Head & Shoulder Above KitchenaidCompared to the overrated, overpriced and prop65 carcinogen filled Kitchen-aid mixers and its line of accessories, it is a far superior unit in terms of weight, features, construction and versatility.(1) Lighter than competition.(2) Reasonably compact.(3) Twice power as the overrated and overpriced Kitchenaid’s mixers.(4) Beautiful stainless steel bowl with handle. Kitchenaid charges even for the bowls that feature a handle and theirs is constructed from a dreadful aluminum alloy subject to rust and causing long term health issues. In other words, Kitchenaid’s default design is deliberately made with a fault and you have to pay more to get something functional.(5) 1 of the 3 attachments (the whisk) is entirely made of stainless steel and works to perfection. The other two attachments (flat beater and spiral dough mixer) which are not stainless steel can be replaced from third party brands. While the two I’ve tried don’t quite cover the bowl, they do fit the mechanism and make for an admirable, if not perfect stainless steel replacements. Search for ITEM MODEL # RZ-MIXERS-01 and ASIN: B093T1SL6N. I wish Hamilton Beach manufactured these parts in stainless steel as well, not with a coating . This is the reason for 3 star instead of 5.(6) The front connection allows for versatile attachment options, the most useful of which is a 100% stainless steel Hamilton Beach meat grinder/sausage maker. You will be pressed to find a 100% stainless meat grinder/sausage maker attachment. Every electric model has terrible reviews of industrial oil from motor seeping into the food. Even though I am not a meat eater, a meat grinder attachment has many non-meat uses. The dreadful Kitchenaid’s meat grinder attachment has swapped the tried and tested stainless steel for a nasty aluminum metal alloy that forms dust, rust and endangers user’s health, also not dishwasher safe.(6) The other attachments include pasta maker set and chopper/shredder. Overall these setups have performance issues and although the concept might create an impression that you will save space by buying the mixer and attachments instead of individual machines for each task, in the end you end up with a pile of add ons with no storage solution. The slicer/shredder add on by Hamilton Beach feature plastic. Not a good material when food is exposed to force and high friction. Overtime, it will dent, scratch and introduce micro plastic into the food. Also, the process is not perfect. It should have been made entirely from stainless steel and more tasks than just slicing and shredding. Although I haven’t specifically tried the Hamilton Beach models, the common issue with similar models is that they are not back sealed. The food will move backwards, often into the mixer itself or get stock in places that make cleaning a nightmare.(7) The 3 pasta roller cutter add ons by Hamilton Beach work only with wheat based flours that include egg. It would be very hard to get a dough that can be processed through the cutters with non-wheat flours or without egg as an ingredient due to many differences and sticking issues. I wish they would come up with a tubular press mechanism that would extrude noodle/pasta made entirely from stainless steel. Those Italian style pasta cutters are a pain to use, have limited application in terms of extrusion and dough types and are difficult to clean. The idea of using a mixer as a base for many kitchen appliance is good but it is badly implemented. I like to see an updated product line that offers storage solution for all attachments made from premium foodgrade stainless steel and increased versatility in the range of tasks and quality of their performance.

Best gift ever! Not sure what dimwit suggested a star rating for ‘suction power’ for an electric countertop mixer…That said, my wife and I have been together for over 2-1/2 decades, she has always talked about getting one of these.Last Christmas I went ahead and got it for her. Guys, usually an appliance isn’t the best gift for a woman, in this case it was an out of the ball park hit.In addition to her being totally delighted to finally have one, now I get freshly baked home made scones and things. Why didn’t I take the subtle hint a couple decades sooner??? Hindsight is always 20/20 as they say…

Good mixer for a good priceEasy to use, not really huge like some other ones. Good suction cups on the bottom to hold it still and quality seems pretty good! Used it for brownies and mashed potatoes, did really well

Best Stand MixerThis mixer is Easy to operate, Mixes well, Nice looking, and Simple to assemble and clean. I like the strength of the motor for kneading bread dough. I’ve made four loaves so far and it performed wonderfully. I’ve also made oatmeal chip cookies and that also worked well. Buy this machine. You’ll love it!

Awesome the price was reasonableThe suction is good it doesn’t walk all over your counter. Clean up is great. So easy to use. I love the splatter shield and the way you lock the mixing bowl

Should this replace my heavy Kitchen Aid?I”m just getting too old to lift my long-time kitchen friend, my Kitchen Aid mixer. I have been testing out less expensive or smaller stand mixers, trying to find the perfect solution, so I was excited to try out this Hamilton Beach. It’s reassuring when you see a trusted name. This is a lot smaller and lighter than my Kitchen Aid, but doesn’t feel cheap like so many of the Chinese brands. However, I don’t find it particularly easy to use. For one thing, it has a very high bowl. I gave up pretty quickly trying to add ingredients using the plastic cover. Too many ended up outside rather than inside the bowl! Even with the cover removed, it was necessary to lift the mixer head in order to really get inside the bowl and scrape down the sides. The accessories are pretty good quality. Some other unrecognizable brands have accessories that don’t look as if they will last long, so that is reassuring, but I’m still wavering about whether the difficulty in using this very high narrow bowl will prove to be such a nuisance that I’ll turn to my old hand mixer rather than getting out the stand mixer! I try to convince myself that I’m past the point of making three recipes of stollen at a time. No more turning out 100 dozen cookies each Christmas! COVID interrupted out usual holiday traditions, and we may never again have those huge family gatherings now that even the grandchildren are adults with their own families and had a year of being forced to establish their own traditions. So I’ll probably be making smaller recipes, and for that, this mixer is fine. To sum up, the quality of the mixer itself, along with the bowl and accessories, seems good. I feel secure that the motor will keep on humming away for the duration. It’s attractive, even sleek looking if you want to keep it out on your counter, and easy to clean. It mixes the ingredients well. I won’t be adding extra attachments, but the possibility is there if you want to do that.

Eggcellent 5qt mixer with attachment hub support!hamilton beach professional all metal stand mixerEGGcellent 5qt mixer with attachment hub support! The Hamilton Beach Professional All-Metal Stand Mixer is everything I was looking for from a stand mixer – compact size to save counterspace, metal bowl with spill guard, speed settings, and most importantly – support for attachment hub accessories! While 5qt may very well be too small for a lot of people, its just right for my purposes. Build quality is above expectations. This mixer feels and performs like a dream. The entire mixer is very stable, with good weight distribution and suction cups on the base to further aid in keeping it from moving around your counter.Inside the box you get a whisk, beater, dough hook, spill guard and a stainless steel bowl with convenient handle. The spill guard is a great thing to have to keep kitchen messes to a minimum while baking. The attachments are all made from durable metal not plastic. The mixer uses planetary motion which works really well. The stand mixer tilts up for more convenient use. There is support for attachment hub accessories to attach to the front above the bowl. It doesn’t include any of these, but they’re all pretty affordable from what I’ve seen so far. This is a great way to further add to the wide range of functionality and features this mixer has to offer. BOTTOM LINE: High quality kitchen appliance for those of us who don’t need a large mixer, with plenty of power to handle all of your needs.

Best Mixer I’ve OwnedThis is one of those kitchen appliances that stays on the counter never gets put away.Lots (and lots) of bread has been made using this mixer. Probably four dozen loaves at this point. It is surprisingly easy to use, and equally easy to clean. In addition to bread, I’ve used it for making pasta. Correlated to that is being able to attach device, separately purchased, for rolling and slicing the dough into spaghetti and other pastas.I’ve also made whipped cream with this, using the whisk that is included. That’s only when I need a lot of whipped cream, as I normally would use a handheld device when just making two or three servings. However, the Hamilton Beach mixer is handy when I have needed to make it for 10 servings.I have 12 speeds to choose from, but mostly I only use two or three.–Brockeim

Unique among home mixersHamilton Beach has been hitting it out of the park this year. They have several appliances which best everything on the market, and at very reasonable prices. This mixer is one such product and, I believe, deserves 6 stars, if 5 stars are awarded to products which are just OK.I bought my first mixer just under 10 years ago, and somewhere on this site is a novela about that experience. In short, Amazon had the iconic mixer on special for prime day and I was not sure I needed one. I had always done everything by hand. In the course of 24 hours I reads dozens of reviews, watched as many videos, and decided to buy one, but not the one Amazon had on special. To this day, after hundreds of hours of use, and testing a dozen or more mixers, I have come to the conclusion that the one everyone wants is not better than average, probably worse. To cut to the chase, at that time I bought a Cuisinart because it was twice as powerful, had a warranty 7 times as long, and was all metal unlike the competition.About a year and a half ago my daughter moved back home to take a position working under some creative young chefs who had already acquired a reputation and were opening a restaurant in Honolulu. She moved across the country leaving near everything behind. She has been trapped here, with us, under quarrantine since and I am using her experience and expertise to upgrade my kitchen. I run everything by her. In this instance I actually had more experience because I have been baking since I was a kid. I am also outfitting her apartment as I upgrade my kitchen. To get back to the mixer, I also said in another review that a lot of them mix the dough into a ball which then gets slammed against the side of the bowl, not actually kneading. This mixer has what they call planetary action. In stead of mixing what is in the center of the bowl, it goes around the sides, which makes a huge difference.Yesterday I started some bread, and while I generally play it by ear at this point, I have made some of the best when I use Nancy Silverton’s book, the Breads of La Brea Bakery. It has demonstrated why using weight instead of volume is the way to go. When I use her book i follow the recipe precisely, and yesterday did, except for one step. {Note: Nancy Silverton says they use a mixer for near everything at the bakery) The instructions said to knead with a dough hook for 4-5 minutes, periodically scraping down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. That’s the part I missed. with this mixer I did not need to. It got everything off the side and actually kneaded the doughIt is much cleaner, more efficient, and just works a lot better than most home mixers. My daughter said that this is what the large commercial mixers do. I have never seen it before in a home mixers. The Hamilton Beach is compact, smaller than most of the mixers I have tried, but it has the same capacity as the KitchenAid, and almost twice the power. The build quality is really nice. The exterior is all metal, and there is real attention to detail. The cap on the power hub is hinged, and locks. It takes attachments made for Hamilton Beach as well as for KitchenAid. That makes a lot of things available to you as options. The “planetary action,” The mixer moves around the sides rather than sitting in the center, is unique among home mixers. As far as I know, until now it was available only in large commercial mixers (and my daughter said that every restaurant she has worked in had a mixer which did this}.It is fairly compact, taking up less counter space than most. The splatter shield is cleverly designed. The section with the opening is removable, leaving an arc which fits around the mixer stem, so you can easily add or remove attachments, and do not have to worry about breaking or losing the tabs which hold it in place (which explains why one of my mixers is in the cupboard). The above are the main points, and what I feel differentiates this mixer from other available home mixers. The bottom line is that it works better, is more efficient, is better built, and has a longer warranty (3 times as long). If I were buying a stand mixer now, this is the one I would choose, and if it does not match you kitchen, get a cover….but, really it goes with everything well enough, and to my mind that is not the most important thing to consider when you are purchasing an appliance. What matters to me is how well it works and how well built it is, how long the warranty isd, and the Hamilton Beach passes all of those tests.
A reader, a crafter, a gardener and cook –
handles heavy loads nicely (like Indian bread dough)I wanted a mixer that could handle a heavy load without overheating or burning out the motor. This one is perfect. On top of the usual stuff you’d use a stand mixer for, I make a ton of various Indian bread dough’s and this mixer has been up to the task.I’ve had no problem with it mixing all the flour and ingredients evenly in the dough. You do not need to scrap the bowl edges constantly to ensure everything gets incorporated. I’ve only had to scrape the bowl when making very hard dough’s.Removing the bowl/beaters is easy, hit a switch and tilts up so you can remove them easily. The splash guard is very good, full bowl coverage no mess. The bowl is heavy enough to stay still when you’re using it, it doesn’t move around the counter. It’s easy to wash and goes in the dishwasher. All three attachments works great and you can get more attachments. I have not gotten any yet but booklet says this machine power hub is compatible with Hamilton beach and KitchenAid.The motor is strong enough for all that I’ve tried so far and maintains a nice constant speed even with the thickest ingredient. There’s 12 speeds which is plenty for me.I make a lot of Indian breads…chaapati’s, roti, pakora, etc. and I’ve not had any problems doing so with this machine, even the thickest, heaviest, dough is mixed well and my resulting breads come out really fluffy.I’m really happy with this, can’t wait to get some attachments for it, too.
