Powerful blenderWe mainly make smoothies, but I was interested in having something that could make nut milks, peanut butter, etc. I had an old Hamilton Beach brand blender which lasted along time, but wasn’t particularly powerful. When it started to burn out I decided to get something a little nicer. I did a LOT of research. The Vitamix generally scored pretty high on all the tests, with some complaints of it being too loud, heavy, powerful??? and expensive. I decided to bite the bullet and buy one. It is loud for sure. It’s heavy and big. It is super powerful. Some people complained that it’s too powerful and that at high speed it creates an air pocket around the blades. Adding a little liquid usually solves that problem for me, the few times it happened. It happened once making hummus and I just used the little tamp down tool they give you to push stuff into the blades. You can just turn the power down a few steps too. I don’t really see it as a problem. I’d rather have the extra power there. The fact that the blades aren’t removeable makes cleaning a little harder, especially with the thick stuff, but you can usually just pour some soapy water in there and run the blades at high speed to clean them. I think my biggest complaint is that the pitcher doesn’t feel very secure on the mount. Like my picture shows, you put the pitcher on the motor mount and when you turn the blades on and the torque kicks in, the whole pitcher twists on the mount. It doesn’t feel totally secure. I don’t think it would ever go flying off or anything. Once it twists and catches on the rubber footing underneath, it feels secure. It just seems like an odd thing that Vitamix would make a pitcher base that is a little larger than the mount it’s sitting on. Unless there’s some design reason for it. It just feel off. That being said, it’s an amazing blender. I make smoothies with cashews, dry oats, chia seeds, etc, and with the old blender it was always a little gritty. This things blends everything 100%, no leftover bits of things in the smoothy. I made oatmilk and it was totally smooth, no bits to strain out. Maybe I could have gotten similar results with a cheaper blender? I don’t regret spending the money. It feels super solid and well built.

My first Vitamix ExperienceI wanted to start making my own smoothies at home since I started adding up the $8/$9 dollar price tag of one. I had another blender, but it would leave the pulp of fruits or make the smoothie too grainy. This mixer virtually removes any pulp (which I do not like) and makes the creamiest smoothie. Although it cost a pretty penny, it will save me money down the road. Especially since it makes more than just juices and smoothies. It also makes soups, peanut butter, etc. Going to watch more videos on what I can try now that I have one.

Very pleased with the product and their customer serviceI bought this blender about 6 months ago. After doing some research we settled for this model as we though it would fit our needs best. We wanted a blender that fit under our kitchen cabinets and there is only two of us so most of the time we do small batches. The size and shape of the Jar that comes with this model is perfect for us. There is another Jar that fits under standard kitchen cabinets but have a wider base and does not do well for small batches. We have been very please with this blender but all of the sudden we started to notice a small drip on the base after removing the jar. Checking out the bottom of the Jar we noticed a hairline crack in one of the corners. I don’t recall dropping the jar but we might have. Anyway, I called Vitamix customer service, and they send me a new Jar. I like when a company stands behind their products.

Fantastic blender, don’t hesitate to buy!I had a Ninja Chef… the container failed and a replacement was more than the original cost of the unit… also, grainy “smoothies”… then I bought a Kitchen Aid… much better smoothies, but the blade assembly melted during a blend – pieces of plastic all in the blend… I bought this Vitamix Explorian E310, and it has been amazing. The hype is true, and it is much quieter than the others I’ve had. I use this every day (most days more than once) and it delivers big time. The quality of the results is beyond compare. I understand now why all the restaurants/smoothie bars/coffee shops use Vitamix. The absolute best. The investment is worth it, and if you pay $$$ for your smoothies or blended coffee drinks, this thing pays for itself. It does the work quickly, and cleaning is even quicker.

All of the hype is true? This is my third blender. My first one lasted about 25 years, but that was before smoothies, and I only used it rarely for meal prep. My second one was heavily used, and only lasted about 6 years. My Vitamix puts the other two blenders to shame. My previous blenders always left bits of food unblended. My Vitamix not only blends every scrap of food, but much faster, and to a smooth texture that I had never known before. And clean up is amazingly easy. All of the hype I’ve heard about the Vitamix is definitely true. I do have one complaint. I purchased the tamper and scraper too. Though I don’t have to use these every time I blend something, you really do need these items for efficient use of the blender. As expensive as the Vitamix is, it should have come with these needed accessories.

Vitamix is the best blenderBought this when Amazon had a $60 off deal on the black color. Vitamix products are expensive. Especially so, considering these are only blenders, but they are the best when it comes to blending anything you put into it and the durability, (though nothing is made like it used to be, even these.)I chose the cheaper model as I don’t need the programs, nor the latest container sensing system, and the 48 oz container is just the right size for 3 of us. The 3″ blades allow for smaller quantities if making a recipe for one. The other higher-priced models have 64 oz containers and 4″ blades, but need a greater minimum quantity of ingredients to work correctly and immerse the blades. The 2 hp matches the 3″ blades and does the same job as the 2.2 hp motor does on the larger containers. So, model choice really is down to minimum batch size and what bells and whistles you feel you want, but don’t actually need!So far I haven’t found fault with the E310. It does a fantastic job of blending anything I’ve put into it, as long as you follow the loading rules; liquids first, followed by lighter ingredients like leafy material, then heavier items like apples followed by heavy ice cubes. This ensures the blades start blending the easier stuff first and the heavier items weight the load down to maintain a feed into the blades until everything is flowing in a strong vortex, completing the blend.Made lots of smoothies and also some soup, heated by the Vitamix itself in 6 minutes or so. I did struggle with a frozen dessert, but I think that was because all the fruit ingredients were frozen solid and I missed the recommendation to let them thaw a little for 10-20 minutes on the counter before blending. The Vitamix had no problem breaking down the solid frozen lumps with the aid of the included tamper, but an air pocket kept forming around the blades and the mix didn’t “flow” and produce the classic 4-segment, stiff vortex shape on the surface. Everything was too frozen. It did produce a nice sorbet though after much tampering!Clean-up is a breeze. You just rinse the container, add warm water with a couple drops of dish liquid and run at high speed. Rinse again and let dry. And that’s it!Unlike other blenders, the blades are not razor sharp and it would be difficult to cut yourself on them if wiping out the container. The “wet” container blending is all about the blade shape, the speed of rotation (most times you are running at the highest speed of 10 and the only factor to think about is run-time) and the subsequent mixing vortex driving the ingredients into the blades. For flour and other dry seed blending, you need a “dry” container, supplied separately as an accessory, but over $100 !! Its blades are a different configuration and keep the fines from broken-down seeds in suspension in the container, while the heavier seeds fall back into the blades. You can, however, make nut butters in the supplied “wet” container using peanuts, almonds, etc..The pulse function is good for “lumpy” salsa and for adding some chunks at the end of a blend for texture. I added some more baked potatoes and roasted cauliflower to the soup after blending to temperature. Then pulsed them to leave some larger chunks in the smooth soup.As with any high speed blender, these units are noisy, but we don’t live in an apartment to have to worry about the noise! We are using the Vitamix every day for healthy fruit and vegetable smoothies and look forward to a long time doing so with the 5 year warranty. Vitamix customer service is reputed to be very good. I expect an even longer life from the unit as the Vitamix is well designed.

Great blenderJust received my Vitamix blender yesterday. Looks like great quality. Crushes ice cubes nicely. My old blender didn’t do so good with that. Makes great smoothies. I typically don’t chop food so I haven’t tried that yet but I expect it do well. Would recommend.
