Makes a Thick ShakeThe low setting on my old shake maker hadn’t worked for a while, which was making it difficult to get the level of thickness I desired. That hasn’t been an issue with the new Hamilton Beach. The first few shakes I’ve made on it have been the thickets I’ve had in a while

Love it!My protein shakes come so much smoother now and well blended. I absolutely love this product..

Needs an extra cup!Product works just fine and looks nice, but the metal cup is a unique size and volume so you cannot use cups from other manufacturers. There needs to be an option to order an extra cup for quick sequential processing and for cleaning.

ExpectationsBe very mindful of your own expectations. I find this product to simply be okay. If you are whipping up soft-serve ice cream with some syrup, then this will likely work just fine. Otherwise, with scoops of ice cream, milk, choc, and some m&m’s…this mixer really bogs down and overheats. I did not expect this thing to do any work on the m&m’s since it is not a chopping blade. The disappointment is that it also takes far longer to use for a thick shake. I should’ve simply stuck to my tried and true method of using a hand blender. Unfortunately I really wanted to like this gadget much more than I do.

Room for improvementThis device is very simple, and seems sturdy, and for all I know maybe this is similar to those used in malt shops in the 50s. I don’t know. But it’s not perfect. It took a few tries before I was able to make a semi-normal milkshake. Had to watch a few videos, try different ingredient quantities, and really move the cup all around while it was mixing. You certainly can’t just put the ingredients in the cup and turn it on. Also there is a serious flaw in the design. The mixing shaft cannot be removed for cleaning!! It’s like, seriously…WHAT?!?!? Who the heck thought that made sense?

Great durabilityI love the design. I like to make a frappe and milk foam for cold brew coffee.

Beat upI ordered this product as a gift & the box came in terrible shape. I opened it up to check the product & the interior box was also in poor shape. No major flaws, a few little scratches, but it looks used and was not sold as such.

Durability concernsI have used this to make maybe 10 milk shakes. When making the last milk shake it smelled like the motor was burning. Stayed tuned this product may be going back.

They really don’t make them like they used to 🙁I don’t usually write reviews, but I ended up returning this product because of the weak motor. You’ll notice key differences between home and commercial mixers like these. I won’t say much, but I know it’s not natural for either one to have a prominent burning smell. I ended up buying a more expensive Waring commercial mixer, and I’m excited to write a review for it.
