Powerful little thing.I don’t use a hand held mixer often but when I do I like for it to get the job done quickly without too much hassle. This does a great job mixing. The only nuance I need to adjust to is the different sized attachment holes. In my pic, you can one is larger than the other. This isn’t a deal breaker because it does a good job. Just something my old one didn’t require of me.

Works the exact same way as the more expensive hand mixers. Why would one wish to pay more for a product the performs exactly as one that is sold at a higher price? This Black & Decker mixer is lightweight to hold yet has all of the mixing power that I require from a hand-mixer. The fact that it was one of the least expensive was a bonus.

A bit loud but effectiveI wasted money on cheap mixers a few times. I was scared this time I would make the same mistake again but this thing seems pretty good despite not costing a fortune, yay!My main use of mixers is to whip up eggwhites and whipping cream. My last couple mixers failed miserably at that. I’d be holding them in the bowl for five or ten minutes, hand getting sore, and no volume. This thing, wow, it whips HARD, giving stiff peaks in maybe two or three minutes. No more waiting forever wondering ‘Is this as good as it’s gonna get?’, what a relief! It is a little loud, and believe me, I’m fussy on that factor. As an autistic with stress issues I often find loud noises raise my blood pressure and get me anxious. Vacuums and such, ugh, awful. But this isn’t that bad. Its sound is not very high pitched, which I believe is what I find stressful in a loud noise. This is more just a loud whoosh like a fan or air conditioner blowing a lot of air. My cats don’t panic either. So if you’re sensitive to noise, it might not be a problem for you either. As for sensitivities to chemicals and odors, I did find it had a bit of nasty plastic stink at first, I think from the cord. But a month out on the porch aired it out fine. The cord is plenty long enough, unless your kitchen is laid out extremely oddly. I am glad I didn’t get a cordless because I think this will have a longer life. Adding a battery is just adding one more thing that can break down.Overall I can’t think of a single significant flaw. Happy I chose this one!

It is a lightweight mixerI have always loved my black & decker products. So when my mixer died I bought another. This one, lightweight. I was impressed except for the beaters. There are 2 pairs, neither are made strong enough to use unless you’re beating eggs or whipping cream.Unfortunately, you can’t even beat mashed potatoes for 2. Disappointed with that.

Too fast on low speed.Need to make sure you know this starts off fast, will make a mess if you are not careful.

one worked great – the other not as muchI bought two of these B&D hand mixers – one was supposed to be a gift. One worked great. The other had an issue with the power settings. The lowest and highest speeds worked fine, but those in the middle just shut the mixer off. Also, the beater blades are pretty thin (much thinner than on my old Sunbeam that finally died after 30+ years), but they do seem to work fine.

Good Mixer For The PriceI needed a new hand mixer so I settled on this one because I didn’t want to spend a lot on it when I also have an appropriate stand mixer for things like dough. I would never attempt to make higher gluten doughs with a hand mixer so I can’t speak on how well it would do on that. Over all it’s a good buy for the price. What really got me to settle on this one is the fact that it is also comes with two whisk attachments. I’m not sure why, but most don’t. The whisks are very important so I wanted to make sure I got one that had them. Another great thing about it is it will rest on the bowl. My old hand mixer didn’t so this so I like that. However, it is the heaviest hand mixer I’ve ever had which is why I assume they made it to where it can rest on the bowl. That said, if you are very weak or have something like arthritis I would pass on this mixer. I already knew at this price point the slow setting probably wouldn’t be slow enough to not going stuff everywhere. My old one was the same way. Ive actually never had one that doesn’t do this. I remedy this by gently stirring the contents with the mixer turned off before I switch it on. If that is a deal breaker for you I would pass on this one, but overall I am pleased with it.
