keep looking.

Grounds perfectlyI had the pleasure of seeing this beauty in a Positano Italy restaurant. I was so impressed with it, that I took a pic and ordered it immediately. I was so happy when I received it. It is so easy to fill and use. I only wish the glass vessel would be able to fill up, but it cannot as the peppers are place on the other half which is smaller. Its perfect to avoid big pieces of the flakes now with this allowing more control of the heat you want. I am going to be looking at more of AdHocs products to order!

Looks cool but doesn’t work well.Looks cool but grinds way too slowly.

Hand-powered with twist motion, but excellent cutter! At first, I was very disappointed. It grinds the dried peppers (that’s what I bought it for) with a twisting of the wrists, like a traditional pepper mill. I had mistakenly thought it was battery-powered. Also, my first use was a dismal failure, because I was attempting to grind peppers that had been out of the dehydrator for a couple of days and had absorbed enough moisture from the air to make them less than crisp. This grinder only works on the crispest of dried peppers. After letting the peppers dry out a bit more in my dehydrator, they were easy and quick to grind into a nice fine ground pepper for my shakers! I found that grinding up enough peppers to fill several racks of my dehydrator only took me a half hour or so as I relaxed in front of the television. Not a good choice if you’re impatient or have arthritis (go with a powered one), but does a fantastic job of cutting up/grinding the peppers!

Unique and works greatExcellent quality pepper slicer. Easy to use and the consistency of the grind is perfect everytime. We purchased an additional grinder/slicer for green hatch peppers. It works equally well on seeds and whole dried peppers. And they look nice, fun to use.

Perfect for adding spiceCuts the peppers into very small bits. The spice flavor and heat is spread evenly and there are no overwhelming hot bits.Easy to add the peppers and the plexiglass makes it easy to see the level. The cap on the exit let’s you accumulate and accurately measure. When first using, it takes little time for the peppers to get seated. After it cuts fine.

Works great, wish the shape was wider at the topThe pepper is much spicier when you use this grinder.I only wish they would change the shape. You could fit more peppers in if the top of the glass was wider.

It takes a couple days to get over the ghost pepper. After that, I like it.Modern look
