I would recommend getting a regulator in addition to this connector to monitor pressure and remaining CO2 in your tank.
The set up wasn’t difficult but was a little finicky. Connecting to the CO2 tank was very straightforward, make sure to use a wrench as you’ll never get it tight enough with your hands. I was very careful connecting the other end to the soda stream as the housing is plastic. I didn’t tighten it enough the first time and the pressure level was low which indicated a leak. I went back, tightened it and over tightened which lead to the soda stream not working at all. I went back a third time, loosened it ever so slightly and now it works flawlessly.

This thing, in my mind, is worth its weight in gold!! Instead of buying and replacing the tanks from Drinkmate you can use a larger tank. If you brew beer or are looking to save money you can invest in the tank (pro tip: get a used tank, as most refill places will just exchange so you can save money by getting the cheapest used tank).

The 20lbs tanks are the best buy deals, they last for about 6 months of a family of 4 using it every day to make sparkling water with our drinkmate.

Fits appropriately, I snaked it through my soap dispenser hole in my sink and have the tank under the sink

After reading Internet articles I decided to try to hook up my soda stream to a CO2 bottle. Those exchange bottles are ridiculously expensive. So I went to my local CO2 supplier and bought a bottle of CO2 to keep at home. I then ordered this hose and screwed it onto the bottle and the other end screwed right into the back of the soda machine. I’ve now had it for over a month and it works very very well. It brings the cost of using this thing from dollars down to pennies. I wish I had done it sooner.

Works as intended, I made a small modification to my soda stream to fit it right but you could probably get away without drilling any holes. Works exactly as intended, I leave my CO2 off always as a precaution until I’m ready to stream
