Works well enoughNote that I am reviewing the stainless steel thermometer, not the red fold-out temperature probe.I was relieved/entertained to see that it came with a “Super LONLIFE” battery… Speaking of which, it comes with the battery installed and a little plastic pull strip hanging out that keeps the battery disconnected until you unpack it, but the battery was still wrapped in its own plastic, so pulling the strip would not have made the item work. So if you get one of these, just go ahead and take the battery door off to install the battery instead of pulling the little strip and wondering why it won’t come on.Aside from that, the item worked mostly as expected. The temperature seemed accurate as far as I could tell and it responds very quickly to change. The magnet worked well to hang it on the side of my smoker. The display was very clear and easy to read – note that there is no backlight so you can’t see it in the dark. I had some issues with the probe connection, sometimes the temperature would show “—” and twisting the plug would make the temp reappear. This wasn’t really a problem since I was watching things pretty closely and not relying on the thermometer’s alarm – which isn’t incredibly loud, but sufficient. The metal strain relief spring on the plug is a nice touch, I feel like there should be something similar where the cord goes into the probe as well – also note that this is not water proof where the cord is crimped into the probe, as indicated in the instructions, and the probe must be hand-wiped clean.Overall, not a bad little unit. I’m sure I’ll be using it often

Love it and would make a great giftI’m very happy with this. It is easy to use and accurate. I like that it has a light for outdoor use and a magnet to stick to the grill or fridge. It is solidly made. I have some other products by this brand and they are top notch. I would recommend this. I also think this would make a great gift. Especially, a housewarming or secret santa/exchange. It’s a good price and a solid gift for most people.

Simple, easy to use, a hit in the kitchen and on the grillSo awhile back I wanted to go from the old dial thermometers that can be unrealizable / finicky after to something that is instantaneous and reliable. Now I’ve always been a huge Weber fan, and I have 3, yes, 3 of their grills (compact propane, compact charcoal for quick times and for camping, and a large charcoal beast for family cookouts), with accessories and its a brand I have come to know and trust. so I bought their thermometer for 24 dollars and it broke in a little over a month from only sporadic use. No I didn’t abuse or use it as a lawn dart or sit on it either (ouch!). So one day I was watching American’s test kitchen with my wife and they did a review of these fold out thermometers and the ones they tested ranged from 50 to like 150.00 dollars which I think is pricey for a thermometer. So I went with this and it works and works well. It reads quickly and that means a lot when slow cooking or low and slow grilling and you don’t want to lose all the heat opening the grill lid over and over. The yellow backlight also kicks on instantaneously but can be shut off with a press of the button. Oh by the way the main button on top is what makes the thermometer prong come out kind of like a switch blade, which reminds me of the early years I spent in New York in the 80s. It shuts off when long pressed on the button, and is easy to clean with soap and water. It is not submersible so don’t stick the whole thing into the sink. I wish it was submersible and the battery compartment was waterproof, but at this price, can’t ask for everything. It did come with a battery, has been durable so far, and the plastic does not feel flimsy or cheap. I can’t speak on the longevity, but I figure at this price it is reasonable to replace. Hope that helps to all the grill dudes / dudettes, Swifties, Monsters, and everyone else out there!

Decent thermometerThis was an interesting item. I know a few people that have them and really enjoy being able to just leave the thermometer in and not have to open the oven/crockpot/ grill hood. I figured it was worth a try. The temperature read was accurate and seemed simple enough to use by pushing the three buttons on the top. I really liked the magnetic backing on the display so that I could just stick it to the oven door. The only draw backs are that if you are cooking different pieces of meat e.g. chicken breasts or steaks then you are only getting the read out of one piece. I had to take out a tray of chicken and check each one with the probe. At that point it would be easier to just have a regular thermometer. This would be really good for something like pork shoulder or brisket.

Top Notch Instant Read with all the featuresMy previous instant read thermometer died so I had to find a new one. I believe its vital to take internal temperatures when cooking meats, and even baked goods. The last loaf of home made bread I made recently advised that the loaf would be done when the internal temperature reached a certain amount. This is long way from the old way of inserting a toothpick or knife. Right? So, I ordered this GOODFUL Thermometer. It is a very nice improvement from my previously loved thermometer. Here’s the improvements that exceed that had been the standard for internal instant read thermometers a few years ago. — The back of the case has two strong magnets set flush inside the back of the case. It holds strongly to any metal surface, like the side of your appliances. — This thermometer releases the internal probe in a jack knife fashion by pressing a button. A second button turns on the backlit temperature reading. I LOVE that the LED reading doesn’t time out. My previous one would time out and make me put the probe back into place to “clear’ the prior recorded temperature and take a new current temperature. This new one is superior in this way allowing me to start the power and manually turn it off by holding the button down for 2 seconds. Easier to use and lets you be in charge.–The backlit screen projects the temperature in black digital figures that are large and easy to read.I love this internal thermometer for every feature it has!HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

ExcellentThis seems like an accurate and easy-to-use kitchen thermometer. The probe folds away into the plastic body of the device for protection and is released by a push button. The LCD readout has a backlight so it is easy to read the 3/8″ high digits. It operates on regular a single AAA battery. And it has magnets of the back so you can attach it to the side of the fridge. If I boil a pot of water and then put the probe in, it goes from room temperature to 211.5°F to 212.5°F degrees in about 3 seconds. So the accuracy and speed seem good. I’ve used it a couple of times for actually measuring what I was cooking and was not disappointed.

A Delightful Grilling GadgetI took the Goodful meat thermometer for a test drive today to explore the features and operation. My Ninja Foodi Indoor grill has its own temperature probe, is my usual way to grill pork chops at lunch, and looked to be an excellent side-by-side testbed. The plastic-wrapped, generic AAA battery that came with the timer was fully charged and ready to go. The slide switch on the back selects timer, temperature, and off. I opted for temperature and then used the buttons on the top to choose the pig icon, which is 170F. I then pushed the long probe into the pork chop, set it on the grill alongside the other pork chop with the Ninja’s probe, and began cooking. A short time later, the Ninja chimed to announce that cooking was complete, and seconds later, the Goodful thermometer chimed in agreement. This method seemed to be a good, practical test to see that the Goodful thermometer works as advertised: – Continuously reporting the current temperature. – Being safe to operate on a hot grill from raw to well done. – Chiming when reaching the set temperature. This Goodful thermometer is a well-made tool that I would trust on the outdoor grill.

It’s perfect!I love this meat thermometer. I always thought having a digital meat thermometer was a little silly but let me tell you my cooking is so much better now. No more dried out chicken because I couldn’t tell if it was fully done or not yet, so I just kept it cooking to be sure. This thermometer is easy to read, use and clean. I love that it has a magnet, so it stays on my fridge until I need it and don’t have to go digging in a drawer for it. I have used it several times now on several different types of meat and I highly recommend it!

Convenient, quick, accurate and good for oven cooking and bakingI needed to replace a thermometer whose probe had frayed after years of use. This GOODFUL Thermometer is handy, small, stores easily and appears accurate so far as I can tell. The batteries install quickly, and the thermometer being all one unit with magnetic back means it is inobtrusive and always at-hand. The probe easily folds out, like a swiss army knife, and is long enough to use on thick roasts. The display is easy to read, and the device responds quickly to take a temperature read.I like this thermometer, it does everything I need it to for the oven. I wouldn’t think to expose this to a direct flame over a grill.

My favorite non-bluetooth thermometerEverything about this thermometer works well. Its think and chunky so its easy to grip and insert into your meat. I love the switchblade knife action of the probe – its snappy and feels great when it pops out. Finally, the magnet on the back are strong enough for it thermometer to not slip or slide off the side of a refrigerator. The reads are fast and the backlight stays on so if I have it open and inserted into my meat, I know I can glance over and immediately see a temperature reading without pushing a button to see the light again.
