Forget itFinal Update: Replacement worse. Control panel wouldn’t work at all last night. Only thing that would work was the clock and after that was able to get control panel to cooperate. Only 2nd time using. We give up. Returning it this morning and not replacing. Very disappointed.Update: I sent it back for replacement. Hoping replacement works properly. It turned out cooked meat was one temp on one side and different temp on another side.I don’t have a thermometer to put in there to see if it is the proper temperature. I made roasted garbanzo beans that were done in the correct amount of time so I think that is not the problem. But so far today my turkey meatloaf is going on 2 hours. I’m starting to wonder if the control panel is not showing the proper timing. I guess if I had checked it by a regular clock from the beginning I would know the difference. But this is a little much.I like the size. I’ll finally be able to cook a few things I haven’t been able to. The doors make it quite easy to get into. I ran it through a cycle to see how warm it got. It got really seriously hot on the outside. And it took a very long time to cool down to the point of being able to touch it. It seems like there is not enough insulation in it. I had no heat on the outside of the oven with my last one. This one’s going to take a little getting used to. The control panel buttons are a little tough. They take a lot more pressure than they really should.

Key pad is VERY difficult but oven is hugeI needed a large countertop oven. I researched countertop ovens for months and kept coming back to this one. There were two consistent complaints in the reviews for the model: French door problems and keypad problems. My first oven shipment had to be returned because there was a dent that warped the doors to not close. My second oven has a key pad that is so difficult to use it’s unbelievable— however, I’m keeping it. The oven itself is huge, beautiful, cooks well and I need it. I hope I don’t regret my decision down the road.

Very usefulOur family has used this for two years and found it easily the best countertop oven we’ve had. The two door design allows a rather large oven to fit into a small space. It has worked well for baking, roasting, toasting and warming. I like to put the serving utensils on it, so they’ll be warm when the food is ready. It is hotter in the back, so it is a good idea to turn the pan back to front at least once.I’m about to make a frittata and felt I should finally show this oven some appreciation.

It serves its purpose. It is a decent unit. Good as a toaster oven (I have baked cookies and a cake in it without having to heat the whole kitchen with our gas oven) the only thing I find is the convection lacks power. I have had other convection toaster ovens and their convection setting was powerful enough they could do as well as my full sized convection oven. We purchased this hoping that we wouldn’t need to buy a replacement for our air fryer but the weak convection leaves me questioning the decision. It did a great job of home made wings last night, but took 40 minutes to do so instead of the 22 that an airfryer would take for the same job. If I was going to pay full price I would get the ten in one over the eight in one or consider other brands. The 25 degree increments on the temperature setting also feel imprecise as does the lack of ability to a adjust the timer “by the minute” after 35 or 40 minutes (it changes to 5 minute increments beyond a certain amount of time.)

Perfect Counter Top OvenThe perfect size, quality, price range for me and 5 family members who absolutely love their’s.I have had mine since 2017 and it works as good as a new one. I’m 76 so this Oster is perfect for me and anyone really wanting to downsize in the kitchen.Very easy to use, clean and no bending to remove food from stove oven. Holds a 10lb rib roast or ham. Lots of room for 2 16″ pizzas. The convection setting is wonderful for ‘air frying’ and does all the things I want and need.

Spacious interior with some limitationsUPDATE OCTOBER 7, 2016: This is a response and an update to my Oster review. I have used this oven all summer and have found the oven works very well and I highly recommend it.To make it perfectly clear the statement “I’m basing this review upon my earlier experiences using toaster convection ovens.” means I am comparing my past experiences of using toaster ovens with the current Oster French Door convection oven. What I wrote is perfectly correct and clear. The Oster French Door toaster oven works very well and is far more spacious, and offers greater baking ability, as compared to the smaller toaster ovens I have used in the past.We don’t eat a lot of pizza, but I have managed to fit one large pizza pan in the oven, with ease. The reason why it was 1 pizza was because we didn’t need to prepare 2 pizzas as we didn’t need that much food. The oven can easily fit two pizzas in the oven as advertised. I did use my old faithful Martha Stewart pizza pan, which is not 16 inches, but closer to the average size pizza pan; and the pan fit with plenty of room left inside the oven. I can see baking a 16-inch pizza in the oven with ease as advertised. Some people, such as myself, have difficulty visualizing measurements. The description of how different pans should fit (and I did check by placing a 9 x 13-inch pan; an 8-inch cake pan; a 9-inch cake pan; a 2-quart casserole dish) before submitting this review.Overall, I have been very happy with the Oster French door oven. I used the oven throughout the past summer as the oven does not heat up the kitchen like a traditional gas oven wood. As I live in the middle of the desert, having a cool kitchen is an advantage, and using the Oster French Door oven make life bearable.I am continuing to use the French Door oven for most baking tasks as I am cooking for a small family. Firing up the big oven just doesn’t cut it when I can use the Oster toaster oven instead.Would I recommend buying this oven? Yes, I would. It works as advertised and I am very happy with it. I would also recommend buying the Corningware pyroceramic cookware to use in this oven as you can NOT use Pyrex to bake in it. This goes for all toaster ovens, not just the Oster French Door oven.I hope this helps. This is a preliminary review as I’ve used the Oster French Door Oven for a brief amount of time. I have used a couple other toaster ovens, including an Oster convection oven that’s similar to the French Door oven. I’m basing this review upon my earlier experiences using toaster convection ovens. The positives of this oven include:Spacious interior. It looks like I’ll be able to use a small baking sheet or a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with ease. The interior is quite large and has a circular area punched out so you can fit two large pizzas in the oven, if needed. Two racks: The oven is equipped with two wire racks.Preheat function: The oven has a preheat function which my previous toaster ovens did not. You can disable the preheat function, if desired.Warranty: A one year warranty is offered for this oven. The negatives include:Not much space between racks: The oven interior is spacious but there is not much depth between racks. There are only two slots provided to slide the racks into place, so you can not adjust the racks to allow for more area between baking pans. You should be able to bake using a larger pan, or food item on the top rack, while using a thinner pan in the bottom rack.Light: There is no way to turn the light off while baking. My previous Oster toaster convection oven allowed me to turn the light off.Warranty: There is a one year warranty offered for the Oster French Door Oven. For the price of the oven the warranty should have been somewhere between two and five years.Recommend with caveats given.

Suitable alternative when your regular oven breaksI purchased this oven when my built-in wall oven broke and (thanks to a messed up supply chain) it will be months before I can get a replacement. I bake a lot, mostly bread, and I’m happy to say that this is big enough that I can get by. I bought a 12″ baking stone to use with this oven and it works well. So far I’ve made pizza, bread, roasted vegetables. I made one of my breads in a small dutch 3qt dutch oven, and it seemed the dutch oven was too heavy for the rack, you could see it sagging a bit. So now just using the stone. I find the controls not very responsive (others have noted this – it’s weird), but they work if you push hard enough. I haven’t tested the temperature but anecdotally have noticed that it takes a bit longer for things to finish baking. (A bread recipe that should take 65 minutes took 75, for example.) Could be that using the convection feature with a regular temperature (instead of the usual 25 degrees fewer) would work better, some experimentation is required. But all in all, considering I’m completely out of luck getting a real oven, this is a great stop-gap for me. To address some of the complaints I saw about the doors slamming on people’s hands, or the glass breaking … open the doors fully and they won’t slam on you, and I can’t answer about the glass breaking, mine are intact. Seems like a great value for the $$.

FavoriteFirst I want to say that I did extensive research before I bought. I read all the reviews, did the internet for more thorough investigation and watched all the YouTube I could find. And I READ The DIRECTIONS!! The Oster toaster oven is the best for home use. Naturally, there are always those items that slip through QC or a package that gets damaged in shipment. The negative comments I read were quickly disregarded as I looked in to them. Most of the negative comments were things that could be explained by simply reading the directions that come with the item. The doors do not slam shut on you if you open to the locked position. The gap between the french doors is supposed to be there. Research it. It is part of the design. Do people honestly believe that Oster would make a perfect oven with a glaring mistake like that? Don’t try to block the gap! I don’t feel extreme heat coming off the oven. It’s well insulated with side vents and doesn’t get to got. Mine is on an island cart. My only complaint isn’t really a complaint but more of an inconvenience. Being used to a conventional oven that stays on indefinitely until I choose to turn it off, I don’t like the auto turn off but understand it as a safety precaution. Since I’m still getting used to my new fast baking times I set the timer for way more minutes than necessary and use my little kitchen timer. That way if I have four trays of cookies to bake, I can set the Oster for 30 or 40 minutes, bake 2 of the trays for ten minutes, then remove and bake the other two without the oven shutting down and going through resetting it. Remember that the preheat takes about seven minutes off the oven timer before you even start baking. This appliance is very attractive. The french doors are so classy. I feel the french doors are safer for me than the pull down doors. I noticed that the food on the top rack cooks a little faster then the bottom rack when I use both. We are still playing with it and loving it. For the price, I feel I got the best deal. The larger size is worth so much and the french doors. We can fit our pizza screens in it. The oven gives a beautiful pizza crust!!
