I owned two slicers for years that I thought they were doing an ok job.
Then, I ordered this KWS slicer. It’s wonderful.
After researching many hours and reading through the comments, I decided to go with a company I had heard of and they had a video!
The video showing how to take the machine apart to clean it is what sold me. They didn’t say it was easy, they showed you. That says volume’s about their product.
I ordered the version with the black teflon blade.
I tried this on two top round roast beef that had been sous vide and refrigerated.
This machine laughed! It can cut it tissue thin or thick. The black blade is very sharp.
It was extremely easy to use and the best part…clean up is pretty easy.
You do need a phillips screwdriver to remove three screws to take the blade off.
That wasn’t a big deal to me and I knew this again, because it was on their video.
I noticed in many videos they always show them cutting frozen meat. I was so curious how this was going to cut my refrigerated meat. Ease…cut it with ease.
Mine unit is brand new so I can’t say anything about longevity.
I can say, it’s a great slicer. Compared to my other two, I just regret I didn’t get this sooner.
It’s built well, and user friendly. I would probably recommend the slicing gloves be worn when you take the blade off. Very happy with this purchase. Highly recommend.

Overall the slicer has worked great. So far I have used it for slicing home smoked roast beef, turkey breast, and bacon. The blade is plenty sharp and the built in sharpener works well to keep it that way. I had chilled all the meats before slicing and it worked great. Would easily slice down to .25-.5 mm without shredding the meats. It’s not bad to clean though I do think the screws that hold the blade would be better off as Allen or torque screws instead of Phillips. I haven’t stripped them yet but Phillips is not ideal for repeated loosening and tightening in my opinion. My only other gripe is that it has a tendency to throw some of the bark or other pieces that break off during slicing. It’s perfectly manageable if you keep the area in line with the blade on your counter clear. But expect it to throw a few chunks of skin or bark during your slicing.

So, I’ve worked in a lot pf restaurants, and I’ve had experience with a lot of machines. I can tell you that this machine is virtually identical in quality and construction to the more “value” models that restaurants buy when it’s a limited use prroduct. In other words, a full service deli would want a better machine, but they’d be up around a grand. Machines like this generally go for between $500 and $650.
PROS: This unit can cut through most anything you throw at it, though very large frozen meats will take some time. I have cut frozen beef tenderloin and frozen pork loins with it, and it did fine. Because this is a true upgrade from a home model, you’ll notice some differences. It’s heavy. The jaws lock in certain positions because they are lined with sharp spikes and you can’t have them floping around. The slide arm will not move as smoothly as a Hobart, but you’re paying half the price for a unit that will do all the same stuff, maybe a little slower. I’ve owned two of the “home” slicers, and they don’t begin to compare.
CONS: It’s not a $1500 Hobart like you might see at the grocery store. It won’t run on automatic, and it won’t be as fast with sticky cheeses. It will slice exceedingly thin slices, but you have to be careful that they don’t get pulled back into the blade. Home units ARE designed to be easier to clean. Many of the attributes that make them easy to clean also reduce their effetiveness against big meats, particularly when frozen. The disassembly isn’t bad, but there is no special tool for blade removal. I would invest in some cutting gloves. Probably get one of the chain-mail type. You’ll have to loosen the big knobs, remove the blade conver, and then unscrew and remove the blade if you want to get everything clean. This is true of all commercial slicers. The whole process, with cleaning takes about 5 minutes.
Conclusion: If you want to slice a little meat or cheese here and there, you are probably better off with a smaller home model. They are light, easy to clean, and can do a great job on small tasks. But if you want to cut frozen meats, (necessary to get the thin slices necessary for Banh Mi and other asian dishes), and you have been frustrated by the limitations of the little ones, this is a great buy. Dollar for dollar, you won’t get this much machine for this price anywhere else that I’ve seen. Their website is hard to find, because it’s really for Asian markets, but it’s there if you look. This company makes BIG machines for heavy industrial food production. (Tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars). If I were opening a restaurant, I might spend a little more. But for someone who butchers meat and finds uses for the slicer 2 or 3 times a week, I couldn’t be happier.

Bought this slicer for homemade lonzino. Where this dry aged pork loin stopped the blade of lesser machines, this KWS 320 watt sliced through the meat like butter.

I have been looking at a deli slicer for a long time and finally bought one. It is very easy to use and slices like a dream. It isn’t the easiest to clean but it is not super hard either. Make sure you use cut resistant gloves when handling the slicing blade.

I just unpacked and used this today to slice up a ham and my first impression is that this slicer is great. I’ve used other slicers including some low cost ones. Based on today’s experience, you get what you pay for and I believe this is a top quality product that’s worth the money. I sliced ham in various thicknesses and it did not even slow down. It’s easy to take apart and clean too. I used cut proof gloves and am glad that I did. The blade is really sharp. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality slicer. As a side note, it comes almost completely put together and is well packaged.
