Very PleasedWe were looking for a toaster oven that has a modest counter footprint, is easy to use and works well for basic needs. Toaster oven reviews can make your head spin. This model when making toast does pull the rack forward when the door is opened which is a help in removing the toast. Making toast is simple as you set the settings once and you need only push one button in the future to make the toast your way. There is confusion in the reviews about no off switch. You can turn the oven off in either toaster mode or any other mode easily. The only observation in the reviews that may be important is there is no timer for using oven features. You do need an external timer such as a cheap kitchen counter timer, using timer on your smart phone, etc. We do not find this to be a big deal.We are very pleased and recommend this toaster oven.

The Goldilocks of Toaster OvensMy more expensive, super fancy Krups toaster oven recently kicked the bucket after about 4-5 yrs of service, and it was time to replace it. While my Krups was a good toaster oven (before it died), it took up a lot of space on the counter, it was expensive to buy, and frankly it had a lot of features (convection) and interior space that I just don’t use and don’t think are necessary in a toaster oven. So when I shopped for a replacement, I decided to go downmarket a bit.Problem is, the toaster oven market is bifurcated towards two extremes and IMO neither is ideal. On the low end, are super cheap pieces of junk. On the higher end, are expensive behemoths that take up all your counter space and have a lot of features that most of us will never use. Now I’ll admit, for someone who lives in say a small apartment and doesn’t have a regular oven, the second type may make sense. But I live in a house with a regular kitchen and I have a regular oven and a cooktop, as well as a gas grill and a big green egg. What this means is, I’m not going to be roasting a whole chicken or searing steaks or baking any cakes or cooking thanksgiving dinner in my toaster oven. What I mostly use my toaster oven for is 1) toast! and 2) heating up things like leftover pizza or empanadas or really anything else that will get soggy in the microwave but you don’t want to wait for the regular oven to preheat when alls you want to do is heat up a single item, and 3) odd things like maybe an open faced sammich or something. So really, anything small that you want to heat up quickly yet still have it be crispy. I have a hunch a large percent of toaster oven owners use them pretty much like I do and want a quality product but don’t want a $300 large convection toaster oven taking up all our counter space, but also don’t want to trust the $20 hunk of junk that looks like it will die in 2 weeks and can’t toast evenly. This toaster oven is a good choice because:1) It’s simple – toast, bagel, bake, broil. The analog controls are simple to use, and unlike a digital keypad it “remembers” what your last setting was (for say toast darkness or oven temp), which you are likely to use repeatedly. Some reviews complained the controls are hard to read, and I don’t find this to be a problem although I do have good near-sight vision. The crum tray is easy to remove, clean, and replace.2) It works – nice even toasting. Heats up quickly for reheating items. I was surprised at how light it was out of the box, but it works well so this doesn’t appear to be a problem.3) It’s a fair price – way cheaper than the expensive convection ovens, but not so cheap as to be garbage4) Small footprint – doesn’t take up much counter space yet still big enough for everything I want a toaster oven to do. Honestly if something can’t fit in this thing I have no problem firing up the regular oven. Now, there seem to be 2 basic complaints on this model and I don’t find either to be a problem:1) No timer – who cares? I’m only using it for toast (which does shut off when it reaches desired darkness) and to heat up small stuff that only takes a few minutes, I can hang around and keep an eye on it. Again, this seems like more of a problem for people who want to bake a cake or something and I don’t know why you’d want to use a toaster oven to do that.2) A lot of people complain that the toast comes out too dark – I’m puzzled by these complaints as I find it extremely easy to set the toaster to desired darkness. The medium setting comes out pretty much what I’d expect medium toast to be, and more importantly you have infinite adjustability with the analog controls so it shouldn’t take you much experimenting to figure out how you want it. One person even complained they had this for over a month and couldn’t get toast that wasn’t burned – I’d say this person either got a defective unit, or they are severely challenged when it comes to the operation of small electronics and/or employing the trial and error method.Overall – there should be more toaster ovens in this segment. If you don’t routinely roast whole prime ribs or do hard core baking in your toaster oven, this should suit your needs well.Edit: Well, 3 1/2 years later, one of the coils was coming apart and my girlfriend threw the Cuisinart away because she claims that’s a fire hazard! Replacement is a Kitchenaid unit purchased from Costco (which also doesn’t have a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles, although it’s a bit bigger). The new Kitchenaid definitely does not toast as quickly or evenly as the trusty old Cuisinart! I wish we’d just bought another as it’s replacement. 3 1/2 years isn’t too bad for a toaster oven that was used fairly often and not really taken care of, rarely cleaned etc. I stand by my old 5 star review.

Last one caught fire, so never leave unattended. Unplug when not in use.My last Cuisinart (same model) caught fire, so I disposed of it and searched far and wide for another small toaster oven the same approximate size since I only have a small space for it. All the reviews I read of similar sized oven had issues with fires, electrical shorts, ovens never turning off or turning on by themselves and shattered glass doors. Yikes. In the end I gave up and bought this model again hoping I get a good one. Even though there is a class action suit about this model. I can’t believe they haven’t fixed the issues with this model yet. Other than that, I am used to the controls, the crumb tray is very conveniently placed at the bottom of the unit (actually under) and is easy to clean and it fits perfectly in the space I have for it while cooking enough food for two at a time. It’s actually a great model if I didn’t have to worry about fires. Now, I NEVER leave unattended, even to go to the bathroom. Watch it like a hawk and unplug as soon as you are done so it doesn’t turn itself back on again. I used my last model every night to reheat home made meals and it was great (for a little over a year – before it caught fire for no reason). I never made toast, so can’t report on that.Make sure nothing drips on the heating elements. Use the right tray and rack positions. Clean out the crumb tray regularly. Unplug when not in use. Don’t leave the room even for a minute when it is on. Follow these rules and it will probably work out for you.I also bought a special crisping pan which fits this oven and is a dream to clean. The baking pan they include is not easy to clean at all.The exterior gets VERY hot, so put where you cannot brush against it, and away from pets and kids. There is no interior light, but the rack does pop out a little when you open the door making it easier to take out food. Since my last unit caught fire, I cook and reheat meals at lower temps now. I assume if the door shatters, it will be tempered glass, but I still wear my glasses around this unit. Yes, I am a little scared of it. But at least it is the perfect size and saves me using the big oven except for special occasions.

Choose Pan or RackLove all the features except two!1. Must choose to have either the rack or the pan in the slide-in feature which requires storing one of them out of the oven. Needs re-engineering or stop trying to sell it as a good feature!2. The rack doesn’t pull out far enough automatically, to help with removal of rack/pan/toast. No reduction in burn danger! This appeared to be more pronounced in the description, but was deceptive…One reason I ordered this one. Needs re-engineering!

Stays new looking. This toaster oven is the best we’ve ever had. It is easy to clean and, although we’ve had it for many months, still looks like new. I don’t know why. The inside seems to repel stains. It comes with a good-sized cooking tray which also doesn’t stain. Got it because it’s big enough to cook a pie. Very pleased.

GREAT PURCHASE!I researched all the Toaster Ovens in my price range on Amazon. FINALLY, this Cuisinart was the winner.Upon rec’g I read the instruction super carefully as there were reviews of having a fire start and broken glass. Unfortunately those folks, IMO did not read the instructions very carefully. I follow Cuisinart directions to a T and have not had any issue. I toast, I bake … I do not need an air-fryer… so I love this unit and am very happy with it. My daughter has had Cuisinart for years and she never had a problem. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS …. I never leave it plugged it (no big deal) and when in use, I maintain space around it.

Happy Foodies While Happy Travels!Excellent addition to our 5th wheel, (or any home). Love using this to make toast, biscuits, heat up foods, brown garlic bread, bake cookies, frozen meals, small pizzas, etc. We have a microwave in our 5th wheel, but as everyone knows, microwave baking and browning just doesn’t work. This is small enough and light weight enough for traveling. We set it in a box lined with our kitchen towels while in tow to protect it. We purchased the aluminum bakeware that fits this machine and happy we did. Worth every penny.

No timer and hot handleI was really prepared to love this because I just needed a nice and simple toaster oven and not an air fryer like I keep seeing here on Amazon when I search for toaster ovens. However, there is no timer on it unless you use the toast feature. The handle also gets almost too hot to touch. I love the design and the size, but not having a timer is a deal breaker for my household. The only other complaint I have is that you have to bend down a bit to see into it since the front is shorter than it looks in the pictures. If you don’t need a timer and don’t mind a hot handle from time to time then this would be ideal for you.

Exactly what I was looking for! This is the perfect size and type of toaster oven I was looking for. Unfortunately, manual-dial toaster ovens are getting harder and harder to find with every year that passes.PROS1. Attractive, matte-black finish with stainless-steel front. It perfectly matches the stainless-steel large appliances in my kitchen and my black, granite countertops.2. As advertised, it is 11 inches deep and can hold an 11-inch-diameter pizza. I have a set of stainless steel toaster trays that are 7×10 inches, and I am delighted that they easily fit into this toaster oven.3. It comes with a large baking pan, and a recipe book is included in the instruction manual.4. It has the crucial safety features of an automatic shutoff and a cool-touch handle.5. It has a limited 3-year warranty.6. It has classic, manual dials for temperature, method of cooking, and light-to-dark toast setting.CONS1. It does not have a timer built in, unlike my previous toaster oven of this manual type. This is a minor issue for me personally, however, since I have plenty of kitchen timers.2. The thick, insulated electrical cord has a tendency to coil into the back of the toaster oven, which could be a fire hazard. I have temporarily placed the baking pan that comes with this toaster oven between the cord and the back of the toaster oven. I will keep it there until it, hopefully, gradually relaxes and lies flat on the counter. (See photo.)3. The baking pan appears to be made of aluminum rather than stainless steel. This is quite typical for toaster ovens, though, which is why I have previously purchased stainless steel trays separately.
