Broiling is AwesomeNever thought I’d say I’m in love with an oven. As someone who has used countertop ovens nearly their entire life, I was blown away by how awesome this oven is. It’s strong, durable and fast heating. It can hold at least 24 full sized cupcakes if using both wire racks. If you’re upgrading from a weaker smaller countertop oven, be wary of using parchments in this oven, especially sandwich wrappers you get from fast food places. Those wrappers are huge fire hazards. All of the cooking settings on this oven are great. I especially like the broil. It only takes meats like chicken breasts 5 minutes to go from raw to cooked. It also crisps sausages, ham and even ground meats. No skillet I’ve seen can get hot enough to cook a pound of ground meat in 5 minutes. The thermometer is also really handy, especially for thicker meats. The holder is magnetic, so you don’t ever have to wonder where the thermometer is when you need it. It’s oven safe and reads the temperature of your roasts while you’re cooking, eliminating all guess work. The bake setting cooks cupcakes perfectly. The vast capabilities of this oven have encouraged me to get back into cooking. It cooks fast; I’ll have a way to preserve my own fresh herbs or even get into jerky-making; you can cook roasts and the vegetables at the same time.Only downsides I can currently see is that while most of the oven is easy to clean, the fan is a potential problem. If anything goes past the fan grate, there doesn’t seem to be a way to clean it.This oven is a huge upgrade to what I had and I look forward to seeing what all I can do with it.

A quick GO-TO in the kitchen without much fuss, EXCEPT…An easy quick GO-TO in the kitchen without much fuss, EXCEPT… I believe the smaller Ninja may be better overall related to it’s heating elements.PROsIt’s a perfect kitchen gadget for quick meals that come up fast. The Pre-Heat is only 90 seconds fully automated & turns itself off once complete. So easy I’d say even safe for children to useCONsIt has the same amount of heating elements as the smaller Ninja, a total of 4 rated for 1800 watts. That works out to 450 watts per element. 2 up & 2 down. Due to it’s larger size food items like toast take longer than a traditional toaster. Not sure about the 10 in 1, 13 in 1 or what ever it is? This is a reference to redundancy, keep in ind I’ve only owned this about 3 weeks but have yet to figure out the difference between Air-Fry vs. Air-Roast to include several others. Various selections turn on either the Bottom heating elements, the Top heating elements, or both. The build in cyclonic fan in the back kicks on or stays off depending on which setting you select.I imagine it would be perfect if the Ninja had 3 elements both Top & Bottom, but due to it already pulling 1800 watts of Full Power if all burners are turned on, some homes may trip a Breaker on the Breaker Box.In short I like this machine, but I believe Ninja has pushed the limitations of its capability due to size. I believe the smaller All-In-One Smart Oven will live FULLY Up to performance. It is a good machine & i am happy with it.Like a Porsche 911 Turbo sharing the same engine with the SUV,

Best thing sing since sliced bread!I’ve had mine just over 6 months now and absolutely love it! I haven’t used my regular oven since. I’ve cooked all kinds of foods and not been disappointed at all. Even for baking cakes, pies or loaves of bread. Just have to adjust the temp down down a bit and it cooks faster. I use it cooking dinner almost every evening. Before I got it, I thought air fryers would be difficult to set. This Ninja is super easy and straight forward. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it at all. I’ll be getting another one for our motorhome. Looks nice on my countertop also.

Pretty Darn Good !I love traditional cooking in a well equipped kitchen, but, even during Iowa winters, rain, sleet, snow, I will grill outside. I am a meat eater. I have been for all of my 74+ years. I grill for flavor, but also for retained fat reduction. Presently, my outdoor grill is the quite satisfying “ASMOKE 300”–“Portable.” Frankly it has amazed me. It is my first “pellet” fired grill and has worked flawlessly. I offer that information, since one might rationally ask, : Then why a Ninja Foodi Combination Air Fryer/Convection Oven?” Well, I was not kind to the safety of my body and have walked away from some racing crashes that I likely should not have survived. And, genetics are not helping. Thus, I have extraordinary fatigue; so fatigued, in fact, that at 6′ tall and 185 pounds, over around 5 months, I lost weight down to 147 pounds–what I weighed as a High School freshman, before my body matured over the following Summer. I was too tired to cook and/or eat. I only eat one time a day–an evening meal, but, no daytime snacking. I drink nearly a gallon of water a day. I did gain back a healthy amount of weight, but muscle mass is absent.NOW, on topic: I paid for the probe thermometer, but it did not arrive; it is allegedly on its way. Getting to CS was quick and the rep was responsive–no argument. I have a remote probe system that will suffice as I wait. (The ASMOKE has an included probe and it is very accurate.) I expect the same from Ninja. The three booklets that are included are excellent with clear and well organized instructions; 2 of the documents are repetitive, but that is a good thing. The third has very interesting recipes and I plan to try some. And, again, the recipes include use instructions. The control buttons are crisp and logical. The pre-progamming does not seem to be an interference. However, some procedures turn out to require “lying” to the” Foodi.” Bread and butter were never on the dinner table as an essential. I only eat “Brownberry Whole Wheat,: “and not, daily. It does well in the refrigerator. Thus, if I want toast with eggs, then I have to fool “Foodi.” For 2 slices, I have to tell it 3 slices and choose result at 4. It is a minor inconvenience, and in truth, is a good way to learn its powers and its limitations. I do get nice toast.I have only had the unit for part of a month, so I have not “Wrung it Out.” It should be obvious that I want my meat seared–beef, pork(lots of pork, of course) and chicken, or lamb. If I do not grill, I sear in well seasoned carbon steel, usually with a small amount of avocado oil, or peanut oil. Last night, I used “Foodi” to broil a 1 1/8th” thick, 2″ wide and 6+” inch long pork loin. It had been seasoned and in avocado oil in the “cooler,” I have cooked many of these. Thus, going “manual,” I set the unit on high and set time at 30 minutes. Per instructions, I used roasting pan on sheet pan on wire rack at level 3 (height) and fired it up. I had sprayed high temp cooking oil on the roasting pan, I also sprayed the sheet pan and put trimmed parchment paper between the two pans and placed them on the wire rack. I turned on the power and pushed start. At the “end-beep,” I had a very juicy, fully cooked entree`. However, here is my COMPLAINT: There was no searing of any kind on either surface (I turned it once 1/2 way through. Were this not a premium cut of fine Iowa pork, to get any crust, even a light sear, I would have had to seriously over-cook it for any color. 1800 watts is probably marginal to actually sear. Next time, I will lie to “Foodi” again and try putting the rack and pans at level 4, but I doubt I will enjoy the clean-up. The more sensible option is to rub a bit of “Kitchen Bouquet” on the top when I flip the loin.NOW, on clean-up. Even with spray and no burned oil, cleaning the two black pans (roast and sheet) with only a quality detergent, reasonably hot water (I hand wash) and a sponge is unrealistic. The truth is, to get those 2 pans very clean, it took 2 washings and moderately vigorous use of the “green, non-woven abrasive) surface” of a fresh , usual green and yellow sponge. Having taken care to give those pans every chance of being “sponge-cleaned,” I had to really work at those stubborn, ceramic-coated pans to get them clean to my standards. It angers me. But, I prefer the effort to potentially dangerous “non-stick” coatings. If I can do a macaroni and cheese casserole to end up with a nice crust, I will probably return to upgrade the stars if possible. Criticisms and suggestions welcomed !!

Not worth it if you want an air fryer.Ive always preferred toaster ovens to normal ovens. Its faster, cheaper, and fits the needs for my household. It came time to upgrade, and i also wanted the versatility of an air fryer, so i snagged up this bad boy, despite the hefty price tag for a toaster oven.Was. Not. Worth. It.Pros: It preheats fast. It cooks fast. It has a clean and easy to use interface. No real complaints in that department. I bake, I broil, i airfy. All work great. In fact, i really only have one con.Con: Cleaning. Not worth it. This thing has WAY to many crevasses and corners. Cleaning is a MASSIVE pain in the ass. I cook a lot of chicken wings, so splatter gets EVERYWHERE. No matter how proactive you are, this thing becomes a mess. The problems? The heating coils are sharp and in the way, have nicked myself several times. There is no way to clean behind the fan guard, where a lot of grease WILL accumulate. Another problem i have is, even after deep cleaning, i will get grease leaks around the legs. Where is this coming from? I cant tell you. I have disassembled it as best i can to the point where i would need to take apart the heating elements to go further, and i STILL cant find the source of the grease leaks. So now, despite having deep cleaned it several times, when i cook i get an excessive amount of smoke. It cooks well, but it seriously is not worth the hassle. Such a shame. If you are in the market for an air fryer, stick to the basket style.

The truth? Let me tell you!To start with let me begin with things I like about and then move on to those things that are improvement and lastly one that is poor.Shipping box and delivery from Amazon.com LLC. was as typical of PRIME with one issue with missing delivery by a day and having no notifications as normal fulfillment goes with Amazon.Oven was shipped in a sturdy and protective box and packed well.Oven documentation was adequate but a little confusing with the “2nd level” feature and how the thermometer works in conjunction with the different cooking methods. This was resolved after acclimating with the learning curve but was not difficult, simply different processes.Quality is outstanding and can feel the thickness of the stainless, the steal, glass, and rubber seals for the door, the tactile feedback and “button” feels solid, the display is bright and good colors. There is a review that is popular with noise complaints and light, etc. I will address these:Noise: The feature of this oven is it’s “True Surround Convection” trademarked technology. (while it sounds gimmicky indeed) it truly is impressive and that user clearly was uneducated from the manual as it clearly states there are 4 different modes, Max, High, Med, Low that the rear heated elements are circulating that hot air. If you want fast as possible and crispy as your vivid imagination can create or desire than you will hear the NINJA – True Surround Convection sound like it is swirling that hot air to bring your tastebuds to heights you enjoy and that will be obviously loud not as in vacuum loud, hair dryer loud but circulating air in a XL cavity loud but not interfering with your music, tv or conversation. If you are concerned about waking up a mouse than use low-med speed as any generic convection countertop oven out there you have used for years; like my old Walmart cheapy Farberware that I used daily but when you compare this Ninja Foodi Air Fryer XL to anything else, you must understand this is like comparing a broom to a vacuum or a base model car to fully loaded and optioned out with everything.Warm up to temperature is less than 90 seconds and gives you a cool tone when preheating has reached temperature.Temperatures while cooking are on par with any high-quality oven, consistent and even.Accessories are good enamel cookware! When you use as directed with the drip tray and roasting tray on the bottom when using the basket to fry in, all messes are virtually non-existent and due to quality in material they are easy to soak up to a few hours for the worst soak in dawn and at end hot water rinse and you’re done.On to another complaint of the popular Negative review is talking about auto light… Nope… This oven has a light, it comes on and goes off automatically.Another was tray on bottom not coming out with top basket, yes, you will have to use two hands to pull out a basket and drip tray at same time or use a piece of foil and lay over door and pull basket. However, I use to hands to drive with, empty trash or whisk in a bowl… Two hands are not a deal breaker and they slide easily and well…THE BAD AND UGLYCustomer Service all outsourced and overseas and barely speak English and lack of any specialty or in-depth training/ knowledge. They might as well have no phone support as this was twice HORRIBLE.If you do get oils and stains on oven interior there is not good coating on the walls, and you must use stronger cleaner as there is no “soaking” for the chassis so the coating they use does not hold and comes off easily with chemicals like easy oven cleaner. For whatever reason engineered WITHOUT REAR FAN SPLASH GUARD; this was STUPID!!! what a mistake!====UPDATE 02/09/2021=====Shark Ninja Warranty?I have used daily since purchase and an element broke (glass) at the top, thought that I was going to have “flack” and must fight.I did not, they asked me to use my phone so they could video with me to see the defect, talked to manager and in seconds they issued me a new oven and gave me a return label PREPAID to them on the defective one.WOW… JUST WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My oven will be here in a few days new in the box and I am excited.. I love all my meals from this oven..

works pretty wellHellThis works very well, I had roasted a whole chicken, Air fried chicken wing, baked a pizza and rooasted vegetables and chinese bbq port all came out great, However, when I wanted to make the crispy wings or make pop corn chicken it does not get crispy enought, but when use the bucket styke air fry it would come out crispy,Also cleaning, both sides and back are easy to clean however, the top part is another story the top of mine air fryer oven is brown for the grease and I try to clean in once or twice of week after I use.

I use this a lot.Being one person, I prefer to use this instead of my large oven. I use oven roast a lot. I cook veggies, meat, and frozen foods in here several times a week. Massively convenient.

Middle of the line performance w/ quality issuesUsed for almost two years. Heating performance is average for an air fryer. Worst part is the labels on the handle for each function has erased away. If you want the labels to last you’d better be using gloves everything you touch it.

Very thoughtful features. Well designed and built. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making this product easy and pleasant to use. It also performs very well. The quartz elements heat up very rapidly, preheating the oven extremely quickly. The rack system and fan allow a lot of flexibility for most types of food prep. On air fry, the fan is somewhat loud. The meat thermometer is a great feature and surprisingly accurate. I used it when making a roast and it performed really well. Never thought I’d prefer this oven instead of a conventional gas oven for making a roast, but I do.The digital display/controls built into the top-mounted door handle is informative and bright. Being closer to eye level means less bending down to read the button labels, and allows the oven to have a somewhat smaller footprint than others that have a control panel to the side of the door. The interior light turns on when the door is opened, but can also be conveniently triggered by a control panel button. Easy to control the temp and cooking mode with the digital controls.I’ve tried 3 different air fryers, and this one was the best by far. Highly recommended. However, Amazon has published all of my positive reviews and rejected every one of my negative reviews, so I am not sure you can rely on the integrity of the review system here.
