It’s easy to read, good stable shape, but makes an odd clickI like the shape: it’s almost vertical, so I can put it on my nightstand at eye level and still read it.Like any mechanical timer, you need to turn it past a certain point and then, if necessary, back to the time you want. (I play it safe and turn it past 30.) It’s reliable once it starts timing. You need to listen for it, put it to your ear if necessary, and don’t assume it’s going just because you wound it up enough; ONE time, I set it for 59 minutes, and didn’t check to make sure it had started, and it hadn’t. So take a few second to listen to it.The one drawback is the sound. It makes a steady tik-tik-tik-tik-tik that is very soft even when held to the ear; but then every couple of seconds or so it emits a metallic click – not loud, and I would never hear it if I were using it in the kitchen, but it’s JUST loud enough to be annoying when I’m timing a brief nap.

NICE NEAT TIMERI have yet to have a kitchen timer of this kind to “ring” when set under five minutes. In all other respects–clean white plastic appearance, larger size on an adquate stand, fairly accurate 15-minute and longer timing–I like it better than others I’ve had. But for a 1 – 5 minute timer–sucks like all the rest. I hate plastic and was looking for a stainless steel digital, in the end decided all I found not practical for me. I think this one is as good as it gets in plastic and it looks good on my kitchen shelf. The ding ring or buzzer–sort of between–is on the short side and not very loud, but I did hear it when I was in another room. And my hearing iS not all that great. So it works for me.

Mostly goodA well made, accurate and nice looking timer. My only suggestion for improvement is that the ring when time is up is very short, so if I’m in another room I might not hear it. Make it ring longer.

simple and reliable.Ring very quiet and short, don’t go too far away, or take it with you.

One full turn- then set your timeIt works fine. You just have to remember to turn all the way once before setting your time.

Just What I Was Looking ForMy old one finally wore out. This is virtually the same and is always handy in the kitchen!

Wind it upI use this to set time out in my garage. Loud enough to hear and not so expensive it can’t be replaced if broken.Don’t forget to wind the dial around to 60 then back to the time you want to count down from for the bell to ring.
