I got this mainly to cook rice, I was a little worried at first because instruction say rice might be scorched lolol but i didn’t need to.
First things first, do put the pressure weight on before cooking and definitely wait 5 minutes before turning it to release. I recommend using the plastic rice scooper to turn it from the side. I tried to flip it with a stick from above and the steam that shot out with the hot water almost got my hands lol
Secondly, it’s 1 cup water per 1 cup dried rice. Use the cup provided. DO NOT use the finger trick. Im talking to all my asians. It will not work on modern rice cooker. U’ll just end up with a lot of water overflowing lol
Pressure on low.
Timer to 20 minutes (doesn’t matter how many cups you cook, but 6 is max)
It will automatically turn to keep warm if you cook rice.
How to cook white rice is on page 15-16 of the recipe book that comes with it. It used 4 cups in the example, I did 3, works like a charm. Rice is great. No sticking to the bottom at all.
DO wash the metal pot inside. With a littlr bit soap and a none scrub sponge, gently.
DO NOT wash anything else! It’s spot clean only.
There is no off button. When you are done, unplug to turn off.
Everything is dial based, with select, cancel, start, and setting 4 buttons. If rotating knob selection isn’t your thing, there might be a learning curve using it.
Make sure you remove the blue tape on the plastic cup behind the cooker.
do not press down on lid when you try to close it after u cook something. It won’t close if u press down.
The pressure weight is losely fit but it does it’s job, don’t worry if u put it on and it doesn’t look like it’s screwed in.
You might smell a little bit plastic at the beginning of first cook, don’t worry about it, won’t effect the rice at all. In fact the rice comes out great, not even a little bit is sticking to the bottom of the bot.
It’s on sale right now so I do recommend it

It’s just me ~ I don’t like the taste of the food cooked in this pot. It might be good for you if you can enjoy the taste. It’s very easy to use!

The main problem of this product is its Non-stick pot.

This particular model worked well in cooking rice. However, it is a toned down version of the other Cuckoos. NOTE: The multi-cookers, especially this model, still produce less pressure than Cuckoo’s top-tier pressure rice cookers.
This model is trying to appeal to the Western market and be a direct competitor to InstaPot with its feature set and cheaper price point.
Here are some of the major differences compared to the other models:
1) The pressure capacity. The other Cuckoo multi cookers boast a pressure capacity of 25 PSI or 178 kpa (the industry standard for pressure cookers, it seems). The rice cookers go even higher at 29 PSI or 200 kpa. This model only goes up to 12 PSI or 80 kpa which is comparable to InstaPot (this makes it easier to adapt InstaPot recipes to this model).
2) On the other models, people were complaining about how cook times calculated the TOTAL time with the preheating time included. This model does not include the preheating time which is supposed to be more in line with InstaPot recipe directions.
3) Some of the cooking modes (beans, chili) on this model seem really geared towards the western market.
4) This model was manufactured in China and NOT South Korea like the other models so the materials and quality probably won’t be as top-tier. However, the appliance seemed relatively heavy duty and has a very nice locking mechanism.
In summary, this multi-cooker model seems comparable to InstaPot and the sale price was quite attractive. So it is a good value for what it is and doesn’t have as big of a learning curve.

Works ok once you understand it’s non-intuitive operation

It works well for making stew, rice, and steaming. The problem with it is that when there is no liquid left, there is no automatic shut off or sound warning. The heating is constantly on but the system can’t pressure. This has a risk of burning food. In an instant pot, the system shuts off and there’s an indication of food burning. For this reason, I wouldn’t use this system or leave it on keep warm if there is nobody around. It makes it more difficult to pre-make meals in this case. I just realized this issue recently, had I known earlier, I would have returned it.
