Firstly, I thought £10 ..for a coupe of silicone rings, that’s pricey, but in reality it is not.
Silicone sadly absorbs niffs & odours which are a complete b**** to remove, & you live in fear of tainting a sweet dish with the chilli / curry you made recently …because it is lingering regardless of what you try, (i’m a fan of vinegar myself).
So with that in mind & as a new 8 litre Instantpot owner I thought it wise to buy a coloured pair to swap out as needed.
When they arrived the moulding was excellent (well trimmed) …we as a family know “red = hot” so the other (blue will be for less pungent foods).
Yes, the Instantpot does come with a translucent ring already fitted, & well seated within the lid, but rather than limit yourself a pack of two make sense, at least one can be soaked to try & knock back the pungency if required whilst you use the original, with the blue in reserve for sweet foods.
If you are wondering how much faff it is to change out a silicone seal, ..it isn’t ..the units lid has a broad band to catch, seat & seal easily (you just need to try it 😉

I needed new sealing rings for my instapot. We have had our instapot for almost 5 years so getting new ones was way over due.
These are super easy to install and clean. I would recommend always having a back up sealing ring so you can switch it out if need to when you are cooking.

Instant pot brand reasonably priced, I just replaced a ring that came with the IP best to have a ring on hand, when your pot won’t seal, it was the ring.

We’ve used the heck out of our original Instant Pot liner to make curries and chili, and the smell won’t come out. It’s nice to have the option of switching to a non-scented liner when making something like boiled eggs or a dessert where you don’t want the food to take on garlic and curry flavors.

Purchased for my new Instant Pot 3 qrt / 3 ltr. I had noticed after a couple of uses of the Instant Pot that the original seal (clear) can take on some odors so decided to purchase these. Plan is to use the red one for spicy foods and blue for sweet dishes leaving the original clear one for general preparation of meals. Good quality and would purchase again.

This is a good price to make my Instant Pot work like new again.

I have the Pioneer Woman instant pot that takes FOREVER to seal and hasn’t been cooking properly. I ALMOST bought a new one until I saw this recommended. Immediately I see a visual difference, the new ring is tighter and cleaner!
I left a picture of my instant pot info and the info on the box with the two seals for anyones refrence.

Remember when you first bought your pressure cooker and how excited you were to use it? Then when you washed it, you noticed a certain unpleasant smell somewhere in the kitchen? It is/was the sealing ring on the lid! They don’t tell you that in the TV promotions. The rubber holds the odors of whatever you cook and trust me when I say that odor reeks. No matter how much you clean it, the smell stays. This replacement set of seals is a life saver, not to mention a smell destroyer. I use one color for different types of food (meat is red, blue is pasta, and extras I bought…clear is soups, etc.). By doing this, I have eliminated the odors that build up in just the original ring (after repeated uses). These sealing rings fit just like the original and are perfect replacements or swaps as I mentioned I do. Absolutely you should have these in your kitchen. You (and everyone who enters your kitchen) will be glad you do.
