This was slightly larger than the original gasket for my Fagor Multirapide pressure cooker. It fit very snugly inside the cooker lid, and when cooking I was unable to achieve medium or high pressure. The indicator remained on low pressure for the entire cooking time. A LOT of steam continuously escaped from the lid. Contents were not cooked as expected from past experiences cooking same items.

These gaskets do not have the same shape nor material as the original Fagor DUO 6 l Pressure Cooker Gasket. These gaskets leak. Deficient design. Diameter-wise they appear to fit, but when heated they expand and leak, especially on the high-pressure setting. I suggest you coat the gasket–LIGHTLY–with olive oil before using–just enough so the cooker lid can be twisted on and secured easily. I had 3 or 4 consecutive high-pressure tries, but today the oil trick failed: leaked profusely at high pressure setting and leaked less at low pressure setting. I put too much oil on the gasket today. After toweling off the excess oil and putting a tiny bit on the top rim of the base, I got a successful high-pressure seal. A PITA, but it works.

These rubber sealing rings were exactly as described – measurements were accurate.

I love my pressure cookers. They cook with high pressure, high thermal capacity steam. Not water. Water soaks the food, dissolving out the nutrients. Which then disappear down the drain with the water. Steam imparts energy to the food while retaining all the nutrients and simultaneously hydrating the food. Evenly. Unlike a microwave oven. Which typically dries out the food; heats unevenly and breaks down the cell structure. Steam is surely the most efficient cooking method.
Take it from a Mech. Eng. That is why we use steam turbines. For most power generation. Not hot water. Not hot air. High temperature solar and nuclear reactors use pressurized steam too. The most efficient, economical way to convey energy. Including to food.
These seals fit my Wearever 6 qt. pressure cooker perfectly. I imagine they would fit most pressure cookers with the same lid dimensions. They hold the steam pressure with minimal leakage. Caveat: from my experience, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Don’t just leave the sealing ring in the lid when cleaning up (after everything has cooled down). Remove it, gently. Wash it with soapy water. Rinse. Dry. Then rub a thin coat of Grapeseed Oil (highest boiling pt. edible oil) around the outer surface. Then replace the ring in the lid. (The oil lubricates the ring, preventing it from sticking to the pressure cooker surfaces; especially when twisting the lid to disengage it, after cooking done).
Enjoy the flavor and speed of steam cooking.

As several reviewers wrote, these rings are not as thick as the original – there is more play in the space on the lid. However, so far, the gasket has worked quite well, allowing little steam to escape, as long as the lid is put on carefully.

Perfect fit for my Fagor Splendid pressure cooker. Functionality restored! (I wish it came in a one-pack, as these are quite durable, and I won’t make the same mistake that messed up my original gasket.)

They make a great seal, but make sure you oil at least one side of the seal so the lid slides closed easy.
It it is tight to close, the seal can bunch up and stretch when turning the lid of your pressure cooker to close it.
putting a dab of oil on your finger or paper towel and wiping the bottom of the seal with oil will help prevent this, and will solve most issues with it leaking.
i’ve used this multiple times over the course of a few month. Still works great as long as i oil the seal before closing
